Évaluation du lieu : 1 Denver, CO
Decided to change our plans and drive up a day early to Phoenix on a Saturday so we could be close to the airport for our morning flight. Found a coupon(first mistake) for this motel and when we called they had rooms available. They advertised that they have a pool, free wifi, and free HBO. For roughly $ 30, one cannot expect much, but apparently I expected way too much. The room was straight out of the 1970’s, horrid red carpet, wood paneling, dated bedspread, and the smell. I don’t think there has been an update at this place ever. There was a layer of dust on top of the tv stand, possibly from the 1980’s, obvious water damage in the closet, along with mold and the thinnest industry towels ever.(I’ll get back to those in a minute) When I called to get the security key for the free wifi, I was told I needed to come to the office so they could write it down. It was well over 100 degrees, we had just driven over 3 hours, why can’t you just tell me the code? I had to ask three times! Because it was so hot, I thought a quick dip in the pool would be refreshing, yet there was no pool. There used to be one, I think, but it was filled with dirt, rocks and plants. So, quick shower will have to suffice. We were given two towels, I get that is «standard» for a room with a single bed, but these towels were thin and not regular bath towel size. I have long hair, I need two towels. The previous motel where we stayed gladly gave us extra towels every day. Three to four at a time! We had so many towels upon check out, we laughed and asked if they had a shortage. On our way to dinner this night, I went to the office and asked for extra towels. The response: You have two towels now. Excuse me what??? Can we please have at least two more? I need two, he needs one and what is the issue? No… you have two towels now. Yes, but we need more please. I was stunned that I was being told I couldn’t have more towels, that I even had to explain why I needed them, and when we returned to our room after dinner… NOEXTRATOWELS! Are you kidding me? It’s not like the motel was full, even the maid wouldn’t give me any. Who does this??? Why is this ok? I could speculate on a few things here, but I won’t. I cannot believe we turned down a free room at the Marriott for this smelly, ugly, dirty, worst customer service experience ever.(second mistake) I guess you truly get what you pay for… if I could give negative stars as a rating… it would be too generous.
