Have been to this place a good number of times and have never been disappointed by the quality of food or the décor at this place. I have always appreciated the fact that it is the one of the very few completely vegetarian restaurants around. The staff here is relatively friendlier than the one in Chand Palace at Parsippany. Although buffet is priced a little higher compared to Indian restaurants serving buffet lunch and dinner, the quality, taste and the whole experience makes it worth it. Would always recommend it to food lovers.

Best Indian vegetarian buffet in NJ. Enough said!!! Oh well… Its not long enough for Unilocal to call it a review so… Go on a weekend plan to spend a couple of hours eating relaxing and then repeating. The options are kinda endless. Apps are fantastic, service is great, desserts are«I need to stop eating».

Chand Palace had catered for our daughter’s wedding last weekend and their service was fantastic! Their attention to details was unsurpassed. All our guests were raving about their food at the cocktail hour and dinner buffet. Every thing was freshly prepared and perfect. I would definitely recommend them for their catering services. Mr. Vishal is a wonderful person to work with. Great customer service and very professional.

The attendant is super rude, has no manners. Instead of accepting their mistake went on and on arguing in a very bad tone. Good restaurant, too bad its going to be loosing customers because of one man’s attitude problem.

Chand Palace owners considers this place as the best in NJ but in reality, its not even close. Below is my review of the Saturday Lunch Buffet. 1. Idli/Vada, Good. Nice and fresh 2. Sambhar, Taste was okay okay 3. Dosa, Size was as big as my finger. Haha, what joke. 4. Naan, Served at table and served fresh. Nice 5. All Sabzis, very very average. We could not have more than 2 – 3 morsel each. Am sorry but we ended up wasting them 6. Deserts, Have a very nice selection and variety. And some of them was good if not wow Taste 5⁄10 Value for Money 5⁄10

We came here for MLK day, It was a buffet style for dinner which is great because I can get to try everything and dont need to commit to anything I do not like. The place was almost full with majority of the patrons being Indian which tells me this place is probably authentic. It was a Monday night, even with the place nearly packed, the noise level wasnt too bad. The service was quick too. I tried everything and I loved everything. They gave you fresh naan and things I do not know the name of. My Indian friend brought me here and I’m glad she did.

I do not understand the good ratings here. Why would anyone pay 20 $ for the food of someone else’s choice? I did not feel it was worth the money. Fried items were too cold. Soup was not tasty No south indian dishes at all except for a small dosa. Gratuity really? for a buffet? Surprised!!! Spice level was not good, all bland stuff. Jalebi were cold. pav bhaji — pav was cold. why did i pay 42 $ for 2 people god knows.

Chand Palace is certainly a popular place among the Indian community in New Jersey. They have tables that seat 10 people or that seat 2 people. Very family friendly and pretty good service. It was filled on a Friday night, where the vegetarian buffet is available for about $ 18(makes it easier on you — no menu’s!). We were seated immediately and headed straight for the buffet. I’ve never been to a vegetarian Indian buffet, so I’m usually used to my masala’s and tandoori’s, but you know what, why not try everything? There’s a good variety — you have a little salad bar, your typical chutney’s, naan, and lots of delicious fried foods. Excuse me that I cannot recall the names(thankfully they are all properly labelled and each have a description of what is inside and if there is garlic or onion used). Noodles, rice, flavorful(almost too much — it’s very spicy!) sauces. There’s also ice cream(lemony vanilla!) and other sweets. Overall good experience. I thought it was a bit too spicy for me, but if you can handle the heat, definitely recommend.

I am of Indian origin and my wife is Russian. Before we came across this Chand Palace in Piscataway, we had eaten in many Indian restaurants across NY and NJ. Never came close to feeling satisfied the way one is with good, home cooked food. Plus, most of them didn’t pass muster with my wife’s Euro sensibilities for cleanliness. Then three years ago, we stumbled on this place because we saw it while visiting a neighboring shop. Boy, is this place completely different from your average Indian restaurant! For starters, it is clean. And the staff are actually pleasant and attentive, not sullen or indifferent. The variety of food preps on offer is mind-boggling, and changes daily. The food is cooked fresh for lunch and for dinner. It doesn’t sit there marinating and over– cooking on the flame. It is actually fresh. And very nicely spiced and prepared. The owner Sunil Sethi is almost always around. He goes from table to table and makes sure everything is fine. He is a fantastic cook himself. And the service is top grade. We now go every single week. And have practically stopped going to any other restaurant. I have friends who make the(expensive and) long trip across the Verazzano Bridge from Brooklyn and Long Island to come eat here! And from Philly. We ourselves live 40 miles to the north in NJ and come here(even though the Chand Palace in Parsippany is only 18 miles from us). That CP restaurant(in Parsippany) is good, but it’s not nearly as good as the one in Piscataway. This Chand Palace(in Piscataway)? I would rate it a solid 9.5 to 10. No exaggeration. Go eat there if you haven’t tried it before! Book ahead on weekends as it gets packed.

Food is good I would say. We went to dinner for buffet on Diwali night, ambiance and greeting by staff is good. I should have given rating 4 stars if Gratitude is not part of the bill. Its buffet, what is there to serve except NANs and dosas, perhaps every restaurant does that in NJ. Also, size of dosas is quite small like an item of kids bufffet.

