The donuts and pastries are delicious and so is the Vietnamese coffee. Every time I bring my little one to work with me we drop by beforehand and when she sees the goodies in the glass-enclosed case, she makes the greatest«wow» face. The staff is incredibly patient helping her pick out what she wants because it’s hard to make up your mind when everything looks incredible. Every time I am here to pick something up on my way to work, they genuinely make me feel welcomed and half of the time I get a little something extra thrown in for free. I love supporting a local business and I hope Northern Perks remains open for years to come.

I can’t even begin to describe how amazing these doughnuts are! You just have to go eat these little pieces of heaven for yourself. We often go on Saturday morning and the family running the place is so sweet! They know our kids names and sometimes throw in some doughnut holes for our daughter, which she loves! I seriously could eat these doughnuts all day and everyday if only I didn’t have a pesky job ;)

I just noticed that the owner posted a response to my original review. Had I seen that sooner, I would have updated my review then. I have continued to go to Northern Perks because it’s on the correct side of the road as I drive my girls to school. I have tried a variety of donuts and they have all been much better than the one I originally had. I even brought two dozen donuts to my team at work the day before Thanksgiving and they all loved them. Excellent prices, friendly service. I hope Northern Perks is successful because I will continue to go here when the donut craving kicks in.

Pretty good donuts. They had great texture but all of them had an aroma of dirty fry oil to them. The place also smells like fry oil. Gotta go to chi town for donuts.

These donuts are no doubt delicious. I was welcomed to the busy donut shop on Saturday morning by two very nice ladies behind the counter. I tell the one who is helping me thats its my first time in, and she hands me a fluffy donut-hole. So nice of her! She tells me her husband makes the donuts fresh everyday, they are new to the neighborhood, and that they are having fun with their shop. I like it! Picking up two dozen, so I choose the favorites for the first and have her mix up the second. They have prices on the particular donuts that I assume are an additional charge to put in the dozen. She doesn’t advise me of this & I don’t ask, but I’m no newbie to the«premium donut» world. Up charge for the maple bacon, the banana fritter and some others. No problem. The donuts are good! Sweet, the icing is legit and flavorful. Lots of options here. They have cute pink bakery boxes, but they pack their donuts on their sides. Why?! I like pretty and this method smashes the donuts! Ordered a Café Du Monde for almost $ 4. It didn’t taste great. 2 dozen donuts and a yucky coffee ran me $ 31. Ouch. I would recommend this place for a donut or two but the price is steep to treat the team. My team enjoyed, but I can tell you this place is crossed off the list for the best donuts in Cen Phở!

YUM! Maple glazed, pumpkin cinnamon sugar raised, old-fashioned blueberry(glazed), orange glazed, maple bacon(!), chocolate cake glazed, chocolate fruit loops and sprinkles, and donut holes! All on this morning’s trip! Plus, try their YinYang coffee/tea. Such an interesting mix of flavored! And their Café Du Monde w/condensed milk is strong and tasty!

I came by Northern Perks when I was in the neighborhood due to their prior excellent review on Unilocal.Unfortunately, at the time I didn’t have my wallet on me, but I stopped anyway. The woman behind the counter insisted I have a donut anyway, on the house, just for stopping! The donut was great, but what really stood out was the customer service. Thanks Northern Perks! (For their sake, please do not take advantage of this and try to get a free donut).

