On Time Movers

One good thing about this place is I booked them fairly quickly and easily.
Now the shitty part–
1. So much stuff was missing/​damaged– my vacuum cleaner, my awards, my air compressor for airbrushing, my drill kit, microscope, my brita filter, etc all went missing. In addition, picture frames were broken, furniture was broken/​scratched/​damaged. When I called the company, they said all that they could offer me was an apology and nothing more. WTF? I paid you guys 5 grand to move my crap! The least you can do is make sure shit isn’t stolen!
2. they sent over 2 guys to move my stuff. One of the guys pulled me aside and says he wants me to pay him cash for the shrink wrap because the shrink wrap belonged to him personally. I called the company and they indeed said that they charge extra for shrink wrap. So I thought I would do him a favor and pay the guy in cash to help him out. Shady?
3. One of the movers pulls me aside and asks me to individually give him his own tip because he thinks the other guy will steal his tip if I gave it all in 1 envelope. Dishonest much?
4. 2 days before the dropoff, the company calls me and says that they need me to pay the 2^nd half of my bill in cash. I didn’t mind, but it turns out they send the driver out with only enough money to pay for the gas 1 way. If I didn’t pay in cash, the driver wouldn’t have money to go home. This is poor planning on their part. What if I didn’t have the cash on hand?
5. The guy who delivered my stuff came alone. There’s heavy furniture that needed to be carried up the stairs! So I had to help him carry the heavy furniture up (I’m a petite 115# girl– this is why I hired a moving company). He told me that the trip started with 2 guys. The other guy quit when they stopped in Vegas so he could go gamble. So the one guy went the rest of the way by himself. Despite this, the guy was very nice and worked extremely hard. But the rest of those shady mother-F*ers are a reflection of the company they work for.
In short, hire this company only if you wanna pay a lot to get your shit broken/​stolen.
