We always get our Race Day box lunches here and we’ve always been super pleased until this year. The quality of the food seems to have gone waaaay down. I had the dark meat chicken lunch and it only contained a leg! What? My husband had a nice sized chicken breast but it upset his stomach. The ham lunchmeat sandwich was unremarkable. The chips and cookie held me over until the race was over. We will figure out another place to get our box lunches next year as these lunches left us with a sad face.

What is there to say about this store? It’s dated, not clean, and the smell of raw fish nearly knocks you down when you walk in the door. If there’s anything to take from this store, the people are friendly, which gives them the second star. There are also items mysteriously missing here that other Marsh stores stock. The bakery stuff is pretty good, but I’m not sure it’s worth the trip because Meijer’s baked goods might be just a little better. Mooresville’s Marsh was a vast improvement over this store. It’s a little disappointing it had to die because the Plainfield store is a poor representation of what Marsh is as a company. Kroger wasn’t better than the former Marsh in Mooresville, but it’s way better than the Plainfield Marsh. You won’t hear a self-proclaimed Marsh fan like me say this often, so listen up: do yourself a favor and go to Kroger instead. If you want to do yourself even more of a favor, go to Meijer.

Usually I’m not a fan of Marsh, most of the time they’re too expensive and the cashiers act like you are interfereing with their day by going through their line. Today was a good experience, the cashier was nice and I was in and out fast. One positive I would like to point out the store always seems clean.