I’m not sure if there’s something wrong with me, if it was an off day, or if everyone else has low donut standards, but I didn’t think these donuts were all that. The husband and I excitedly drove up to Northern Perks on a Sunday morning to get some(supposedly) delicious donuts and coffee. We arrived and immediately felt a little disappointed… the shop itself was nothing terribly special and the case of donuts didn’t have much out of the ordinary either(at least these days when many other donut shops are stepping up their creativity game). The husband got a fruit loops donut, I got a cronut, we got the bacon maple to go and a coffee. Let me say, the ladies who work there were very nice and helpful. Here’s the rundown: Coffee– they have a few different varieties. The husband got the regular coffee and poured ‘cream’ in it from the carafe. Unfortunately, I don’t think it was cream(or milk) as the coffee looked like it had chunks of white stuff in it, I thought possibly bad milk… it was pretty gross looking, but the husband said it tasted ok and he thought maybe it was just coffee mate powder mixed with water. Either way, not having cream or milk out for coffee is ridiculous. Cronut — this thing was greasy and the filling was flavorless… the redeeming quality? the strawberry on top… but there was only one slice… and it didn’t save this dessert. This is a sad version of what could be so good. Bacon maple — Also greasy, left a weird taste in your mouth… wasn’t nearly as good as bacon maples from other local establishments(see Welcome Donut, Oink, etc). So, I’m not sure if it was a bad day, which I hope it was, but I’m also not sure I’ll be back to find out.

This is a modest place in a generic strip mall, but definitely worth a visit. We got there a little too late on a Sunday morning, 9 am, to try a cronut or some of the other specialties, but there was still decent variety. The ladies behind the counter were so friendly and greeted the locals as they came in, while thanking everyone else for their patience. We tried the raised chocolate with sprinkles, the apple fritter, red velvet, maple bacon and Boston cream. They were all delicious! The apple fritter is super sweet, so be forewarned if that isn’t to your taste. The maple bacon and red velvet were our favorites. The best part for me was the Café du Monde, the Vietnamese iced coffee — delicious! They use the Café du Monde chickory coffee, so it is nice and strong, and then pour over sweetened condensed milk.

Wow. Went in this morning after reading reviews on Unilocal and they didn’t disappoint. You can’t beat the friendly service where they make a habit of knowing their customers. A guy walked in while I was getting my two dozen and he was greeted like an old friend since he dined there the past week. The donuts were fresh and literally melted in your mouth. I can’t wait to go back!

This place is great– as good as it gets for a quick dozen and iced coffee to go. would say that the donuts themselves rival the quality of my other favorite Bosa but that they are even better because they come in even more varieties at Northern Perks. Where else in town are you going to find square donuts topped with m&ms, cocoa puffs or even the wacky Goldfish sprinkled donuts! They also have many versions of your usual standard– for instance they didn’t just have my favorite French Crullers but they had them in multiple varieties from maple and chocolate topped to orange and cinnamon. They also stock the elusive maple bacon donut but make sure to come early as they sell out quickly.

If this if the caliber of goodness they’re bringing after only being open two months, then I’d say Northern Perks has a bright future ahead. My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday morning. We were the only customers inside at the time, but there was an older couple enjoying their purchase on a patio table out front. The woman working(owner I assume) was super friendly and helpful. She just lit up the room and you could tell she loved being there. The doughnuts were really top notch. The plain glazed would be almost indiscernible from Krispy Kreme’s in a side by side taste test, and to me, that’s a heavenly thing. The glaze was light and flaky – never too thick or(eww) damp like it sometimes gets. The cronut(my first, I’m behind the times) was tasty and crisp but the filling it had was a little bland. I’d like to see it done with a more interesting flavor. The lemon-filled doughnut was nice and tart – just what I look for, but if you prefer a sweeter lemon, it might not be for you. The boston cream doughnut was just that, cream-filled, not filled with a glorified pudding like some places offer. The ham, cheese, and jalapeño croissant was to die for. If you like spicy breakfast foods, that is, ’cause this thing was not messing around. I think it was my husband’s favorite part of the trip, and that’s really saying something, as he is a doughnut FANATIC.(He remembers the first time he ever tried one as a child. No lie.) I also got an iced Café du Monde coffee, and although it was prepared a little differently than I had in good ol’ NOLA, it was outstanding. The chicory in the coffee is what really makes it stand out. Do yourself a favor and stop in – you won’t regret it!

