I stopped here while driving through on a whim with my 17 year old daughter. If you would of put a fancy tux on server you would of thought 5 star restaurant. Waitress was total sweetheart and on the ball. Pleasant without seeming phony. Good was deliciously fresh and hot and ample portion. Only reason 4 out of 5 is that we both ordered hot roast beef and we requested, but they didn’t have long hots.(we are from philly and that’s the way they are traditionally served) also I requested horseradish and they served creamy horseradish(and that Definitely is not how served in philly). But delicious. Would go all the time is I lived there.

Came here to celebrate the birthday of a friend from out of town and we decided to go bar hopping. For one the food was not very good. Typical pub grub. Secondly we had an issue with our order and complained and management was extremely rude. We didn’t make a big stink and just left, but needless to say I will not be coming back if I am ever in the area again.

We love PJ’s for Taco Tuesday. $ 1 delicious tacos, the sexiest bartender in P’ville, $ 4 Victory drafts and Trivia. Beware of the cellphone nazi regular customer who will tattle on you to the Quizmaster. Like even if you just touch your phone to text your Mom. He wins literally every week and is kind of a douche– nothing against the bar though. Great food, great beer selection and great service.

Had a really nice dinner at the bar here. Their tap list wasn’t the best, but I got the grilled chicken BLT and it was super yummy(especially the bread). The fries were good as well. Nice bartender. I’d go back!

Good food and friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Good price. If you hope to converse, don’t sit under the speakers on the porch if it’s game night. I’ll be going back.

We always pick PJ Ryan’s as our brunch spot to meet the in-laws. It has always been a wonderful experience. Nice brunch selection and service is great. It is an affordable brunch for the amount of food options they have. They even seem welcoming to children and engaging with them which is always a plus.

PJs is ok for drinks. Their menu has changed occasionally. The best is the griffin boxty or the shepherds pie but other than that they try to hard to class is the place. While day time customers and early evening it is pleasant, the night time social crowd brings a mix of people including drug users in the restroom

As someone raised in Philadelphia for twenty odd years, I would happily go out of my way to head to PJ Ryan’s in Phoenixville — I had the pleasure of meeting PJ himself one night, after teasing him about tucking in his tie(sorry, not sorry!) and he was quite friendly, joking around with me and making casual conversation — it’s people like him that makes me come back to a place, they value the customers, just not about making a profit. I had the buffalo wings which was amazing and quite a few drinks — the selections itself is great. Crowd wise, it’s young and trendy — but not like you’ll get a 21-year-old vomiting everywhere because they couldn’t handle their alcohol. Like everywhere, there are a few bad apples that can turn a night horrible. If that’s going to make you turn your nose upwards at this place, then cool. More food and beer for others. Thanks PJ for making my night hilarious and next time, don’t tuck in your tie.

The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it’s my hangout bar, the food is good and my favorite bartender works there(Stacey) but when it comes to some of their mixed drinks it isn’t that great. I got the pjs mojito and it was the worst I’ve ever tasted. So from now on I won’t get that, but the overall atmosphere is just a regular bar atmosphere.

Eh. We were staying in the area for a friends birthday– and we visited this place twice. At night for part of a bar crawl– and the next morning for Brunch. The bar was a bar– nothing special. They did have cider on tap which is always a plus for me, a non-beer drinker We came back the next morning for Sunday Brunch. It was just ok. Good price, but maybe it just wasn’t crowded enough to keep the food freshly moving and hot. Pros– good variety. Good price. Bloody Mary bar for an extra $ 3 a person. Cons. Bloody bar fixings seemed old– or maybe were frozen at some point. Food wasn’t hot.

This place has fantastic fried mozzarella and perfectly cooked hamburgers. I want to try some other menu items, but those two just have me every time it comes to ordering. The mozzarella is nice and crispy outside and melted perfectly inside. Each hamburger is different yet equally good. And the french fries I want to double up on each time, but I am just way too full after I finish! Also, I love coming in to get Victory beers on tap. And it is a nice easygoing atmosphere in the earlier part of the evenings(I am not a late nighter on weekends) which is very comfortable.

This place attracts a very young crowd with cheap drinks, mediocre food, and loud dance music(Yet no one was dancing on our arrival at 11:30pm!) We promptly left — just not the place for an about to be 30 something!

Food was good but service could not have been any worse. Our waitress disappeared as soon as she was done taking our order and we had to bother other staff the rest of the time asking for assistance Even worse than that was the fact that at 6pm while couples and family’s are enjoying dinner a group of guys came in and took over yelling about 3ways and cursing out of control with no management showing any concern for other customers

I went because I had a GC and I left very happy! Good quality food. As well as typical pub food(batter dipped fries, wings, etc) I would just ask to accommodate vegetarians with more options

We’ve been to PJ Ryan’s a couple times and it seems like depending on when you visit, the atmosphere changes quite a bit. During the day, this establishment is an excellent family environment for dining. There are several bars in the building including in the basement. The building itself is a great example of an Irish Pub from the outside with windows opening to the air and street. During our visits, the bartenders have always been kind and made some excellent mixed drinks. I’d recommend the Bloody Mary extra spicy. The drink pricing is reasonable here. Once we visited late night and it was crowded with the 21 – 24 crowd and was not the right atmosphere for a 30 year old like myself looking for a chill place to enjoy a beverage. However, I’ve only been here one time late night, so I haven’t been able to validate if this is a normal atmosphere.

Eh, I was hoping for better. I’ve been here a few times and while the bar itself is nice, the food is well, just not that memorable. It’s not bad. I’m not trying to trash PJ’s, but I’ve certainly had better. Recently, I stopped in here for a burger and I just wasn’t thrilled. The patty itself did not taste fresh and was overcooked. The fries were those double battered, seemed like they came out of a frozen bag kind. I needed to use lots of ketchup to actually finish my meal. Our waitress was really pleasant and very attentive. The other times I’ve been here the service has really been quite good. The layout of the bar also works very well in my opinion. It does seem like a really good spot to watch a game or even come for a few drinks at night. I’d also like to point out that in the bar, the tables are actually granite which was pretty cool to eat off of. I’ll come back here but probably just to have drinks. The beer selection seems decent enough and the prices are ok for the area.
