Giovanna’s Restaurant

Comfortable, attractive and quiet dining room. Service was excellent. Food prepared to your liking. The prices are very reasonable and portions more than ample. My husband and I had a terrific time. We are new to this area and when we arrive in a new place we quickly search for a good Italian restaurant. We found it in Giovanna’s Restaurant and will be frequent visitors.

The Early-​bird menu can’t be beat!
Monday-​Friday from 4:30 to 6pm, they offer a priced fix meal for $ 21 that includes appetizer, soup or salad, entrée, dessert, and coffee.
I had the flounder francaise, which was the best flounder I’ve eaten in my life. I was considering ordering a second dish!
Be aware they have valet parking, but if you want to avoid that, park across the street in the Wendy’s parking lot.
The décor leaves something to be desired, and is a little dated. I don’t come here for the décor, I come for the excellent food at a good price.
The staff has always been outstanding — friendly, helpful, and competent.
The food has always come quickly — no long waits here.
It might not be my top choice outside of the early bird, but if I’m having an early dinner it can’t be beat.

I was here for a company party very recently. There’s not much I can say about it here. I only gave this review 2 stars because, although she wasn’t on her game, our server was very sweet, and the penne vodka was fantastic. Everything that was fried was over greasy, even the fries. The salad, which wasnt anything to cheer about at all, had way too much dressing, and there was somehow dressing underneath my plate and of course i got it all over myself. My date got sick, he seems to think it was from under cooked pork served to him here. The only good thing was the steamed veggies, and by that point I was surprised they weren’t over or under done.
Needless to say I won’t be going there again, whether it’s for a company party or a one on one dinner date. I think I’d be more satisfied with McDonald’s GMO food.

GREAT FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE! Last I checked people go to restaurants for the food not to evaluate the quality of the carpets. But hey if that’s your thing Chris C more power to ya. Giovanna’s restaurant has been in business for many many years and clearly they are doing something right. Who cares if it looks like a restaurant you’d see in Goodfellas. It seems to me all the restaurants that are surrounding Giovannas are going out of business or trying to revamp the names, looks, etc and are barely staying in business. Clearly Giovanna’s is doing something right. Angelo the manager is so friendly and accommodating!

Love this restaurant. Especially the early birds specials during the week. Food is excellent as is the service.

If you want to have an enjoyable and relaxing dinner with excellent service, try the early bird specials. the menu has plenty to offer, although, I always order the same appetizer, salad, entrée and dessert every time I dine there. The food is excellent, and the portions are decent, I always bring half of my entrée home. The waiters/​waitresses are always attentive and friendly. I always give a 20%+ tip, deservingly.
I wonder if Chris C. mentioned any of his complaints to the manager.

My husband and I ditched the kids and decided to try this spot we pass so frequently. Boy were we pleased… Nice friendly atmosphere and GREAT food! Prices are reasonable and portion size was more than adequate. My only con is that service could have been a bit faster.

Great penne a la vodka — best I have ever had. Newly decorated. Great early bird menu with good choices and great prices. Lunch menu is also great with good prices.

Very average Italian food for more money than it was worth. Friendly host outside, but that was the highlight. They made an off-​menu risotto for me that was serviceable, but my girlfriend’s gnocchi had way too much cheese. I expected more for Little Italy and the price.

We have been going to Giovanna’s for years. While it may not be up to five stars for the epicure, (I know as I too frequent first class), the food is consistently good. and the service is attentive, friendly and proficient. The place just feels … comfortable. It’s where we can go tired, after work for a quiet conversation, a decent meal and a glass of wine. Or where we take our family or friends when we want to enjoy the conversation and know that the food won’t disappoint. Starting with the valet parking, I feel taken care of there. Regarding the reviewer who cited the 80s Miami VIce décor, I must say I would have agreed with that statement (only), but the place is now attractively redecorated and has very nice ambiance.

The menu is pretty average Italian with a few twists here and there and staying with a safe dish I usually go for the Penne Alla Vodka which is quite good.
On the upside, for what has been early in the week evenings, they do not seem busy at all and if you need a quiet place for a group meeting over dinner (which is my main purpose for going here) it is not a bad place to try.

The rib chop is excellent. Service is excellent. This is a very nice place. Salads are also very good. I do not agree with the last post.

The floor was carpeted with 10 year old office carpeting that looked worn. The plates were all different and chipped. The veggies were a boiled afterthought cooked a day earlier. Their filet mignon was overcooked and gray.
The ambiance was cheap italian, cheap frescos drawn on the walls, cheap 80’s Miami Vice mirrors all over, did I mention industrial office grade carpeting?
The food was not good. I don’t know how they stay in business.
