Friendly’s

Just wanted to get an icecream at the window. Waited for a long time before a man came over just to tell us the lady was smoking and we had to wait! Waited some more till she came up and did apologize or nothing. Not going back

Typical Friendly’s …Family Friendly Very confusing to try to use coupons… what things are one the menu that are considered «entrees». Sneaky ways to pad the bill. Note: There are a few less expensive alternatives but you have to «study» the menu to find them. Worth the time.
BUT THE SERVICE
It was EXCELLENT ! The waitress was pleasant and dealt with the children so well. She was patient with me and my coupons. Her name was JESSICA !

The only reason this is two not one is because my family played monopoly on the tablet. Even though the screen was greasy food from the people that came before us. The salad I got didn’t fit on my plate and it was 90% green peppers and chicken. The new booths are unstable and I could feel the person behind me’s every movement. It’s almost like friendly’s thought they won the lottery and spent too much money before they checked in their ticket so they had to downgrade. My chocolate milk was the size of a shot glass and my rootbeer float had like a teaspoon of ice cream and warm rootbeer.

We went there for lunch, place was packed. There was a guy walking around, I guess he knew other people at another table. He was yelling Hail Hitler. Four waitresses, nothing said or done, at all. We left. Will never go back if the people that work there allow such bullshit.

My 5 stars are relative to other friendly’s. We went for dinner at a busy time. But we got a seat right away, had very good (Friendly’s) food, and fast nice servers. Had a very good friendly’s experience.

Take out area was disgustingly dirty. The server was covered in ice cream. Not going back.

We stopped by friendly’s today to grab a quick lunch, first of all we were wrong to think it would be quick. Then the musty, moldy, mildew smell that hits you upon entering. The bathroom was cleaner and smelt better than the diningroom. The food was mediocre, the bun was greasy, but the burger it’s self was great. The toast was too hard and I only got like 10 fries. And that wallet thing they put the check in had so many greasy finger prints on it we didn’t even touch it. The waitress takes the credit card heads into the kitchen and begins eating after that she comes back to the diningroom and begins taking orders. Then she head to our table and realized she never checked us out and didn’t have the card. So back to the kitchen and returns with card in hand.

A bit careworn from the curb, like most stalwarts of the franchise, and a bit lonely, enisled as it is in the end of a parking lot and two busy cross streets on the east end of town, this Friendly’s is a bit perkier on the inside. It suffers as all Friendly’s do these days from a somewhat desultory and unpredictable kitchen; on our recent visit the kids’ selections came out tasting a bit of bland cardboard and obviously reheated, while the adults’ sandwiches were decently-​prepared. We did have very nice service, although we were crammed into a little booth instead of the many open bigger ones, apparently to keep one section of the restaurant clear for the busloads of tourists that will never come on a sleepy Sunday evening.
It will take a lot more than newly-​printed menus to lift Friendly from the abyss of mediocrity into which it has tumbled over the years, and this particular restaurant is in particular need of a facelift. But it’s just good enough to lure those nostalgic parents such as ourselves in given a dearth of other options, and the kids stay for the balloons (still sans helium). You could do worse, although if Denny’s gets balloons, watch out.

We visited for breakfast early. It had been several years since I’d been to this location. The restaurant has been refreshed, cleaned up, and was bright, colorful and cheerful. The menu has changed, they have some new things and some old favorites that are «classic» Friendly’s fare. Breakfast was very good, fresh and hot, plentiful refills on coffee and the waitress was very good and knew the menu in and out, she was helpful in answering all questions we had. In the past staff have been so, so. Good visit. The icecream as always is delicious, we bought some half gallons on the way out from the case. Nice improvements will visit again sometime.

This place is pretty good. The food is here somewhat fresh for the type of place it is. Service is sometimes slow but the staff is generally «friendly». Prices are reasonable and the ice cream cant be beat.
