Standard seaside touristy shop with all the things you could every want with cheeky California sayings on them. We popped in to grab some taffy, it wasn’t too shabby. Nothing spectacular, but not bad, just straight olé taffy.

Typical little tourist shop in a touristy area that happens to offer taffy and ice cream cones. It appears to be artfully organized and the taffy prep area looked clean. We went in for a couple of ice creams. We got Rocky Road and Doc’s Java. Both were quite creamy, delicious and hit the spot. What didn’t hit the spot was the cashier. No sense of customer service not even a hint of a smile. More like one of the Stepford wives performing her programmed routine which included grabbing her own hair into a knot and then scooping my ice cream WITHOUT washing her hands. I would love to see her manager or Health Department Inspector make the same observation.

Been coming here for at least six years now. Ever since we discovered Pismo Beach and been visiting for vacation. This place has been a frequent stop to buy candy and other souvenirs for friends and family. Here they make taffy by hand from a old style taffy machine inside the store. If you come at the right time. You can actually see the owner himself crank out the taffy. It’s cool to actually see how they make the candy the old fashioned way. They sell taffy in different flavors and in small and big bags. They also sell the taffy by the piece. We always end up buying a few bags for co-workers. I have an old boss that I always buy a small bag for because she is such a big taffy fan. If your not in the mood for taffy. They also sell homemade chocolate and candied apples. The store also sells shirts, sweatshirts, shot glasses, postcards, etc. All of your souvenir needs for you, your family and friends. It’s a neat store in Pismo Beach that we enjoy visiting every time we are in town. Come here to buy your souvenirs or to come and satisfy your sweet tooth.

Damn good taffy. Freshly made and very tasty. Very touristy and the customer service is alright(gotta give the high school students a break). All in all went there multiple times to fill up on taffy and left satisfied.

I’ll first start by letting you know I live here and not just an angry tourist… This place is a true disappointment and an embarrassment for Pismo! The girl behind the ice cream counter is a raging b*tch. She acts like she hates her job and everyone that comes in. Besides the extremely rude attitude EVERY time we have gone in she has no clue what hygiene is. I actually watched her use a dirty rag to wipe around the ice cream and let the nasty dirty rag water drip into the ice cream itself. NASTY!!! Guess I’ll have to drive from now on. I hope the owner reads this and does something about their employee.

Don’t know what all this negativity is about. I like their taffy! Yes, it’s super touristy up in there but I was a tourist! My favorite flavors: orange & molasses. :P Maybe I was drunk cause I even liked the ice cream. Oh and the peanut butter chocolate was SOO yummy too. Don’t know the name of it though :[. Gonna go eat a taffy now bye.

Fun little candy shop that is similar to all the ones you’ll see in touristy areas in California.

I have been to this candy store many times, and it never disappoints! Nobody can come close to the fresh caramel apples, especially the white chocolate kind. It has a laid back atmosphere and a nice selection of shirts and beach things, and friendly, helpful service. It’s a Pismo Beach tradition and it’s really fun to pop in and look around there.

Taffy was great not sure what the previous reviews had but I loved the strawberry strawberry banana and cinnamon. The girl checking us out was a lil impatient with us added items to purchase which was why I only gave it 4 stars. The customer service was just ok but the taffy was good

I tried the taffy; it failed horribly as any type of taffy. They should just give up on this. Don’t try it. I tried the coffee; its just coffee… Don’t get it if you don’t need it. This place is essentially a tourist trap. Its the only market/store before the beach so the location is PRIME; other than that, it offers nothing that is special. They do offer a range of items from food to clothes(which weren’t that costly). Easily a place you can pass up.

The pecan roll was so hard it almost broke my teeth and my stomach hurt after eating it. Who knows how old it was. Service by bored college students was annoying. Stay away!

This is a great place to take the kids while you are visiting Pismo. You can actually watch Tomasko make the fresh Taffy in-house. They sell many goods here for the tourists. It is a fun place for everyone to stop by when you’re in the area. Try the peppermint taffy that is the best!

Your average tourist trap, lots of Pismo and California related clothing and baubles, plus some treats at the counter and a taffy maker in the side room. I’ve watched them running the taffy maker once or twice, it’s pretty cool to see, but thanks to bad teeth I’m not a fan of eating it. The ice cream is ok, but the thing we always stop in for are the macaroons. Mmmm, chocolate dipped coconut goodness. The employees are always high schoolers, so the service is as lazy as you’d expect.

What’s to say? This place was disappointing. We were lured in because my daughter needed a bucket for the beach. It was about 8:40 at night. My wife saw they had Motor Oil ice cream and thought we could all get some. The girl behind the counter had other ideas, namely not selling any ice cream. My wife was told that they would not be selling any ice cream because they would be closing in 20 minutes. You read that right, not because they were closed, but because they were going to close. Pretty bold. Needless to say we steered clear the test of the stay and bought ice cream down the street from a Dreyer’s vendor who was happy to scoop us some delectables. Stay away, this time it was 20 minutes to close, next time may be an hour. It’s not worth the frustration put on you by girls that seemingly know nothing about customer service. Too bad we won’t be giving them any money next summer either.
