Bricks is the place to go to when on main st. in Placerville. The place has a great atmosphere being in a historic building and all. The place is pretty loud with all the brick walls, even though they try to dampen the sound with insulation and art. I personally like ordering the fried green tomatoes when I go in. You would think the grits don’t go with them but they do. They complement themselves very well. Last time I went I got the brick burger. It’s their house burger and it’s pretty good. They put a lot of sauce on it. It’s good but a little over the top. I think you will enjoy this place if you come. Just be ready for it to be a little loud.

One of the best kept secrets in Placerville. Serving local beers & wines and have a flavorful menu of meals. They have some of the best Baby Back Ribs I’ve ever eaten and the meat is always tender to pull off the bone. The wait staff has great attitudes and knows the food and beverages really well. I’ve bee to a few places where the employees don’t eat the food and don’t know the menu at all. This I not the case with Brick’s. Looking forward to my next visit to Brick’s.

This place is awesome. The waitress was well versed in gf, even knew about cross contamination… holy shit, right!!! Anyway, had a gf veggie burger, which was amazing, on gf bread and a salad. I would skip the bread, as it didn’t hold up to the burger, which isn’t too surprising for gf bread. I’d totally come back here!

Sweet potato planks, yes! Calamari, not too big and yum! The Bricks burger, mayo and add bacon and avo. Winner! Drinks were perfect and most of all server and staff were the friendliest we have seen in years.

A solid gem in Placerville! Over the years I felt like I had sampled all Placerville had to offer, so was pleasantly surprised to find Brick’s. Stopped in after a crappy 3 hour slog from South Lake to wet the whistle, lessen the road rage, and fill the belly. Check, check and def check! The ambiance is very warm and welcoming. Being on a solo mission for the weekend I dined in the bar. The bartenders were awesome — very attentive and friendly to chat with. The bar itself was very cozy with high top tables plus ample bar seating. The actual restaurant looks fairly spacious as well. Decided to sample off the«small bites» menu. Boy that’s an understatement right there! The Gangnum Tacos come as three very heartily stuffed tacos with delicious fillings. Wanted something a little healthy so went with some Brussels sprouts… yeah that was a delicious plateful that I made my way through about half of. Wine list has great options as does the beer menu having some great unique beers. All around, I was very impressed with the place and give it one of the best options in Placerville!

Service really bad at our table. Older lady chatted with table next to us for 5 minutes before asking us for drinks etc. then she disappeared for another 15 minutes. Another server came to ask us for our food order thank God.

They were able to accommodate our large party and didn’t even blink at my food allergy. I loved my salmon and my son really liked his lamb chops. On my list to visit again!

I really love this place. We stop by here after hiking usually and get food and beer. They always have a great beer selection and this time we split a Sante fe turkey sandwich. Very tasty as was the burners we had last time we stopped here. I highly recommend stopping here if in the area. The staff is always great too.

The lady picked this place and it was a good choice. There on Saturday night so I expected a wait. Not much but had a drink in the bar. The beer selection looked very diverse. If you know beer better than I do you probably understand it. Quite a few were advertised with the alcohol level over 7%, some even 10%. I’m not able to drink right now so I had to sit back and look. This is wine country and the wine list looked excellent as well. We had an appetizer, a cheese dip thing which was advertised. I had the lamb chops. I let the cook decide how to do them. I believe there is only one correct way to cook rack of lamb style chops. They were done correctly. The mashed potatoes were creamy with slight seasoning. The vegetables crisp and fresh. The lady ordered chicken cavatappi. It looked like a real high end Mac and cheese. She really liked it however it was pretty large and some came home. Desserts were pretty nice. This place is good solid American food with no pretense. If you like beer and wine even better. Family friendly but you could be adults as well.

We loved this place! Totally worth the wait for a table. Great customer service, nice atmosphere, wonderful food. We came to town for the art walk and found our new favorite spot to eat in this town. We started off with the zombie killer hard cider, my new favorite! Had a good side salad with vinaigrette. I’m mam had the prisco burger with sweet potato planks. I had a Bo Peep burger. NOTETOCHEF«It was so big I felt like I had to make out with it first. It was so good it felt like a sin so I had to stop for a moment. I loved it!» I love this town more every time I visit and you guys made it that much better. Thank you so much!

Finally let me down a little. Waitress forgot to bring the salad until one minute before the entrée. Then she acted like she didn’t forget it. Do better! The beef medallions were great! But the amount of noise generated by the drunks at the bar was kind of an annoyance. I usually give this place 5 stars.

