Perfect for what we were looking for… Casual atmosphere, friendly service from Jessica. Reasonably priced good food. Will definitely be back.

Party of 6 at 1:30pm on a Sat… Not busy but still slow service, maybe it was the waitress. We noticed 8 people(family of 4 and 2 couples) come and go while we were waiting for our food(about 40 mins for 18 wings, chicken finger basket, Rueben, and Conch Fritters which are all quick items). Fries were soggy so I asked for more and they brought more soggy fries less than 2 mins later(were the fries just sitting under a heat lamp or something?) F for effort there. The Rueben was a little dry, wings were ok, ordered hot but they weren’t hot, fritters were good. Overall we were very disappointed considering how much the bill was. Only thing I liked was that we docked the boat in front and the waitress didn’t ask us to leave even though we were there for about 2 hours

Nice casual place to drive to or boat to. Sat outside on the deck for drinks and apps. Saw 3 manatees on the way in, hung out and watched the for a while! The place was super busy, so service was slow, but still friendly!

Carley’s was there last night Food was good, having fun, family in town, yea Then 9:15 rolls around Carley can’t serve us anymore because Gina(the manager?) Says their closing I said to her, wait, the website and Unilocal says your open till 10PM on Thursday night Gina says, well the website and Unilocal are wrong Really? I’ve got a $ 200 check going for a table of 5, a server willing and able and the manager says no we are closing early? Not a good business plan If something else comes along close, this place will shut down The help is already talking if leaving Matter of time To bad, great location If Carley’s not there don’t bother going

We were going to stop in for fish and chips. It was late afternoon. We parked near the street, about 125′ from the front door. As we got out of the car we immediately noticed lots of bass and drums from the live music entertainment. If you want to eat without communicating I guess this is an OK place. I don’t. I might try on a non-music night.

We had been the year before but were disappointed with this visit. First of all it is a bar scene so it is loud. We are older so don’t like the loud noise. We went for lunch after golf. I got a spinach salad with shrimp that was fine. Hubby got a Cuban sandwich and onion rings. The onion rings were nothing great and the sandwich was dried out. Our server was nice. It is more for the younger crowd. If you want onion rings go to Leverock’s.

I absolutely love this place. We come here about once a week, usually for lunch. Have come for breakfast and dinner also and always a great dining experience. Service is not always the best, but believe it or not the food definitely makes up for it. They have a full bar and waterfront dining. Some of the best fried oysters I’ve ever had. Awesome hamburgers that are cooked to order. Very fresh ingredients. Their salads are out of this world, huge portions with a lot of variety and options. One of my favorites is the Greek salad. Their homemade chips are also very good and come without an upcharge.

Haven’t had the best luck at this place but gave it another chance today. Unfortunately it was a really bad experience. Not a single dish came out as ordered, and these weren’t crazy special orders… it was things hold the jalapeño. We like to support local businesses but we are DONE with this one.

I’ve been standing here at Waterside Grille for about 15 minutes now with the hostess standing next to me. I have yet to be acknowledged, nor was the party behind me who just walked out. I finally added my own name to the list as well as the people behind me who left and miracle of miracles I now finally just got seated at a table that has been free all along… More than 20 minutes later. It was addressed with the manager who was slightly apologetic although less so than one would have thought. The waitress, Mary, was great and very apologetic — far more than the manager was — and helped turn what started as a very sour experience into a decent one. We are local and have seen this restaurant kind of go up and down. Right now for me it’s more down — being that it’s a little pricier than other places serving the same style food. I think we will be giving it a skip for a little while to see if it improves upon our return. In general the food is good, slightly overpriced and the hostessing leaves something to be desired. We always seem to have problems with either the hostess not telling the waitress she sat someone at her table or like today just not being acknowledged. My recommendation would be to try one of the other Englewood area restaurants for now.

Best service(ask for Veronica) and food I’ve had at the Waterside Grill in a long time. Changes are noticed. Thank you!

I’m thinking we came on an off-day or something. We came for breakfast before the Seafood Festival and the restaurant had a few tables full, not busy by any means. It took an hour to get our food. It shouldn’t have taken that long to make scrambled eggs and pancakes. The servers were super attentive, friendly, and kept us full to the brim with coffee and soda refills until our food finally came. It would have been nice to know what was going on, though, since we had plans on getting on the water right after what we thought was going to be a quick breakfast. My guess would be that someone either quit or didn’t show up in the kitchen, so I would be willing to give this place another shot some day.

Stopped in for a late dinner on a Saturday night, asked what the fresh catch special was and was told the grouper and mahi, and they were the same. Two of us ordered grouper sandwiches, one mahi. Service was awful, and the food was worse. One of our grouper sandwiches was a skinny fillet that didn’t cover half the bun. To make matters worse, upon receiving our bill we see that our 2 sloppy grouper sandwiches were $ 18.50 apiece. They didn’t take our drink order, gave us the wrong salad, and then shorted us $ 10 on our bill. Staying in the area for a month and can say it is the only poor dining experience we’ve had, won’t be back, stay away.

Food is good here, but I would actually stay away from the seafood for the most part. I had fish tacos here awhile back and the fish tasted frozen /old. Today I got the Greek salad and it was really good. I also tasted the fried cod, which was pretty yummy. The homemade chips are good but the onion straws are even better. I wouldn’t recommend any of the other fried(frozen) seafood items on the menu. There is a screened in area that’s indoor/outdoor and has a comfortable breeze. Staff has always been friends.

This place is great. All the food is delicious. It’s easy and has outside seating. Has live music on certain nights. The grouper sandy is always great. The peel and eat shrimp. Can’t go wrong coming here to get a good, quick, easy meal on the water.

We went there twice during our recent stay at Little Gasparilla Island. We had the Redfish fingers, Clam strips and Peel n eat shrimp. Clamstrips were good but small and nothing exciting. The peel n eat were large and tasty. Best of all were the Redfish fingers. They were awesome and worth going back for! Get the homemade chips. They come with a homemade dipping sauce that was good. The fries weren’t great.

Who doesn’t love having lunch next to the water? Of course, you’re next to a marina versus the actual ocean, but you can’t hold it against this laidback eatery. Food is what I call«waterside bar food», the standard sandwiches but everything you want by the water thrown in. I was in a group of five for Sunday lunch and we all split two dozen raw oysters and peel and eat shrimp. I had the Red Fish sandwich, Cajun style with fries. Cajun was not spicy, reminded me more of how I usually order a fish sandwich, which is «lightly blackened». If you’re looking for a kick, try having it cooked Jerk style. The boyfriend highly recommended it. The only disappointments is my mojitos were too sugary and tasted like they had a bit too much club soda in it and our server didn’t make the rounds as often as we would have liked(there was a total of 4 tables filled on the patio at that time). If I make it back to Little Gasparilla, I’d swing back in for a bite. Hopefully early enough for breakfast next time!

This place is a bar. It has live bands on different days of the week and it serves food, but first and foremost, it is a bar. This really doesn’t surprise me and it shouldn’t surprise anyone else. It is located at a marina and it is located in an area of retirement. And in case you didn’t know, boaters, retirees, and retirees that boat are all HEAVY drinkers. At least they seam like heavy drinkers to me since I don’t drink at all. On the menu: 1st Visit Crab chowder Chicken wings hot Blackened grouper sandwich with fries 2nd Visit Pulled pork sandwich with fries Potato chips Hot Wings Out of all of the items I get here, I always get the chicken wings. They are always passable and I don’t leave wondering«Why did I eat here again?» I do need to get the hottest every time to get a modicum of flavor. If I need more than just wings, then I will get the blackened grouper sandwich and just not eat the bread.
