My husband and I always have a great time at PJ’s. The new owners, Barb and Jim made us feel as welcomed as old friends! There is live music, good eats and plenty of room with the large dance floor, table seating and a big outdoor patio. Shuffleboard, pool tables, darts and dice available for fun with friends. Klare is my favorite bartender!!! We live in Sacramento but still make time to visit PJ’s.

The bar itself is quite chill, the drink selection was quite diverse. I ahd a good time there, but the bartender prioritizes her friends, but I don’t mind, i am rarely around Placerville to begin with. If I return to this place it will be because my friends said… which was the reason why I went anyway.

I imagine this place is probably a lot of fun when there’s a band– pretty big dance floor. Anyway, I’m here on a Sunday watching football. I like the place. Clean, friendly and wow some really nice Harley’s outside. Great drink specials! Lots of room. Bartender is a nice guy. I must say! Ladies– I wasn’t expecting this, but the restrooms are re-modeled and very nice.

Always a good time. Classic bar, classic people. Good fun entertainment. Usually no bull crap going on. Cops hangout spot though. Not very clean but I’m going there to drink… Not sleep.

Nice place to hang out and chill. Have a beer watch a game during week and play some pool. Now has bar food too. On weekends the bands get hopping and the place gets going late night.

My band had a show here a week ago, for the 2nd time, and the staff is always super friendly and just all in all good people. The bartenders are very responsive and quick, even when there are a lot of people crowding the small bar top. Drinks are reasonably priced, if not a little cheaper than other places. The patio is awesome to enjoy your drink and a smoke(or 5). They have pool tables, live music, and food that looks great, though I have not tried it. If you are looking for some place that’s good for a night out with friends without all the hassle of crowds, overly priced drinks, or, go to PJ’s Roadhouse for a good time.

It’s a local dive bar. I stop in on my way home from Poor Red’s. Nice bartender, good service, and inexpensive.

Great place to get pre cooled frozen foodand support the lifestyle of a want to be elitest like Rod Ironside. Honestly if it weren’t for the owner this place could be real nice. But because the shisty way this sexist prick runs his bussines your paying for terrible service and super low standards. Do not go. Many other alternatives. Unless of course toquittos and herroine are your cup of tea.

Very pleasant. I was on my way from Georgetown and decided I wanted to take the long way so I could take a trip down memory lane. Starving to death I remember my friends bragging about a place called Poor Reds that is on the way home. I of course did some more research of my own and turned to Unilocal to see what others had to say about the place. Sure glad I did. Comparing friends opinions and Unilocal reviews I decided I was on the search for somewhere else. I found PJ’s and was very happy about it. The set up is beautiful. When you first walk in the door and go down about 7 feet you enter a little area that holds a pool table, right past that you enter the main part of the bar. The bar is spacious, clean, and I believe was remodled recently. Once you walk through the main bar there is another room about the same size where you will find a stage and a whole set up where their live bands play they have every weekend. There was a patio, but I didn’t venture to it. The bathrooms are clean and small. It is just your local neighborhood bar in a small town. Everyone knew everyone and they were all nice people. The food was delicious. I of course got the most popular burger which consist of bacon, onion ring, bbq sauce, cheese, and all the other regular toppings. Was only $ 8 and worth it. If you ride a Harley or travel up the hill often I suggest you give this place a go, I know you wont be diappointed. My only complaint is there Happy Hour list. It all consist of domestic beers and I am a snob beer drinker.

We stopped here after lunch at Poor Reds, kinda wished we had held off for PJ’s, but that just gives me an excuse to go back. We were parched after a couple hundred miles on the bike and dropped in to wet the whistle. It was early afternoon on a Friday so not many on hand but the regulars so we played free pool and had a couple of pops. The bartender was friendly, on the ball, and attentive. We want to drop back in when it is a bit more crowded. The regular crowd that was on had was just as friendly.

needing to wet the whistle on the road trip home, we popped into pj’s for a cool off during the hot day. great local pub, 3 pool tables, shuffle board, outside patio, 2 rooms indoor, full bar. just a little over $ 9 bought us a pint and a jameson — that’s a steal if you ask me! they had a luau party that night, which would have been a fun thing to hang with the locals. the thought sounded nice but we were only in for one quick round since we had a long drive home ahead of us.

We ate here. Eh… The food was okay I guess. Not super great or anything though. It was lacking something… not sure what though.

Smells like piss in there. I have been getting drunk here since the early 90s. Nothing ever changes except the owners. The only reason to come here is when Poor Reds closes and you aren’t done drinking yet. The cocktails are poured strong and are cheap. You never know whats going to happen here. Everyone is drunk and the age differences are vast. I have been 86’d here, caused fights here, bumped my head on in the parking lot trying to be a ballerina, and I keep coming back for more. Not as often as I have gotten older, but I LOVE this place.

My view of this place is somewhat skewed. I’ve only been there on Thursday nights, when I was part of the house band for their Jam Night. Since it was seldom busy(thus encouraging bozos get up and play for free), I couldn’t really get a feel for the place. The staff seemed friendly, and the drinks were reasonable. The only thing that was a put-off for me personally was a couple of times there was some pot-smoking going on out on the patio. I like my taverns a little tonier than that.

There are biker bars, and then there’s Pj’s. Located in gold country, Pj’s has established itself as being one of the most biker friendly bars in all of Northern California. A great selection of beer, and harder drinks at a reasonable price, large patio, pool tables, ample tables, and live bands. The food depends on what day you get there. Most of the time, the fare will be typical bar-food. But on Wed or weekends, you’ll be treated to «grill your own steak» or BBQ specials. Well worth the trip for. But be forewarned– Placerville’s local law enforement do not like ANYONE on two wheels, and are known for pulling over anyone leaving PJ’s on a motorcycle. So definitly watch your alcohol intake.
