Great food, best indian authentic food in NJ. Chef’s special chicken biryani is too good.

Worst food. Worst experience. Want to give a zero… Felt compelled to write this while eating at the place. That’s how bad it is

THE worst Indian food I ever had in my life. Would like to give negative stars if available.

This place has absolutely delicious food! We were so impressed. The portions are generous and everything we tried was amazing. Staff is super nice too!

Visited the restaurant today based on the positive reviews but was highly disappointed. In short, the experience was fast food like but priced like 4 star restaurant. For $ 10+ a dish, I would expect the food to be served in bowls rather than styrofoam. Service was sub par to almost non existent while the food was very salty. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

I read all of the reviews and decided to give this spot a try. My wife is not a fan of Indian food so this is my individual indulgence. I decided to phone in an order for pick up. Tandoori chicken, chicken vindaloo and samosas seemed to fit my cravings. It took a full 30 minutes for the order to be ready which is good as the food is prepared fresh. The tandoori chicken was extremely good. It was well seasoned and came as two leg quarters. The vindaloo was decent, I asked and was told that the medium was spicy but it wasn’t. Still flavorful though. The samosas are well seasoned and ended up being the spiciest item of the meal. They paired well with the delicious tamarind chutney. I’ve been to most of the non-vegetarian Indian restaurants in the area and like this one the best.

Fantastic food and very friendly service! My wife and I found Spice Palace on Unilocal and because of the high reviews we tried it and we’re just blown away by the quality of the food. Our host was also both friendly and informative and made some wonderful suggestions to expand our palate. We have been back often and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Been here many times in the past and its looks to be a small family owned restaurant with quality food. The people are funny to talk to and the lunch combo offers alot of food for the same price you’d expect to pay at chipotle or panda express. Definitely recommend giving this authentic food a try.

Wonderful Indian spot tucked away off a highly trafficked commercial road. My co-workers and I went on a lunchtime adventure to find some good eats and I had found this place on Unilocal and thought I’d give it a try. We arrived and it is a small place with not a lot of seating. It the food is why you do want to go there. I always order the sag paneer and chicken tiki masala. During lunch they offer a lunch special with a daily veggie and non-veggie dish with naan and basmati rice for a great price! My fiancé and I always frequent there. We absolutely love it and I am going to pick up our order right now lol Whether you stay in or take out, you will not be disappointed at all.

A very conventional south indian style restaurant with very tady food. The main asset of this restaurant is that you are going to get the same indian food but with a different and refreshing taste. The food is very tasty and spicy. Had this type of food after a long time. I highly recommed this restaurant to everyone. It has mom’s cooked food touch to it :-)…ghar ki yaad aagayi…

Food is good for sure. A bit pricy for small portions. Been there many times so it is consistent.

I laugh when I see reviews talking about«ambience». As a foodie… I’m going for the food. I do not care about chairs, walls, statues, pictures and all the other superficial crap. I came to eat bruh!!! I ordered the Chicken Tikka and Garlic Naan. It was amazing. Chicken was cooked perfectly and the Naan, crispy yet soft. I had some left over at home. I took sharp provolone and grilled the bih up. It made for an awesome sandwich. The guy there was very nice and personable. Since I work near by, I will be back.

This is the kind of Indian restaurant natives will visit and your expectations should be limited to the food: not a place to go to look posh and cultured, really, it’s a place to get solid Indian food. This is not to say the establishment isn’t impeccably clean and comfortable. It’s an intimate space, well-maintained, and the service is great: down-to-earth guys serving good with a good sense of humor. The servings are ample — you will probably need to take some food home with you. It’s one of the few places where you can get Paneer Tikka without the staff reacting like you’ve ordered freshly killed Venison from New Hampshire in the middle of Jersey. I have no idea why this dish is so difficult for some restaurants, it just seems to be. But these guys serve it and nail it. The meats were cooked exactly as they should, tender and abundant in their sauces, the rice was perfect and all the appetizers were top-notch — frankly, you could feel completely full after the appetizers but I’d highly recommend you take leftovers home so you can sample more stuff. Great place.

First time eating South Indian cuisine. Wonderfully helpful server and incredible food. No ambiance… paper plates and plastic ware but overlook that and go here because the food is outstanding!!!

Definitely a hole in the wall restaurant. It’s family owned – and they’re pretty lazy and slow about their service. The prices are on the higher side and the portions are tiny. HOWEVER, the food is excellent! As an Indian, I’m pretty averse to trying out new Indian restaurants… why pay so much for a mediocre fare when my mother can make the same thing 10x better? However, this place is quality! The food is very flavorful like South Indian food should be and they adjust well to your spice tolerance. Normally I ask for«extra spicy» in other places only to have the food come out mild to medium(admittedly, my tolerance is very high). I love that a spicy label here means me sniffling back snot and wiping away tears while enjoying the awesome food! Been here around ~15 times and the food is just as great as the first time. Still come here after graduating from Rutgers. well worth the 40 min drive from my town. Try the chicken vepedu! :)
