Pupusas! Oh man I can eat about ten of these. Being half el salvadorian I’m so happy that there is a place in pittsfield that has authentic food. Don’t be put off by the modest décor. Give them a shot. Great salsas too.

This is a simple bakery with an old style lunch counter, but what makes it special is the selection of Salvadoran foods. In addition to their donuts, cookies, and pastries, they offer breakfast and lunch items. This spot offers some menu items not easily found in western Massachusetts:(authentic) tacos, empanadas, and pupusas! Yum! Hubby and I popped in looking for small cookies to set out for an event, which they didn’t have, but we decided to stay for lunch. He had 3 chicharron & queso pupusas and I had 2 revueltas pupusas(pork, beans, & cheese). The staff(proprietors?) cooked them up from scratch upon order. They were served with curtido(fermented cabbage & carrots) and mild tomato salsa. Delicious. Together, with a drink, our lunch was under $ 15. I would definitely like to come back to try the empanadas or the huevos rancheros. Since they make some items from scratch, it can take a while, so you might want to see if you can call ahead. I recommend giving this place a try!

This is a modest bakery, run by a nice family. We only sampled the muffins(which are homemade), and they were delicious! They also serve traditional El Salvadorian food, and breakfasts, which we hope to try next time we visit!
