We have always been very pleased overall with the quality, taste and freshness of El Pollo Locos food and have patronized this Restraunt at many different locations that we have lived during our military career. We have always appreciated the military discount that we received and held them in high regards for their support. Unfortunately all of the above has proven to be untrue in the Clayton Location on two different occasions now. I can’t express how disappointed and upset we are. And, what a horrible representation of the El Pollo Loco Brand. Polite, courteous, and accommodating, are all very important traits that seem to be non existent among all of the employees. There appears to be no sense of regard for time and or desire to create an over all great customer experience to maintain a return customer base. Although the the official online website specifically states that they honor a «Military Discount» apparently it is at the discretion of each individual store and this location chooses not to honor our service members who serve our country. We were hopeful our 2nd experience would give us reason to think different but in actuality gave us confirmation that our original thoughts were on point! We don’t recommend anyone patronize this location unless you would like to have staff that prefers to argue with the customer and question your word when you mention that there appears to be missing items in your order. I couldn’t believe that we had paid not more than 10 min before getting our incomplete order and yet they now needed me to prove my honesty by walking back to my table and having to relocate the receipt in order to legitimize my requests for the missing food items. Such a DISAPPOINTMENT, we hope that someone can see the need to revamp this location starting with the staff and the very crucial training on «What a great overall customer experience should entail!

So, I usually go here for my lunch because it’s literally like 5 seconds away. Always great service, and always good food. I’m just a bit upset right now because I got a large Mac n cheese for the first time cause I wanted to treat myself. When I got to my break room I opened up the Mac and it’s not even filled up all the way. Like, for 7 bucks I expect it to be full. So disappointed.

Nothin’ wrong with this place, and trust me, I’ve eaten some pretty janky fast food. You don’t know desperation until you’re driving up I-5 in the middle of the night and all you can get is BK in Coalinga. That said, I’ve never been in this El Pollo’s drive thru, so maybe you’re crossing through a vortex on that side of the restaurant. Inside, the tables, floors, and counters are clean, the service in friendly, and the food comes fast and un-poisoned. We each had a 3 Tacos Al Carbon Combo($ 5.39) — 3 chicken tacos hooked up pretty well with meat, a bag stuffed with chips, a Coke, and all the salsa you want from the bar. Food was hot, fresh, and way healthier than other things you could be eating in that plaza. We’d come back anytime!
