Great salsa and chips. I had the Cascada fajita appetizer, it is the size of a meal, and my wife had the burrito. The food was Great! The Service was excellent. The entire facility was spotless! Will be back for sure.

Nice fresh nouvelle Mexican food in a beautiful room. It was the perfect place to relax with my 11 year old granddaughter after a day of 100 degree heat and lots of driving in the mountains. We couldn’t resist ordering the guacamole and were not disappointed. We both had taco with carnitas. My only disappointment was that for the safety of the general public I had to resist the wonderful array of mixed drinks. Unfortunately, I cannot drink and drive!

When we want to have a nice dinner out to celebrate something special, we go to Cascadas. The food never disappoints. I’m not a big Mexican food fan, but their dishes are classy and tasty. My favorite is Salmón Asesino, a salmon dish stuffed with cilantro rice and topped with capers. Yum! It’s not your typical Mexican restaurant. No cheesy stereotyped decorations, which is a good thing. My only negative comment is that the waiters and waitresses could try to be a bit more personable and friendly/warm. They do their job, though.

Best chips, salsa, and beans to start anywhere! Their tequila selection is killer and margaritas are the bomb. Jess and Molly are the true hero’s here. Keep up the great work! Oh and the burritos are unreal as well.

So impressed! The hostess, waitress, food, service, location, cleanliness… all terrific. This was my first time eating at Cascada, and I cannot believe how long it’s taken me to eat here. If I had known it would be this great, I would have come here a long time ago! I ordered the«Tacos al Carbon» after seeing a picture of it on Unilocal, and it was delicious. If you’re in the mood for Mexican food, this is the place! Carson C. El Dorado Hills, CA

I love the pork loin medalions they come in a great sauce. I also love the black and blue salad on a warm day for lunch sitting near the window so I can watch the people milling upnand down main st. Great food, great location!

Good food and good service. A very tasty and comfortable place to go eat. Some of my favorite dishes are the Tortilla Soup and the Stuffed Salmon.

This is a great place to eat! The restaurant is very nice and a great place for a family dinner. I go once a year for my Grandma’s Birthday. Grandma loves their warm bean dip, salsa and chips. I love their margaritas and vegetarian burrito!

Called in a reservation as we came into town and we were able to be seated immediately. $ 5 sangria was delicious. Nice staff. Quick food. Generously gave second plate so young twins could split child’s plate. Quite a few tables with kids for early dinner on Friday night. Quick walk to parking garage. Will definitely return again. Loved the two salsas and dip served with the chips. The ice cream sundae was big, we split three for five people, three kids and two adults.

A fine example of tex-mex cuisine. Next time, I know where I’m stopping by on the way from Tahoe! Looks a bit fancy, but prices are reasonable and their table salsa is one of the best I’ve ever tried.

The warm chips and salsa tray was yummy! The blackened Caesar salad sucked! Chicken tasted like fake chicken and the Caesar dressing was flavorless! Other than that the place was nice! Good wine and ambiance!

The chile verde here is absolutely delicious. I’ve made this dish many times myself, and the chile at this place has no rival in San Francisco, where I live. My partner had chorizo and steak tacos — he ate every bit on his plate. They start you off with two different salsas with a small ramiken of creamed beans… very good. The décor is a bit odd to me, and it reminds me of a restaurant in Tijuana, Mexico I went to a long time ago, it wasn’t very appealing. The food more than makes up for the décor. I wish I could have stayed to try a few other dishes; but, we were just passing through.

Is anyone home? Just walked in to a fairly empty restaurant. After a few minutes was seated in a far far corner and forgotten. When I asked about happy hour was told they didn’t have one. Odd since I have had happy hour there before. No water, no interest. = a twosome cover walking out the door.

As a local of Placerville for 23 years, I am all about supporting our local businesses, but the customer service I received the last two times was unforgivable. The first time I let it go because I do love their food, but we will not be back after this last incident. When we actually spoke up about the terrible service, we were told«go somewhere else then, we don’t need your business!» Um actually you do, because I am a local and an unhappy customer tells others.

