This place is old and probably has seen its day but it is clean. It is certainly not the healthiest place to eat. I have to say the food is tasty but watch your cholesterol and blood pressure. I had an vegi omelet and was it was wet with grease and the home fries although tasty were salty. The best thing was the biscuit which was soft, warm and very flaky. I think they must be using season-all on everything. My husband had the open-faced chili sandwich and he commented on how salty that was. The prices are reasonable and the service was good but we won’t be back.

Great little breakfast spot, with huge portions. It’s your basic country café… warm, friendly, and reasonably priced. Highly recommend the Early Bird!

I was a little too hungover to know how everything tasted, but if I was at my best I think I would have fallen in love! I had the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were topped with sausage patties, eggs, and then gravy to top it all of. It was a heart attack waiting to happen, but it would be well worth it! So much food and cheap to boot!

Stopped here for breakfast! A little hole in the wall type place. It was full of people when we came in… Got seated right away. Staff isn’t overly friendly but they’re busy and keeping up taking care of everything so I’m not gonna be up tight about that. I got the BLT with hashbrowns and my boyfriend got the 3 bacon breakfast specialty. Good was delicious! Really hit the spot.

This place was the pits! Dirty, bad service with an attitude and the food was awful. We always try to patronize a locally owned restaurants vs. a national chain. This place sends me right down to Payson for a McDonalds breakfast.

We call this place«the dirty bird». The floor is filthy and sticky! Which was the first sign not to eat here. Bathrooms were disgusting! For the owners to own a waste management company also(little stickers) i would think that they would be clean, but no!!! We literally saw rat droppings on the window sills. I was going to puke. Thank goodness I ate before I saw them. The food was so greasy!!! If you like long blond hairs in your food definitely come here. My poor daughter did not even touch her meal after she found that. Don’t even get me started on the service!!! The service was horrible. We waited for about 20 minutes for our waitress to greet us. I don’t even think I saw our waitress smile once. She never checked up on us, or get us refills. We had to go up and ask for our check! We left this place feeling horrible and will never come back again!!! I do not recommend this place to anyone! If there was an option to leave a half of a star I would. But Unilocal is very generous!

Undoubtedly the best place for breakfast. If the Early Bird was in Phoenix you would wait on line for hours to get in. Food is always hot, fresh perfectly cooked and served quickly. The addition of fresh fruit in the plates is just a perfect touch. Try their pancake. .it will be served wonderfully hot with crisp edges. .yumm.and the country gravy is so good you could eat it by itself(I order a side of it every time I eat here). All told my favorite breakfast spot bar none.

Great for breakfast. Here pretty much every time we are up. It’s fast and decent. Two people with two specials and total is $ 20 including a greater than 20% tip.

Huge portions and tasty breakfasts. Service though, was slow and nearly non-existent. If you don’t mind the wait, it’s a good option for a hearty meal. I shared some biscuits and gravy, tried some corned beef hash, and had the 2 pancake breakfast. The pancakes were huge and took up the whole plate. The taste itself was light, fluffy, and cooked perfectly. It was served with some whipped butter and syrup. The biscuits were equally huge, light, and fluffy, with a generous portion of gravy with large chunks of sausage in it. The corned beef hash was really salty and hard to eat though. They seemed understaffed when we went, on a busy Sunday morning. As a result, service was slow and the waitresses did not have the most pleasant attitude, to say the least. Word of warning as well. The bathroom was disgusting and reminded me of a bathroom you might go to if you are in an institutionalized setting. I don’t even know what was on that seat, nor could I get it off with toilet paper… Despite the good breakfast, I’d probably try another breakfast spot in the area if I’m here again due to the service and lack of cleanliness in the bathroom.

This place is basically one of the few places we could have gone for breakfast in a small town of Strawberry. We figured we would give it a try on our way out. Thinking back, I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to come here. When we first walked in, it felt like it we walked into a mad house. Waitresses were running around with hot red cheek. Everyone looked like they were stressing out. it didn’t take us long to be seated. However, it certainly took the waitress a good 10 – 15 minutes before showing up to take our order. I honestly do not blame the waitress — Not only they were short staffs, waitresses not only were serving/cleaning tables, they were also the hostress/cashiers. I understand that this is a small town… but seriously I feel sorry for them. If the owner is reading this review, I want you to know that you should treat your employees better. We waited a good 20 minutes for food. It gave me time to look around the restaurant while waiting. The floor is disgustingly dirty, so were the folks/knives/spoons. They don’t even look like they were cleaned at all. I was terrified to use them. When the food arrived, my harsh brown was completely burn. Thankfully you couldn’t mess up on eggs and the pancake was actually very fluffy and delicious. Which is why I still wanted to give this restaurant a 2 star. Next time when i head back up to Strawberry, rest assure I will not come back here again. i will not recommend this place to anyone — local or visitors.

It was honestly terrible, the place was dirty on the inside and the food did not seem fresh at all. I don’t understand how they pass heath inspection especially with a dog in the kitchen. For health reasons I would not recommend«The Dirty Bird». Maybe the same people that run a septic pumping company(little stinkers) shouldn’t also run a restaurant, I’m just saying. Gross!

Meh. $ 3.99 for their early bird special. Good deal in a little town that doesn’t have too many other restaurants. Understaffed. The pancakes were light and fluffy. The breakfast burrito needed some type of sauce on top of the dry tortilla. But, I’ll give it another try.

Awesome, awesome breakfast spot in Pine! I got the big breakfast which comes with 3 eggs, 3 strips of bacon, 2HUGE pancakes, and hash browns. Best bacon I’ve had in a very long time. So thick and crispy! Service was very personable and friendly. The food came out so fast too — not even 5 minutes! Be sure to stop by when you’re driving through!

My 73 yo Dad eats here 5 – 6 mornings/week. When I’m in town, I usually go and meet him. The meals are always consistently good, large portions, and really well priced. The best thing about a small town are the regulars. You see all the same faces each morning so it makes a great start to your day.

Best rack of ribs I’ve had in my entire life! So delicious! Got a half rack, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, beans, and a salad for just over $ 11. Totally worth it. Ribs were so tender and literally fell off the bone. DEFINITELY will go back.

I’ve been here for breakfast a few times and generally the food has been pretty good. However, this time I went for lunch and the food was pretty terrible. I ordered a burger, which was near burned. The onion has basically zero flavor, and the tomato was a barely red end piece with the middle missing from the stem. Basically, the burger was dry and lacked almost all flavor. I’m amazed at how little flavor this had. As for service, it was… meh. Was it bad? No. Was it good? No. Basically, the ladies did there job to a minimum. Never saw a smile or any effort of any kind to create a pleasant atmosphere. It was just them walking around placing things on tables and writing down my order. This is an area in which a small town place like this should shine. Heck, I’d even come back to give the food another try if I there was a little effort to be friendly, smile, share a joke or anything with the customer as to not give the impression of «I can’t wait until it’s time to get off work.»

I ate breakfast here on Memorial weekend and this place was top of their game. 5 stars for quality of food and service. It is family owned. Mom was cooking in back and the daughters were taking orders. I ordered the breakfast burrito. A large burrito that you can custom build. I had sausagez, egg, hash browns, and mushrooms. They ask if you want the hash browns on the side or in. They have great hash browns. It made for a great burrito. My son has the 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 meat combo. My new favorite breakfast spot.
