My husband comes here whenever his eye gives him trouble and they fit him in quickly! I took my grown daughter here a few months ago and they spent a good hour with her. You don’t feel rushed when your there, like everyone really cares about you. Most recently my brother came to get surgery on his bad eye and now he can see so perfectly, his life has improved dramatically! The people there are very nice and Dr. Bishop did a great job on my brother!

I have read the other reviews and am quite taken back by many of the comments. I could counter every negative response with a logical explanation. To the person who complained about $ 40. for a scrip… hmmm there are others who charge the recommended Medicare amount which is double. To the person who complained about the phone manners… I can say I find everyone very accommodating. The staff in both the office and across the hall, in the surgery center, are professional, kind, efficient and as I said, accommodating as they can be. I go in knowing I am not the only patient and feel as though I am provided exceptional care, by Dr. Bishop and every member of the team.

Be careful regarding insurance issues. We have an HMO plan and they verified (via phone) it would be covered by insurance and then after the appointment and work was completed, they called to let us know that it was actually not covered (lessoned learned to call insurance company yourself). There’s nothing that can be done other than paying the bill. This was not a huge bill and the right thing to do would have been for them to take care of their mistake.
Due to this issue, we won’t be coming back.

When I couldn’t see well enough to drive safely, I knew I had to have cataract surgery. One of the doctors at Cedar Eye did it, and it was easy and painless. Now I see ²⁰⁄₂₀. I highly recommend them.

Examinations seemed thorough. Advice was good and balanced, though my doctor, Leilani Norton tended, to dodge questions about future expectations with respect to an eye disorder.

This place is Terrible! Had to wait in the lobby 35 mins before I was called only to be sat in another lobby for 30 more mins. Finally got to see the doctor that didn’t impress me at all. Whole visit was a waste of my time. Receptionist said they had to bill a certain way and the doctor said another. Enough said… I wont be back!

I was referred to Ronald Evans, MD by my family physician for my annual eye exam. I paid my $ 50 co-​pay and was called in. 95% of the work, including eye exam, pupil dilation, eye pressure check, and all the computerized questions were done by a staff introducing herself as the doctor’s assistant. After she dropped some medicine all over my face to get it in my eyes (for dilating my pupils), as she was walking out, she warned me that the doctor is coming in and if I need a new prescription as my eyesight has changed, it would an additional $ 40 charge for the doctor to write a prescription. The good doctor came in and went over the computer screen and ‘confirmed everything’ and I was on my way. It was so appalling and so strange to pay $ 140.00 by my insurance, and pay $ 50 specialist co-​pay, and all the work being done by a non-​specialist staff, and now he wants additional $ 40 to write me a prescription. Wow! It is like going to a restaurant and get charged extra for looking at the menu. I refused to pay the $ 40 and left. You will not find me back at this Mickey Mouse office again.

Had both lenses replaced with implants. Was not thrilled with the outcome. Both eyes now have hazy vision with big blobs of hazy floaters. Brights lights create star bursts and halos. Both eyes! At least one of the surgeons has lousy bedside manors. Doesn’t like to listen or explain.

My mother had so much trouble with them. They did surgery on one of her eyes and we think they messed it up. Not good. Be careful!

Both my grandfather and I have been patients here for several years and although my grandfather has since passed away I know that he too would agree, Cedar Eye Center is the best!
From the front desk gals, the rooming ladies and even the eyes docs, they are all very considerate, reliable, both down home and professional, courteous and respectful. We highly recommend Cedar Eye Center to anyone who lives in El Dorado County.