What a great little spot. We had fun here. We had to come to Placerville at the last minute to run an errand. The atmosphere is semi-upscale, I think it’s supposed to be very high end, but it just barely misses the mark. It is a very nice place though. I love the bar and the brick interior, It reminds me of downtown Bozeman Montana. It feels friendly. The chips and salsa were good and I liked that they brought two types of salsa and some very good bean dip with the chips but neither of the salsas were very spicy. Great flavor, I just like mine with more zip. I ordered a raspberry mojito and that was delicious, fresh mint, refreshing and a tiny bit sour(in a good way) especially after a long day. I ordered the tacos al carbon and while they were very flavorful, they weren’t quite what I expected, as this is a dish I love and order often. They had kind of a red sauce on them. but not drenching in sauce, more of a marinade The sauce was very good but not quite what I’m used to. That’s not necessarily a bad thing at all. I like my regular thing but I’m good with changes too. The cilantro rice was a unique twist as well and the black beans were served with a cheese on top. The entire entrée had onions galore. my mouth was feeling that zing. An after dinner mint would have been very welcome. Pricing is a teeny bit on the higher side, but of course my neighborhood Mexican hot spot is in a casino, so It’s not a fair comparison. We spent $ 50 before tip for two entrees and two cocktails. I would definitely go back. We loved the excellent service(if you’re from out of State, Please ask for water if you want it, this is California there is a drought and they can’t just bring it if you don’t ask), the food and the location in cute little old town Placerville.

Delicious, fresh Mexican food in the quaint city center of Placerville! Chicken tacos were fantastic and burritos stuffed full of meat rather than rice! Perfect for the protein lovers out there. Great service, yummy margaritas. Highly recommend!

Nice old building in the historic downtown, better than average food, nice clean semi upscale interior — a solid 4 stars! This was a perfect stop off on a last minute trip from Reno to the area!

This place is trying to be upscale Mexican I think. The interior is nice, service was good. We came around 5pm on a Friday and were seated promptly, but within minutes they started getting packed. They had a $ 5 sangria special, so we each had one and it was delicious, albeit not very strong. My husband ordered chicken tacos, I ordered chicken Enchiladas. The dinner plates mostly come with black beans and cilantro rice. There are many options on the menu, ranging from vegetarian dishes(which is rare in a Mexican joint), to «mexican pasta,» sandwiches and burgers. They brought out chips and three types of dip. The chips were fresh and the dip was good. Our meals arrived within minutes of being ordered, almost TOO quickly, but that’s much better than too slowly. Our meals were substantial and had good flavor. Our meal set us back $ 43 after tip, which isn’t outrageous but is pretty steep for tacos and enchiladas. Most entrees are in the $ 15 range — ours were two of the cheaper options. I’ll probably go back when I have company where everyone has different tastes or for a special occasion

Went for a late lunch on a Saturday and it wasn’t crowded and we were served super fast! They don’t appear to have a lunch menu, just the same menu for lunch and dinner. This made it a bit pricey for lunch since I was buying for three young adults. However, the food was absolutely delicious! We all loved it and will definitely go back. I had the blackened chicken Ceasar salad(but it wasn’t blackened(?) and the seasoning on it was so flavorful. I loved that it had other veggies in it instead of just romaine lettuce. My son had the seafood enchiladas and the other had chile verde enchiladas. They both loved them. I liked that they have cilantro rice instead of Spanish rice. Additionally, the ambiance was nice and the bar was welcoming! If you park at the far end of the parking garage you will find the restaurant right there across the street on Main Street. Easy access!

If you are like me, raised here and very much a product of California, you have eaten a lot of Mexican food. So let me say up front that Cascada is one of the very best Mexican food restaurants I have ever eaten at. We went on one of the busiest nights imaginable, Valentine’s Day, without reservations, but they were able to accommodate us, a miracle! The ambiance was fine for such a busy night, and service very good. Chips and salsa were served, but not just a salsa fresca, but warm and well blended bean dip and a spicy salsa, all three of which were excellent. We also ordered guacamole and it too was great, with size able chunks of onion and tomato, everything in good balance. My wife’s pomegranate martini was very well balanced with just the right amount of sweetness, and my Jodar Cabernet was ample and tasty. We stuck with basics for the entrees, chili rellenos and tamales, served with cilantro rice and black beans. While the rice could have been hotter, it was nicely prepared and light. The beans were al dente and not swimming in soup or paste as is so prevalent. The rellenos were very tasty, moderately spicy and roasted, much superior to the usual bland efforts at other restaurants. The masa of the tamales was light and flavorful, a welcome change from frozen, reheated, dense and over moist routine efforts elsewhere. While we were much too full for dessert, we saw an amazing chocolate cake pass by our table. This was a joyful dinner experience, and we look forward to returning to further explore the menu. Cascada serves Mexican food far far above the average. Placerville is lucky! And half this meal whispers from the fridge as I type this!
