Cheddar’s Casual Café

We haven’t eaten at a Cheddar’s in YEARS because the food has always been unseasoned, lukewarm and just blah… but I had a gift card from Christmas and we decided to use it while in Pigeon Forge. I’m so glad we did! The food was WONDERFUL (my husband and I both ordered steaks –ribeye for him and sirloin for me). The steaks and all of our sides were cooked well and seasoned perfectly and they were HOT! I also had a Maui Margarita — it was huge, reasonably priced and super yummy (and you could actually taste the alcohol!) The service was fantastic (even on a very busy Friday night). It was quick and we didn’t have to ask our server for anything. He was absolutely on top of everything! Not sure if the sub-​par food is just at our usual Johnson City, TN location, but we will absolutely be back to Cheddar’s in Pigeon Forge!

Visit on ¹⁄₁₇ — service was poor. Initial orders were correct, however the runner delivering the food spilt a drink. They apologized but didn’t offer a refill. The actual server came and didn’t say a word until we mentioned it to them. Before we could ask for dessert they brought out our check. We still decided to order 2 cookie and ice creams, one for each bill. The server brought back one order only. After another 15 minute wait they brought the second order. Both were warm, not hot like we have had at other locations. Overall the entrees were okay and priced appropriately.

The worst dining ever! I normally love this place! It was again the worst place to go. We ordered a beer that sat at the bar for 10 minutes then they bring it and its not what was ordered. Out water and tea also came with our appetizers, not when ordered. All the food was brought to the table ice cold.

Anita was amazing.
The drinks and appetizer came fast, she was always patient with our 7 year old daughter, engaging in genuine conversation.
The food. Mmmm. You are doing yourself a disservice if you do not get the croissants.
My wife and I split a monte cristo and still had ¼ leftover. It’s a heavy sandwich but delicious.
I have found that the food at Cheddars’ various locations tends to be fairly consistent, but the speed and service at this location were top notch.

Server was very friendly amidst a very busy night. Food was good and overall experience was great. Raspberry tea was phenomenal. Get a complimentary refill for the road.

Apparently understaffed today! Empty tables everywhere and a 45 minute wait! I do love eating here most of the time, but don’t enjoy waiting when I don’t have a large party. Get with it Cheddars put some tables together for the big fams and hire someone more waiters.

I really enjoyed this place over the summer, but recently came back for the winter. I don’t know if I’ve seen a place go downhill so quickly. They changed the menu a dropped a few items like the shepherds pie (which I liked quite a bit) and the service wasn’t great. If you’re going to go here I’d stick to the drinks.

The wait was supposed to be an hour and a half but ended up being just around thirty minutes which isn’t to bad for the time of night we went. The food was less than mediocre though and our poor waiter must have been really frazzled because he couldn’t remember anything from bringing my baby a drink, to condiments, to the one person in our party who was still waiting on food when we were all finished. With all the other dynamic non-​chain restaurants I doubt we will be here again. Don’t waste your money and time!

Service was excellent! ! Food was beyond expectations! The best part was it was very reasonably priced. Definitely will be back. Would recommend to anyone in the area :)

My cousin Ellen raved about this place and how great it is; she was wrong.
Pros: My steak was perfect and delicious. The décor was nice and clean.
Cons: my steak was one of 5 at the table, the rest were in various states of under and over cooked. They put the wrong sides with every entrée. They got 2 out of three baked potatoes wrong. The manager would not even drag her lazy hind parts to the table. The chicken was undercooked. It was cold and they had the AC blasting. The sides were all cold.
They had the SLOWEST service I have ever encountered.
We ordered drinks with in 5 minutes of sitting, it took 30 minutes to get them to the table. We ordered an appetizer and it took 45 minutes to arrive (cold). We ordered entrees and it took 2 hours and 18 minutes to get them. Of course it was cold and wrong. We sent the potatoes back because they were wrong. Another thirty minute wait. They were fairly busy, but changing the potatoes should have taken 2 minutes. During all of this the drinks never got refilled, someone asked for ketchup three times and it never came… the list goes on
As things began to add in to a very unhappy experience I asked our waitress if I could speak to the manager, she came back with the head hostess. She was a very nice young lady but the sheer number of complaints made her uneasy and very far out of her depth. So, I asked (again) to speak to the manager and was informed that she was far too busy (I read this as incompetent). She never came.
My advice is to go anywhere else. This was actually the worst place I have been in years.

We’re staying at a non-​Hilton chain hotel on a trip to Austin, TX. I have stayed at La Quinta Inns before but I have to give a huge shout out about this hotel. The two room suite comes with two King beds, a sink, a bath/​shower combo, two Tv’s in each room, coffee, refrigerator, microwave and enough storage for 5 people.
The place is clean, smoke-​free, and very cozy. This particular La Quinta is in Cedar Park, TX. If you need a clean place to stay I would recommend
this place for this area.

Normally I love Cheddars. The food and atmosphere. And while the service and atmosphere were great, my Chicken Tortilla soup was lacking of children and tortilla.

Great food and great prices. It’s a local favorite. The service is good and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We decided to eat at Cheddar’s because they have grilled fish on the menu. We had awesome spinach dip and wonderful onion rings for our appetizers. Grilled salmon, fish tacos, & chicken pot pie was cooked to perfection. We sat in the bar area and had great service and watched the fish in the beautiful aquarium. Will definitely be back !

