As the name says, it’s always Friendly service when I come here. The food however is not nearly as friendly. Unappetizing appearance, bland tasting food, and the look of something from the 1980s. However the ice cream is still the best reason to stop by, anytime of day. My mom and I came for breakfast and a cold treat, which is what we got, with the surprise of having the place to ourselves.

Be careful with the food, I got food poisoning for 2 days of hell. Just go for the ice cream, which is what we should have done!

Do not come here … Worst breakfast experience I have had… Arrived at 910am, waited 15 minutes for coffee. Ordered at 925 am– received food at 950am — waited 25 minutes for breakfast — eggs/French toast /sausage … Not rocket science .on top of that French toast was undercooked and not edible . Do not come here

This is my Friendly’s of choice, even though Old Bridge is closer to my house. The restaurant is very clean and the employees are very friendly. The food tastes really good as well. The restaurant is small and has a «cute» feel to it. It’s a good restaurant and I highly recommend it.

I really don’t know why this friendlys is rated so bad. It’s no different from other friendlys so you know what to expect and I would even say that it is one of the locations I like better. It’s never really too crowded, the people are friendly(like the name suggests), and the food is its usual friendly’s self. I got a cookies and cream ice cream sundae and I enjoyed it a lot! Also it was very affordable; if you’re looking for an affordable dessert option in the area friendly’s is a good option.

Was here yesterday after a wake. Needed some cheering up, so I went to food. Food and ice cream were great, but OMGTHEWAITRESSESARECLUELESS!!! Probably the worst service I’ve ever had. And the girl we had was actually training another girl. Slow, lazy, forgetful, unattentive. It was not busy at all, so I don’t know what the problem was, but the service was HORRIBLE!!!

This is the worst Friendly’s I’ve ever been to. First, I can’t believe neither bathroom has a changing station. My husband had to change our 2 year old standing up in the restroom. Not only that, but when he locked the bathroom for privacy it did not work and someone walked in. Second, I ordered my favorite item I have been ordering since college — a tuna melt. Usually they are served warm with melted cheese. This was not the case. I sent it back to be heated only to get it back still barely warm and at this point the fries were cold. At least my ice cream was warm and melted :(Third, no one bothered to clean any of the tables around us or even ours. Flies were running rampant from table to table because of all the mess. The bill was not inexpensive and what we got(food and environment included) was certainly not worth it.

Even though my taste buds have become much more sophisticated then when I was a little kid, Friendly’s ice cream will ALWAYS be a guilty pleasure of mine. Feeling adventurous, I strayed away from my usual«Monster Mash» and tried the Cookies & Cream sundae. I was torn between ordering a small or medium size, but decided on the small. My initial thought when the sundae was placed in front of me was, «Thank god I didn’t order the medium!» The small size was a very generous portion– PERFECT size! I was completely satisfied with my sundae. The ice cream had a strong flavor and soft creamy texture, which is consistent at all Friendly’s locations. This location has a separate ice cream window that leads to outside so you can order ice cream to go. The staff was noticeably sweet and upbeat at this Piscataway location, and definitely live up to the name Friendly’s! If you’re looking for ice cream, Friendly’s is hands down the BEST in the area.

Friendly’s? Not so friendly at all. You would think they could atleast seat you at a table? Waiting 10+ minutes just to be seated seems ridiculous & what’s worse is that most of the place was already empty. All we wanted was ice cream, but it’s not worth it going here. Horrible service. Ended walking out, couldn’t wait to see how horrible the rest of the service would have been. Go to Petrucci’s for ice cream!

I went there about a week ago for breakfast, never again. The server seemed like we were bothering his phone time. The juice glass had little black things stuck on the inside of it. I opened up my knife and fork, and the knife was so dirty it had old food still stuck on it. So gross. The food was’nt that bad, but to many other gross problems. Never again!

My family and I came in to eat for my son’s 1st birthday. The staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Our waitress was Amazing, I forget her name but she new the whole menu, had great recommendations and was very attentive :). The food was really yummy. I created my own burger – which was not overcooked – added fresh avocado, bacon, a delicious red pepper and garlic sauce, onions – really delicious. We also order a kids meal(mac and franks), the friendly Frank and the BBQ chicken melt. Everyone was very satisfied with their meals. If you’re looking for a family friendly restaurant with yummy food and ice cream and a a great staff head to Friendly’s! The only issue I found was the bathroom did not have a changing station, which is weird because e it’s a family restaurant. But overall great experience.

Great service! Great hamburger. Good place to just grab a bite to eat. The ice cream is what counts here.

I came in to grab an ice cream cake and go. It took 5 minutes to find someone capable to ring my order. They offered to write something on the cake. It took them 10 minutes just to start the writing process. My quick trip to pick up an ice cream cake turned into a 25 minute trip. Definitely will not come back.