Walked in about an hour before they closed on a weekday and they had a great selection, and we were able to get a baker’s dozen for $ 9.74(including tax)! This is not good. Donuts that good, that close to where I live, at that low of a price? Yikes. They have specialty donuts as well as the standard donuts and cinnamon rolls and all types of pastries including donut holes. They guy behind the counter was a riot and seemed to be quite the mellow and light hearted soul, great experience all the way around

This morning I woke up on a mission. After my 2 current trips to Tucson and being highly disappointed in there lack of Kwalifying Donuts for this Donut Kween I knew I absolutely could not give up on the State of Arizona. I pulled out my handy-dandy Galaxy and searched Unilocal! My life-saver in times of need. Unilocalers in Phoenix have not let me down! The first donut shop that popped up was Northern Perks Doughnuts & Coffee. Before I read reviews I look at photos because I’m such a visual person. I didn’t even get to the reviews I immediately clicked on «get directions» because I couldn’t wait to get here. Luckily it’s very close to the resort I’m staying at. I walked in and was greeted with a sweet and smiley Good Morning! Already I’m off to a good start. Next I see a cronut(«KRONUT!!!», says the Donut Kween) That is my first choice… filled with Kreme, light and fluffy looking and topped with a strawberry! aaahhh… heaven!!! I pick an assorted dozen to take back to my Duckie Krew… everything from basic Vanilla glazed to Chocolate Kovered Kruller… to. a Fruit Loopy raised donut… Whoa they are in for a treat! Now if you’ve read my other reviews ya’all(there goes my Memphis accent again) know I’m not a coffee person but I do rather enjoy trying coffee drinks that stand out to me. Looking over their drink menu I asked about their Café Du Monde Iced Coffee. Question: Me: Can you make this blended like a smoothie? Gentleman: we haven’t before so you’ll be the first. Now, where is my blender? **lol** warning label: Very Strong.(no lie!) me: *Big Smile* giggles! thoughts: I love that I’m the first! Result: One amazing drink!!!(pictures included) This staff is very accommodating. I truly love that. With the amount of caffeine running through my bloodstream at the moment I’m sure I can write… and write and write… and not run out of great compliments for this donut shop. From the greeting to the choice of donuts and drinks to sitting here and watching the interaction between staff and patrons this is the kinda place that I’d love to visit time and time again. Where everyone knows your name:(Norm!!!) I don’t think I can top this place!!! Shall I even continue my Donut Tour in Phoenix? Hmmmm… My 4-Traveling duckies say Yesssss… I am now torn… lol…**walking up to donut counter to have another Kronut!!!* (wired & sugared out!) *leaving with a big smile*

Q: So why did you open a donut shop? A: «Because I love donuts and there weren’t good ones here in our neighborhood» that is pretty hard to argue with :-) Lisa makes an amazing donut and runs a great shop. Brought the kids here and they consumed one of everything. And Lisa is so charming. Definitely a happy place to come in the morning. Marisa and I don’t think twice about driving 40 miles round trip to here in the morning. Opens at 4:30am too

Soooooooooooooooo amazing!!! I am so pumped that there is finally a legit doughnut shop in the area. The staff is super friendly and pleasant. There really are no words to describe the doughnuts here. They are all so amazing! The lemon filled is like a little cloud of heaven. So light! The french crueler… Holy smokes! I wish I could eat 10 of them! I stopped in this morning and picked up 3 dozen! Dropped some off at my daughters daycare and took 2 dozen in to work, I was totally the Monday morning hero today! Thank you Northern Perks!

Now I can have my cake and eat it too with the new neighborhood doughnut shop. The $ 5.99 grand opening deal is what caught my eye but when I walked in I was impressed. The small doughnut and coffee shop is located in a strip mall. There are a variety of beverages, coffee and milk to drink. Along with some tasty pastries and of course doughnuts. From glaze, to fritters, cake doughnuts and all the tasty toppings. The staff are super friendly. Very helpful and thank you for the business. There are tables and a large screen tv if you want to dine in.
