I keep finding myself trying all these little hole in the wall places but sometimes when you want good authentic food that’s where you need to go. Since I crave Mexican food often, I’m always looking for new spots. Have been here 2x for lunch and have been very satisfied. Very small inside with a couple tables. Menu is in both English and Spanish so there should be no problems ordering. Both the enchiladas and tostadas I have tired have been packed with flavor and they don’t skimp out on the chicken like other places I have seen. Prices are very reasonable which is right in my lunch budget! Large portions too! Will totally come back here!

La Fogata is cute little Latin American restaurant in a run down strip mall. Based on some old Unilocalers reviews, I decided to stop in for my Latino luncheon fix. Restaurant has about six tables and is pretty small but has a homey feel. I had a previous rule of thumb that goes as such: if a Mexican restaurant has a website, it can’t be any good. Looks like La Fogata helps break that rule! They have a pretty extensive menu that is in both Spanish and English as well as a lunch special of the day. Today it is Carne Asada or fried fish, sided with white rice, beans, salad and a free bowl of chicken soup. Don’t expect five-star meal but rather this is a very solid luncheon meal. Jarritos and Mexican Coke help round out the authenticity of the meal. Of course they the requisite TV blaring daily telenovelas for your entertainment! Friendly folks behind the counter help through any language gap. While the description is «Mexican», I agree that its probably more Central American. Will I be back? You bet! While I would give this establishment a very solid 3.5, I’m going to round that up to a four since they deserve it.

Awesome little Mexican/Latin American casual restaurant. I know the signage says«Mexican Grill», but I’m willing to bet the owners/chefs are from Central or South America; but that would only be my guess. There are several Latin American influenced dishes on the menu including Peruvian, Honduran, Colombian, and Mexican. The restaurant is apparently quite authentic as the place was filled with mostly Latin American customers. The place seats about 20 customers. We were able to choose our table upon arrival, and were served complimentary salsa and chips. Both were homemade and delicious. The salsa was hot, but bearable. It may be too hot for some, but the chips and a beverage will help keep it cool. To add to the ambiance, Telemundo is playing on the large flatscreen. An awesome Spanish-dubbed Dolph Lundgren movie was playing during our meal. No kidding, it really added positively to the atmosphere! I split a couple of dishes with my wife — The Honduran Plate and an order of Carnitas Tacos. Both were terrific(see picture of the Honduran Plate and Salsa attached to this review). Very tasty and generous portions. The steak on the Honduran Plate was tough, but tasted good and was quite lean. The four(4) carnitas tacos were stuffed with pork, onions, and cilantro, and were a good portion size. The menu is 5 or 6 pages, packed with all sorts of different selections from all over Latin America. There’s tongue, ceviche, and other traditional Latin American dishes, along with more mainstream Mexican choices such as fajitas, burritos, tacos, and chimichangas. I had to knock off a half-star for the steak toughness, and another half-star for the weak air-conditioning. However, this is my new go-to place for latino comfort/fast food! I also wish they had a take-out menu, but none were available. Looking forward to trying out some more of their dishes!

This little Mexican restaurant is THEBOMB — -it’s authentic Mexican food, not the Tex Mex stuff that’s most often found around here. Everything that my bf and I have tried so far has blown us away with HOWDELICIOUS it is — the chorizo tostadas are my fave so far, but any of the burritos are also absolutely mouth-watering, and the tacos are amazing, too — 4 to an order, for only $ 8! They’re so authentic that I’ve had to speak Spanish a few times to ask the cashier questions.