Our experience here was sooooooooo awesome! The time it took from arriving to Cheddars to get our appetizers was probably about 10 minutes. Our waitress was so nice and the food came out really quick. I got the chicken pot pie and it was superb and I highly recommend it. I definitely want to come back soon.

I am normally a huge fan of Cheddars but not tonight. It started off great because we were told
it would be a 40 minute wait but was no more than 10 minutes. I went with 6 other adults and was seated at a booth. Some of our party were in the restroom when the waitress appeared. I can’t remember her name. She asked if there were more of us and we told her yes. She acted like that was a huge inconvenience that our whole party wasn’t at the table yet for her to take our drink order. She took the order for those of us there. We were seated at a booth that was too crowded for 7 so we asked if we could get a chair to put at the end of the table. She rudely said, «I don’t know if they’ll give you one but I’ll ask, what do you want to drink». She took the orders of the 4 people there. The entire time she was talking to us she could barely keep her eyes open. I would be willing to bet that she was on some type of drugs (prescription pills maybe). Because
I didn’t think she would ask for the chair and she was already being rude I asked another employee for a chair. She brings back only 3 of the 4 orders with 1 being the wrong drink and at the same time the other employee shows up with a chair. She proceeds to throw (literally) our straws to us and says, «I can’t believe they brought y’all a chair.» One of the people in our party says something to her about throwing the straws and she says «well I couldn’t reach you.» I asked for another waitress and she storms off. We decided to leave because I felt like we might’ve ended up with something else in our plate besides the food. I will not EVER return to this Cheddars. I should’ve asked for a manager but I was so mad we just left. I couldn’t believe someone in the service industry treated my family and I so horribly.

OK, I was wrong. We went there again and the service was horrible and we had to send back a part of our order. I didn’t get all the sides that was supposed to have come with my order. The server didn’t seem to care. I was told that the night shift is beyond bad, now I agree.

Our meal was reasonably priced but just ok. I guess you get what you pay for. We went later in the evening and got seated right away. The ambiance was nice. Our server wasn’t very personable.

Hello Unilocalers. So, for those of you who know my reviews I start off with the customer service. The customer service was phenomenal. Our waitress was very professional and attentive to our every need. So now let’s talk about the food.
We started out with appetizers, queso with ground beef and chips, cheese fries, and mozzarella sticks. All of it was great!
The portions that were given were very large so much so that my husband and I were able to share a meal. We shared the chicken fingers with fries. The chicken fingers we’re cooked just right and so were the fries.
There were a number of different meals that were ordered by my family and I posted some of the pictures all of wich we’re great. The entire experience was fabulous.
Now let’s talk about the price. The price was right. Not expensive at all and for what you got in the mail portions it was well worth it. This is definitely a place that we will be revisiting while here on vacation.

We recently visited this location when visiting Pigeon Forge. After reading all the reviews below, I had very high expectations for this restaurant; however, the reality was actually quite horrific.
To begin, we had wait 50 minutes for this subpar experience while most of the tables were empty. Once seated, the menu seemed as if it was going to be amazing! We ordered the onion rings and queso as appetizers and enjoyed both greatly.
The problem with the meal was not the food; it lies within our experience with our waitress. Our waitress was unable to speak English, and it became very tough to communicate our orders to her. Once our food came out, all our food was wrong. I ordered chicken and waffles and received a buffalo chicken wrap. Several other members of our party received the incorrect sides as well.
However, I didn’t have a problem with the waitress; my problem was with management. Why would you put someone who isn’t experienced in the English language in a customer facing job?! It just doesn’t make sense. In order to fix this problem, management should require each waiter to pass a simulation or test prior to actually entering the field.
I would not go back here EVER again. The food was not even that good, and I certainly did not enjoy the customer service experience. Diners beware.

While on vacation in The Smoky Mountains we decided to stop by Cheddar’s. The exterior to the interior of this restaurant is very nice, especially the interior décor covered in brick. From the 10 – 15 foot salt water fishing tank to the beautiful palm-​leaf fans in the dining room, this place offers a very relaxing environment. When double checking their restrooms I noticed how extremely well they are taken care of, something I highly suggest every patron checks on when eating out. As someone who has worked in the industry for many years, time and time again I say that a dirty restroom usually means a dirty and unsanitary kitchen as well.
During our dining experience here we had April as our server who was very attentive, she took good care of us and was professional. For example, my wife who had the baked fish tacos with pinto beans with rice noticed how little rice came with the beans (they come mixed together), April brought her a plate of rice. For dinner I had the Hawaiian chicken sandwich with steamed broccoli, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The chicken was cooked, as it should be, yet it was not dry, it was still moist and juicy.
Throughout our dinner, April checked on us and kept our drinks refilled. To summarize the service here is great as well as the food. On the weekend there is a wait of about 15 – 30 minutes, but it is worth it.
I’d recommend Cheddar’s.

I ate here twice during my stay in Pigeon Forge. The service was really great and the servers were patient and helpful. The food here is cheap but just right. It’s good and you definitely get your money’s worth. The New Orleans Pasta is one of my favorite dishes here. The burgers are good as well. They also have flavored tea with unlimited refills and that’s also big plus. I would definitely come here again on my next visit.
