I have been shopping here for 2.5 years. I find it convenient and the sales are easy to navigate. It is never very crowded when I’m inside and the aisles don’t seem clogged with traffic. When it comes time to check out though expect a wait particularly if it is around 3 – 5 pm. They usually only have 2 check outs open– the express and one regular one. This is fine with me as I understand they have to cut costs somewhere. Now, let’s get to the reason why I give three stars. I don’t buy seafood, lunch meat, or produce here anymore. In fact, perishable goods I steer clear of altogether. Over the past several months, I have had to throw out or return several items that were not good– including a fruit tray, fish, and a package of chicken. At times, I have even bought bread that was stale. I still go here but I mainly buy non-perishable goods like cereal, drinks, condiments, canned items, frozen stuff, etc. I buy most of my meats and produce at shop rite or giant now.

I shop here mainly out of a sense of loyalty I feel to my local safeway. It’s been passing the test of time, from the Klein’s Castle, Wegmans, and now shoprite. My only concern, and maybe this is just a summer thing, is the kids working there. I feel like I’m interrupting a high school gym class when I shop sometimes. The store itself has great discounts on meat every once in a while, and their bakery makes some of the least authentic yet DELICIOUS Italian bread ever.

This is one of the two grocery stores in Jacksonville, and the place where I shop(when my wife lets me). There is also a Klein’s around the corner, but they hosed a birthday cake for my daughter when she was younger, therefore no business from me. It isn’t massive, but it certainly has everything I need. I like their organic food aisle, plenty of good choices. They have a Starbucks just to the right as you walk in.