I went here like. two weeks ago? Not sure when they got a new manager because this place USED to be okay when Jodi was here, but whoever is the general manager right now clearly has his head up his ass. Nobody knows what’s going on, the food comes out ridiculous late or not cooked enough(gross), and all of the servers are clearly brand new and have no clue what’s going on. They’re polite and seem to be trying – I’ll give them that.(That’s literally the only good thing I can think of). When a friend and I were there(waiting in vain for food), I could hear him shouting and cursing at the cooks in the kitchen — what the hell, unprofessional much? Oh, and GETTHIS. We asked to see the manager before we left and when our server went in to tell him, we heard him say, «Tell them I’m not there. I don’t want to talk to them.» And then we heard him send one of the other servers(clearly NOT the manager) to come see us. Who does that? Obviously we were not pleased, but it’s not like we were going to go running into the kitchen looking for this asshole. I’ve had two other friends come here after recently and I’ve heard the same things from them. Dunno what’s up with the new management, but stay the hell away from here until they get a new general manger.(Honestly, at this rate, I predict that this location will close within the year… and good riddance).

Reminded me of Lord of the Flies — it looked like all the adults were gone as 7 high school kids tried to solve the mystery of how to make an ice cream cone. The whole scene actually provided some comedic relief, which was fortunate since it took about 20 minutes to get a scoop at the outdoor window despite being the only people there.

This store is absolutely the worst. I literally just came back from what I thought would be a nice ice cream treat as I was getting my oil changed at Pepboys. Oh boy– the staff are completely unapologetic for any possible wrongs and you can see they learned it from their bullish blonde store manager. There is no humble quality found in the store manager or the waitress I had this afternoon. Ordering ice cream is supposed to be simple. Friendly’s is supposed to be friendly. Neither are true here. 1. Everything was good up until I recieved my order. I ordered a three-scoop sundae with three different flavors. The ice cream I got was almost completely liquified(don’t know why– maybe they delayed in giving it to me). 2. I asked the waitress for a small bowl– it was so difficult to eat the ice cream since the way they piled it made almost impossible to get to the ice cream at the bottom. 3. I waited a few minutes. She did not get me the bowl. 4. The store manager came around and at that point I realized the ice cream was totally liquified(it took me a while to realize this since the ice cream was all at the bottom hard to get at with the spoon without completely toppling over all the toppings). I told her. 5. The store manager didn’t respond at first so I actually had to physically try to lodge up the liquid«ice cream» to show her. 6. You can’t really argue with liquid ice cream so she took it away unhappily– no apologies, nothing. 7. When I got it back the second time(still no bowl), the ice cream was ice cream, but I noticed two of the flavors were wrong — the top and bottom scoop were both vanilla. I felt like I would seem like a jerk for sending back an ice cream sundae for the second time so I decided to just bring it up at the end of the meal. I also gave up trying to ask the waitress for a small bowl(although it would’ve made eating the ice cream a lot easier). 8. I sat there for more than ½ an hour and after the manager had brought back that second sundae, the waitress never came around my table again. She did not ask how my ice cream was or apologize that it was completely liquid the first time. 9. During this time I whipped out a leisure book and started jotting some notes. 10. I was pretty sure the waitress was never going to check up on me again so I had to call her to wrap up the meal. I then began to voice my concerns on all of the above. I was hoping for at least an apology. Boy was I shit out of luck. The first thing I brought up was the bowl that I never recieved– she was like, «Well, my manager redid the sundae». Um. how are those two related? The bowl is a separate request so it’s easier to lop out the ice cream at the bottom and eat it without eating all the toppings first and then getting to the ice cream. Then I was like, «When the manager brought the redone ice cream back— it was wrong. There were two vanilla scoops instead of the flavors I asked for.» At this time, the manager stood on the side seriously frowning at me. She was like, «No I did those flavors myself. I did not give you vanilla. You ordered this this and this. No way.» Although she recited the flavors I ordered correctly, she was a complete and total JERK— insinuating that I was freaking lying about a freaking ICECREAM flavor. I know what I ate. But she refused to believe that she could have possibly made the order wrong(rule 1: customer is always right… especially when they’re RIGHT). She stood there glaring at me and it made for some pretty rude awkwardness. The least she could’ve done was apologize and said it was a misunderstanding. I should’ve showed her the ice cream was wrong before I finished it— here I thought I was being NICE by not wasting another ice cream and sending it back twice! Then I brought up to the waitress how she could’ve also asked me how the meal was or even dropped by the table during the 30 – 40 minutes I was sitting there. Once again, totally unapologetic, «But you were reading a book.» Um. I was not reading a book the whole freaking time. Even so it’s polite courtesy to check in— I’m not going to freaking bite your head off if you ask how my sundae is while I am writing something down. I saw her pass by my table at least 20 times in that time span, not so much a cursory glance in my direction. I know because I TRIED to make eye contact several times. Excuses. At the end of this exchange, the manager stormed off — no apologies– and the waitress got my other order to go– no apologies from her either. Guess they don’t like to hear the truth and they don’t like to admit their wrongs. If you can’t improve your ‘tude— maybe you shouldn’t be in restaurant services. If you can’t admit you’re wrong– even if you’re right– you shouldn’t be in a services industry. If you can’t admit you’re wrong when you’re wrong you shouldn’t be working, period. And if you can’t be friendly in a place called Friendly’s. Well, shit!