Chand Palace sits in a set of shops at Centennial Ave in Piscataway. It is a vegetarian restaurant that serves authentic Indian cuisine. We reached there on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and it was one of those days when we had not had a good breakfast like we usually do. Decent space for sitting and some typical Indian décor. The place serves a buffet lunch and dinner is usually off the menu. The Sunday buffet was a generous spread of appetisers amongst which I liked the veg pakoras and the chat station to be really nice and fresh. The salad accompaniments were quite exhaustive too. Also the chef prepared dosas which we could have had while we were yet to start the mains. The pav bhaji was a very nice touch and was one of the best authentic tasting dish I had there. The mains had some typical aloo and paneer fare but also had a Chinese rice and soya gravy dish which was really well made. The rotis and naans are brought fresh to the table and are served hot. The dessert spread was phenomenal. …rasmalai, fruit custard, gulab jamuns and they also had a chocolate fountain which I am sure that the kids would have loved. Fresh fruit was on offer too as well as some mango lassi as well. Understated but with great tasting food, Chand Palace is truly a sincere effort to brining Indian food to hungry people in and around the area.

We enjoyed a nice dinner with our parents who were also impressed by the quality of vegetarian food, and the desert options. Pros: + vegetarian-only restaurant(also has jain options, no onion, no garlic) + polite restaurant staff + excellent variety of deserts + good quality of nearly every dish we tasted Cons: — slightly over-priced — congestion near buffet table

Went there for the first time to try their vegetarian buffet. Being a non vegetarian, I was surprised to see so many delicious vegetarian dishes. They had an amazing range of appetizers like manchow soup, idlis, pakodas(green chilly, eggplant). I tried the cheese mini samosa and fell in love with it. I must have eaten 45 of them. Their main course comprised of mostly of mouth watering dishes like chole bature, paneer, and other standard dishes. Their fried rice tasted yummy, one of the best I ever had. They had a separate counter for desserts and I was totally amazed by the number of items they had. It comprised of juices such as mango lassi, fresh lime soda all included with buffet and fruit salad, strawberries which one can chocolate coat it, chikki, kheer(rice pudding), rasmalai, gajar halwa, gulab jamun, jalebi and soan papdi. The staff were very nice and we’re also taking mini dosa orders included in buffet. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. U will only go back home satisfied and with a big full stomach.

Why five star food and service. Ww went at a family of six to try weekday buffet, my wife has been there before but for me this was first time. Food was tasty for starter they had soup(don’t remember the name) samosa, eggplant fingers, palak pakora, fried ildli, pani puri, and more(papad, three different kind of chatani). For main course they had cauliflower Manchurian, aloo matter, palak saag, butter paneer, dal, sambhar. Two different kind of rice(not a big rice eater). For sweet they had watermelon, ice cream, gulab gamun, gajar halwa, galabi, mango lassi, lemonade. Over all really good food we did looked at the menu which was same like other places ohh also we took jeera soda which was bit sweet. Final word we will go back again

I’ve only had food delivered from here because: 1. I’m too lazy to step out 2. I still need my Indian food fix I ordered food enough for 2 meals, so there was the Veg Pulao, as well as the naan and Palak Paneer to go along with it. I do this for 2 reasons — firstly, it’s for multiple meals as I already mentioned. I repeated just in case you weren’t paying attention. Secondly, I like the look of severe judgment mixed with borderline amusement on the face of the delivery person when they see that it’s all just for one person. :) I must specify that I had ordered on a very wintery, snowstormy kinda day and was half expecting them to not show up at all, or worse, call and cancel and leave me to starve unto death. Not only did the food arrive on time, and was everything I could have hoped for, but they also tossed in a free order of gulab jamoon. Now THAT’S the kind of customer service that’ll stay with you, make you give a generous tip, and write a glowing Unilocal review. There are(Indian) places which think they’ll go bankrupt if they serve you rice with a side-dish, which is expected from any half-decent restaurant. And there are places like Chand Palace, which go the extra mile and make sure you have a pleasant experience. I definitely had an A-grade food coma once I was done here. Good job guys!

As always, this place is great. Lunch and dinner both have buffets and everything is vegetarian. People have stated in other review thats there is not a big selection, yet every time I got there are 4 – 5 appetizers, 6 – 7 entrees, sides plus a whole dessert area. Weekends have even more selection. I think the selection and the price are reasonable considering how much Indian food usually costs and how much time it takes to prepare. I find that the food is always fresh and tastes great. I have taken a few non-vegetarians here and they have never complained that they missed the meat options. The hosts/managers that seems to be around are always super nice and service is better than average for an Indian restaurant. Overall, a great restaurant.

While I’m not a vegetarian this is one of the best Indian buffets I have been to. I almost did not miss all the tasty animals I usually enjoy at other buffets. The food is extremely fresh and there is always a huge selection of items to choose from. The daal is always outstanding and the aloo dishes are fantastic. Plenty of sides and condiments to add more flavor to your plate. They also have sweets and desserts if you somehow managed to leave room. The restaurant is very clean, large and accommodating. The staff if friendly and the prices are great. Highly recommended.

DELICIOUS! First off, pani puri… the water was so good, make it yourself! And at the buffet meaning I could recreate the scene where I stuff 20+ … Indo-chinese dishes too! The food — all very flavorful(buffet), plenty of food, and since it was a pretty packed restaurant, the food stayed warm and fresh. Everything is vegetarian, but a meat eater like me had no complaints! Paneer Makhani was definitely my favorite! Chocolate fountain with strawberries next to plethora of desserts was a lovely touch! Staff — very friendly, always stopping by to check on us… bringing us naan and dosas. Also trying to give us suggestions for how to enjoy the foods. Would love to come back here if I’m ever in town.