I wanted to check this place out for my birthday dinner this year since it seems like we’ve tried everything in the area already without much to get excited about. Initially my parents both questioned my choice of Brick’s — indicating to me that they must have already dined there and deemed it not good enough to return to. Unfortunately there are no reservations, only first come first serve, so we decided to arrive after 7:30pm. The dining room is somewhat casual on a Saturday night, with many families and children crowding the room. For a table for four we were asked to wait about 15 minutes which allowed some time to enjoy a round at the bar before being seated(very promptly, as it turned out). The bartender made my mom’s lemon drop to her specifications, and personally I thought the atmosphere in the bar was preferable to the dining room. There is no seated waiting area, so patrons either wait outside or awkwardly mill about in front of the door(next to our table). I was initially unimpressed with the menu selections… everything is on the safe, somewhat generic side, so I didn’t have high hopes that I’d be especially impressed with the dishes. I asked the waitress for her opinion on the shrimp victor or New York steak. She said the shrimp victor was«very good» but ultimately I asked her to surprise me! For appetizers we ordered the Brussels sprouts and calamari. The Brussels sprouts were especially well prepared and probably the plate that I enjoyed most. Our waitress placed our dinner orders right away but thoughtfully timed everything so that we’d had adequate time to enjoy our appetizers and drinks without being rushed into the next course. She also promptly asked if we wanted another round before our glasses were entirely empty, which I really appreciated(I hate an having empty glass)! My husband had the lobster cavatappi(which was a huge portion) dad ordered one of the meat dishes and mom got the cobb salad. My meal was the steak. I felt that my food was cooked pretty well but everything tasted bland(though to be fair, I sometimes have a tendency to over-season). The steak didn’t have any noticeable seasoning on it, not even salt, though it was served with caramelized onions on top. The vegetable medley tasted like plain steamed vegetables without a hint of salt, pepper or butter. All the veggies seemed to have been cooked together, so while the zucchini was perfect, the green beans and bell peppers were a little too crunchy still(and the broccoli looked like it was from last week). The potatoes au gratin were delicious and the only thing that seemed to have any salt in it. Everyone was satisfied with their orders but no one was able to finish everything on the plate. Overall I was satisfied with the experience, but would not return to try anything else on the menu. Staff gets an A+. Chef gets a C. Location gets a B — it would have felt more upscale if people waited in the bar area instead of looming over me as I ate.

Came back again with the Twin to try Brick’s again. It’s still a hit or miss. Once again, the service was great. The server was knowledgable and gave great suggestions especially on my drink. Food came out in a timely manner. Lunch was definitely more mild than the dinner crowd. Pear martini: sweet, tastes like pear, pretty delicious in a refreshing way. Stout cheese dip with tortillas: meh. It’s just a glorified cheese dip. It was nothing amazing. Cajun shrimp: $ 15 for 5 or 6 average shrimps with a huge block of cheesy bread was a little pricey. The cajun sauce was completely overpowered by the hot sauce(Louisiana? Frank’s?). Lamb lollipop was DELICIOUS! 3 delicate pieces for about $ 15. The rubbing on it was spicy and tasty if a little underseasoned. The relish that came with is was generic and not that yummy. Tasted like it was mixed with Heinz relish. The kale and carrot salad didnt have much taste but it was very healthy. The Twin had a beet and goat cheese salad with steak. She said the steak was overdone and tasteless. The greens of the salad was a little mushy but that could’ve been because the beet still held a lot of water and was making the salad wet. The dressing on the side was mainly oil. The kid menu cheeseburger was DELICIOUS! Great fries and an awesome tasting burger. The Twin was basically jipping my kid of his lunch because she kept eating it.

I have been to Brick’s a couple of times before and have also had a great experience here! I always get the Blackened Salmon BLTA. There is probably about 4−5oz of salmon with crispy bacon, half of an avocado, and juicy tomatoes on a brioche bun. It usually comes with cream cheese, but I’m not a cream cheese fan usually. It is a really great and filling sandwich! The fries are good and you get a nice size salad too if you the healthier route. Family has also gotten the Santa Fe Melt, which has green chilies if you like those. It’s a little pricey for lunch, but I’m not in Placerville often, so it’s worth the cost for me. they also have a rotating selection of craft beers. Overall a great place to stop for lunch or dinner!

We showed up at 5pm on a Saturday, right before they got slammed. They were busy when we got there, but we were still able to get a table. After that, the line started out the door. Then I realized that it was Mother’s Day weekend, which may have explained some of the crowd. It was LOUD in there, between the packed restaurant and crowded bar. Not a place for quiet, intimate conversations. Our servicer was friendly and attentive, and our food came out fairly quickly for how busy they were. The have a decent selection of plates, sandwiches and salads. I opted for the grilled cheese with fried green tomato, and my husband got the salmon blta. His sandwich was impressive: large chunk of salmon, half an avocado, on a huge roll. He devoured it. My sandwich was good but not great: there was way more tomato than cheese. The fries were excellent though. Prices are good — we were out of there for just over $ 20. I will be back.
