Moe’s Southwest Grill

It’s nacho ordinary cheese sauce! You know what to expect from Moe’s it’s like that reliable friend you always know will never betray you. The portions are good and the price is right. Did I mention the cheese sauce? I’d eat it alone, if I could. Tip: Try the honey Sriracha salsa!

This is my second time coming, and I’m so glad to see this new place near my home (the closest one to me is on Kendall and 120^th AVE.)
The place is clean, the food is great and the staff is pleasant. However, while they are always wearing gloves, in my last visit I noticed that one of the staff members did not have her hair pulled back. Everyone else working there was wearing caps or their hair was pulled back. But this one lady, wearing red, was preparing food at the counter with her hair dangling over her shoulders. It almost looked like she had just showered, because it looked like her hair was damp. I hope I don’t mean to make this a big deal, but I would really hate to later find a blond strand of hair in my burrito. Other than this observation, the place is a great place for the Pinecrest location!!!

Ive been to the restaurant 3 times since the opened and just have some basic observations I wanted to share with you.
1– The staff is great, always with a smile and wanting to help.
2– The food quality is sometimes great but sometimes not so great.
For example: the lettuce is not always the freshest and its usually water down, the avocado tasted sour on one of the visits, but the queso is AMAZING.
3– Location makes it easy to find parking and besides some light flooding in the lot, seems like a great choice.
4– Cleanliness: the bathroom has always been spotless and the kitchen looks good, the tables need some constant love, but when its busy I understand the tables not being clean immediately after a guest leaves.

I’ve been here quite a few times since they opened. This time I ordered the chicken club quesadilla. I thought that this was served warm. When I realized that the server wasn’t going to heat it, I asked for it warm. When I got it, it was as if it hadn’t been warmed at all. I think she put it in the foil on the grill and immediately took it back off. I was so disappointed because this is my favorite thing on the menu. I also got the queso dip, which was room temp/​borderline cold. Bummer. Hubby got the «ear muffs» burrito bowl with steak. He was actually craving it but said it was just okay when he got it. Got a soft beef taco for my son. He liked it but his favorite thing was the fruit punch Fanta from the fancy soda machine! Yay! At least there’s one happy customer.
I realize it’s new business and it has to work out some kinks but Moe’s really has to step up their game with so many other Mexican restaurants in close proximity. The only one that seemed to know what she was doing was the cashier whose name started with a «Y». I’m really hoping to increase the stars on this review soon because I want them to stick around.
