The first time I went in there, the lady was not excited about the fact that I had my kids with me and made several comments about how they should not touch anything. This was quite irritating because I take me kids to all kinds of antique shops and they have never misbehaved or touched/broken anything. Plus, they sell fudge and it’s called The Gingerbread House. I went back recently and the lady was rude again. She would let my mother use the bathroom except as a changing room. I was going to buy a necklace but as it turns out it was two pieces. I said I would think about it, not sure I wanted to buy two necklaces, and she put it back! The place has cute stuff but not very friendly staff.

This is super good ice cream here, brought in from Hawaii. They advertise it as being homemade, which I’m not sure where they get that idea, given that it is made by some company out of Hawaii, but it’s still very good

Sisters weekend in pine with our mother. After shopping the antiques store, icecream sounded amazing! So we stopped in, because who doesn’t love homemade icecream? First thing said to us as we walked in(keep in mind 8 adults) was, «I guess the bus just came in.» No smiles, no welcome, just people who apparently were not excited to work. Okay, can deal with rude customer service. Icecream was good, not great, but good. Not worth the crappy service. As one of my sisters got to the register, they took her card and then asked her if she had cash. She replied, «no, sorry». The attendant immediately started lecturing her about not having cash. Their sign says they accept cards over a $ 5.00 purchase but charge $ 0.50 cents. Okay, that’s what we did, you don’t lecture customers. The person serving me was rolling her eyes, whether to my sisters response or to the other persons treatment I can only speculate. Needless to say, we come to Pine a lot. Not that it matters to them, but we will not be offering them our business again. Guess service doesn’t come in this small town package. Really miss the Choo Choo icecream store.

Delicious ice cream. The Gingerbread House was packed on Saturday when we went, for good reason! The ice cream is Lappert’s, a Hawaiian company, and some of the flavors reflect this. I had a coffee flavored ice cream with coconut, fudge swirls, and macadamia nuts. It was rich, smooth, and creamy, with a strong coffee flavor. In addition to selling ice cream, part of the store has various antiques and knick-knacks available for purchase. Kind of an odd combo to me, but it does allow you to browse around after eating your delectable dessert.

Best homemade ice-cream ever. When I first got here, I wanted to walk right out. There were so many kids waiting for ice cream and the line was long… but then it is homemade… I can’t pass it up. Boy was I glad that I waited. I ordered a cookie and cream ice-cream on a waffle cone and it was absolutely delicious. It is creamy, soft yet not overly sweet. While enjoying the ice-cream inside the store, a local told us that the owner’s mother was from Hawaii(or used to live in Hawaii) and these ice cream is the recipe passing on to the current owner. I couldn’t help but taken a photo that was hung up on this wall to let everyone knows a story of this small local store. I also admired how nice the owner was even though it was so busy and packed inside this small store. If you are in town, I’ll definitely recommend u to stop by for a banana split or a simple small ice-cream cone.

Overpriced Homemade Ice Cream. Paid &8.23 for two single scoops. It was tasty but wouldn’t do it again.

Let me first start by saying great ice cream… but after all 8 of us walking in to get it with our kids and another family… we were treated less then welcome. We had been excited to try the ice cream here and were let down a little by the service. I would not say that they were rude but very dry and we overheard the owner scuf a little when we walked in. Not sure I would come back again… even though the ice cream was pretty good. Tiny little place with a soda pop type bar and antique store inside. There were only about 12 – 15 options but we all loved the ice cream… especially the kids.

The kahula n coffee truffle ice cream is AMAZING! I had to stop by 2 days in a row! On the second day, my wallet was left behind, n just recieved a call fron the bank letting me know that shirley had called it in for me! Amazing ice cream, awesome integrity, cute old décor, i love this place!

The antique shop is filled with junk and covered with dust and cobwebs and unfortunately some of that spills over into the ice cream shop. I loved the old fashioned décor… it is sort of like a very small 50’s style soda shop. They should get rid of the antique shop part so that there is room to maneuver up to the register and sit and enjoy your ice cream. The place got quite crowded once a couple other families arrived. Fortunately they do have seating outside, but even up in Pine, the sun can be brutal in the middle of a summer afternoon. The ice cream is nothing special in my opinion and they were out of pie the day that we were there so really overall 3 stars is being generous.

You can tell the owners put a lot of elbow grease on this little old house turned ice cream shop. It’s also a hodgepodge of nicknacks, trinckets and jewelry that I’ve decided a long time ago I won’t ever need. I thought the ice cream was home made – it’s actually Lappert’s Kauai ice cream. Never thought I’d see that in this little town… weird. The other Lappert’s we frequent is in Lahaina, Hawaii! My hubby and I each got a scoop of Kauai Pie ice cream(Kona coffee, toasted coconut, macadamia and choco fudge)! My cutie pie placed his face right onto the glass case and pointed to the coconut flavor. Lappert’s ice cream in the mainland, owned by the son, is made in Richmond, California and in no way affiliated with Lappert’s in Hawaii. There are similarities in the flavors with different names. I’m almost sure they are made the same way. If you’re craving for some Lappert’s…go to Pine Strawberry, Arizona for a fix!

They serve a dozen flavors of Lappert’s Ice Cream. They also sell some homemade pies and desserts. It’s a nice place, a little old house with crazy amount of knickknacks. A good place to relax after attending one of the Pine Strawberry Festivals. Friendly staff, ask for a sample.
