Great brats, great loaded fries. Can’t wait until the new German restaurant opens by he same company. Already craving a brat again. Awesome buns, too.

I love that the menu focuses on the star — french fries! I very much enjoy the concept of a fry shop(something I’ve considered starting myself!) — comforting hot and salty fries, lots of sauces to choose from and locally owned and cared for! Poyner’s hits all of these and more — we stopped for a quick bite this week and fell in love. My daughter got the cheese fries(chipotle ranch), my son and I split a large fry(ketchup, jalapeño ranch and coo ku sauce) and my husband got a sausage and fry.(Wasabi mayo) Portions were huge and the fries were perfection. The owners were kind and asked to make sure that all was well a few times. It’s rare to find a business that someone cares — love it! If you’re in Pigeon Forge, on the Island, and are like us and love fries, GOTO Poyner’s!

Reminded my wife of Germany. What more could you ask for than bratwurst, Belgium fries, and brotchen. My Army brat wife said it reminded her of the food offered by street vendors in Heidelberg. The combo included a bratwurst, small fries, and piece of brotchen bread. She got the curry ketchup as her choice of dip. Everything was cooked to perfection. The fries were crispy but not greasy. All for under $ 10. Probably the best value at The Island. A must try.

Fries were awesome, sauces amazing and the«cheese frites» with bacon, jalapeño and cheese were fantastic! I think prices are in line with everything on the island and to be honest. You’re paying more because of where you are. Definitely worth it!

I do not get the other reviews. We must have just been there on a bad day. The staff was rude. The food was NOWHERE near German… hey, just because it is a sausage don’t mean it is German. I am from Berlin, Germany and was hoping for a authentic meal. Furthermore my brat was cold and undercooked and the bread roll was stale. I did like the mustards. The fries where ok. Nothing special. Everything is overpriced and they guard the ketchup and napkins behind the counter. No fountain drinks. The sauerkraut was served in a ridiculous small plastic container. Will not go back there.

We ordered the Pommes Frites w/cheese, jalapenos, onions, and bacon. You get a very big portion, my husband and I were both able to eat it and be full. The price was reasonable and the staff was nice.

Stopped by here while I was visiting the island while in pigeon forge and we decided to get the spaghetti ice because of all the great reviews and pictures we had seen on here. It was one of the best ice cream sundaes I’ve ever had. The whole concept of it is just so neat. It wasn’t bad priced either it was like $ 6.50 for the sundae. It was a really great portion, there’s no way I could eat one on my own, so glad we decided to share one. I’m not sure how the actual food is, didn’t try it. But I do know that it looked & smelled amazing! I’ll definitely be coming back here next time!

It is almost 10:00 pm & the place is packed. The service has flowed smothly and our order for 5 people was out in less than 5 minutes. The food was tasty & a pleasant change from hamburger fast food. Finish the meal off with their Spaghetti Ice

Awesome meal! We came with 14 people. Brats, fries and Spaghetti Ice. The food was authentic German sausages and great fries. The dipping sauces were a great compliment to the fries. I agree with some of the reviews the price is a little on the high side, but we thought it was absolutely worth it. If we are in the area again we will definitely be back.

The food was good and the sauerkraut was the best I ever had. The portions were small though and the price was high. It was on the island though so high is to be expected.

Excellent Bratwurst, Currywurst, Knackwurst, Nürnberger and Weißwurst; and even better sauces for the Pommes! The Spaghetti Eis was also excellent. Anyone with even a passing interest in German fast/street food will enjoy this place. A huge negative is the cost. 5 sausages, 2 large fries and 5 sodas were almost $ 60. This should have been half that price!

Pommes frites were good as was the spaghetti ice, but both were just overpriced. I had several other desserts on this trip that were way better, although they get credit for being original. Icecream melts quick so this turns into a melted mess quickly. Presentation is like nothing we had ever seen, so of course we had to try it. I am sure it’s a hit with kids, but for me I will be in search of the many better desserts in town.

Awesome! I can only review for the Spaghettieis, since I didn’t order anything else. What a treat this is! It’s essentially a strawberry sundae. The vanilla ice cream is put through a ricer to look like«noodles,» topped with strawberry syrup«spaghetti sauce,» sprinkled with white chocolate«Parmesan cheese,» topped with 2 Ferrero Rocher«meatballs,» and garnished with 2 biscoff cookie«breadsticks.» In essence, it’s a strawberry sundae. But the presentation is fun and creative, making it a blast to eat! I’m certain that the brats and fries are delicious, but I did not order any, so I can’t tell you. For a fun dessert, get yourself some Spaghettieis! If you’re not feeling strawberry, they also have chocolate syrup.

This restaurant sits in the shadow of the giant Great Smoky Mountain Wheel and is named for its fries(Belgian fries actually). While they definitely serve good fries, the bratwurst sandwiches are what really caught our attention. More specifically, the bread on which the sandwiches are made is amazing. It’s called Broetchen. It’s a small hard roll from Germany/Austria. My mother, who was with me, said she had them years ago on a visit to Germany and had never seen them in this country. We met the very friendly couple(Tammy and Poynor) who owns the restaurant. Poynor bakes the delicious rolls. He explained that they’re made with a process that involves breaking them three times. We discussed how we could arrange take some home with us and he offered to bake a batch twice so that we could take them home and finish them. They were so good that we took him up on the offer and drove back to Pigeon Forge the following day to pick them up before leaving Tennessee. They survived the 10 hour ride home and we ate them nearly every day for a week! When visiting Tennessee I’d expect to find southern food and moonshine(we found plent of both), but Poyner’s surprised me with a brilliantly baked German specialty that I wish was available closer to home.

Never thought that I would go somewhere and only order french fries. Not that they weren’t good but that’s all it was? Just really good french fries… I think next time I’ll get something on them like cheese. It’s a good place to go while you’re at The Island and just want a snack.

As a vegetarian, my general complaint about visiting this area is the lack of good food options. I often get stuck with fast food — cheese sticks, french fries… but in this case, I would even go out of my way for these french fries. This was basically our dinner after arriving in Pigeon Forge. Poynor’s Pommes Frites offers thick, hand cut fries with a ton of in-house dipping sauces to choose from. I’ve never been a big fan of dipping fries in just ketchup; I usually get a side of mayonnaise and mix that with my ketchup. Poynor’s does offer ketchup as a dipping option, but they’ve totally embraced the idea that dipping sauces can be way more exciting We tried Bohemian Kase, Black Forrest, and Parmesan Ranch. Poynor’s also offers Spaghetti Ice Cream, which looks like spaghetti, marinara sauce, parmesan cheese, and meatballs, but is actually Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with pureed strawberry or raspberry topping, grated premium white chocolate, and a Ferrero Rocher chocolate ball. Very unique presentation! It’s a fairly small place with limited seating, but there are some outside tables. It is in a cute little shopping and entertainment center, so it’s a great fairly quick stop if you’re walking around«The Island» area.
