Pro Nails

I was looking for a good nail salon in Joliet and had heard great things about Pro Nails. The place was clean and staff was nice.
I had a basic pedicure done. The gentleman did a good job. No complaints. Then I had a no chip mani done. I was disappointed at first because they sat my friend and I away from each other. No big deal. Then he continued to do my nails. I don’t often get mani pedis at all. But I do remember a mani has several steps: cuticle cleaning, lotion, short massage, etc. The gentleman didn’t do ANY of these things. I thought that was weird but I wasn’t about to waste my friends time by making the guy go back and do it. He did the normal base, 3coat, and top coat. Nothing out of the ordinary there.
I had them done Saturday. After 1 day, my thumbnails were starting to peel already. After 3 days, half my nail polish popped off whole. By Thursday my no chip mani had all come off. My $ 33 mani that was supposed to last 2 weeks rubbed off in less than half that time. How freaking frustrating!
I should have gone back and complained but after working in the food industry as long as I have, I know you can’t complain about something if u have nothing left to show. I had no mani left to complain about. I won’t be going back.

I love this place!!! They are professional and courteous. Tim is an expert and takes great pride in his work! No other shop compares to pro nails.

As always Tim does a great job! He’s really good about getting you taken care of with literally very little to no wait. Bring any design to him and he gets it done every time. The staff is pleasant and always greets you with a smile. Very glad I found this place!

I went there the other night to get a pedicure and manicure. Friendly staff and great job on my nails. The problem was the filth I saw almost everywhere I looked, At one of the stations next to me I saw the man open the drawer on his side and it had gunk and filth inside, a weird yellow color and the station next to me had nail clippings sitting on it. The tub for my pedicure has clearly not been cleaned right, when I looked down I saw hairs floating and other particles. I would have loved to give 5 stars because my nails looked great but this place really needs to make sure they clean each station the correct way between clients and upkeep on general cleaning.

Being fairly new in the area, ive been on the search for a good nail salon. I tried two different places before Pro Nails with no luck.
After seeing this place on Unilocal,I decided to give it a shot…
Let me start by saying that I have always taken care of my feet, especially since my husband loves my feet (size 6), and people have always complimented me on my feet, especially when I wear open-​toed heels during the warm months. So much so that in my people have told me in the past that I should be a foot model.
So…I went to this place and the owner (female) did my pedicure and manicure.
Upon arrival, she directed me to the back of the salon to do my pedicure first. It was nice, the lights were dim and it was relaxing.
All the while, I was on my phone and reading a magazine… when she was cutting my cuticles, I felt a lil pain but having a high threshold of pain, I thought nothing of it and thought tht maybe she was a lil tougher than others. She finished, she got up and walked to the front of the salon. I waited for a while and started to get a bit impatient as my neighbors were waiting for me to go to their pool. After 15 min, she came back and walked me to the front to get my nails done…
Since it was brighter there, I looked doen snd noticed that my nail polish looked a bit bubbled on both big toes. I kept looking a bit confused and thought tht maybe the polish I picked wss gooey. I told her tht she needed to repolish my big toes bc they looked messed up and she told me in her Vietnamese accent «no…you toes nails are away from your skin.» I said what? I don’t understand, the polish is messed up and you need to redo.” She insisted tht it wasn’t the polish and insinuated tht my nail bed was messed up. Wanting to just get out and get home and redo the polish myself when I got home, I didnt press on.
Well…ladies and gentlemen, she jacked my big toe nails up! Loving my feet, I was in shock and in disbelief and pissed off bc its Summer!
Somehow, she detached BOTH of my toe nails!!! I dont have any fungus, I checked, its clean, but I dont really know what she did, but the corners of both toes were completely above and detached my my skin. I can lift both toe nails away sideways. I don’t know when they’ll fall off or how they’ll grow back (straight/​normal) or what.
I am beyond disappointed and still cannot believe what she did to my feet.
BE FOREWARNED!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! Look at my pictures. If this had a thumbs down, I would do tht instead a 1 star which I had to click on.

I love this salon… and TJ and his staff are excellent! I found this salon over 2 years ago and have had fingers, toes and eyebrows waxed many times! They always have the newest colors too! Unlike other salons, they explain the benefits of each technique and help you determine the best/​healthiest ways to have beautiful nails. We have moved away and I miss the AMAZING work and people at ProNails!

Love this place. Pedicure area is quite and a bit dark… Such a relaxing environment. The prices are right and the technicians have great attention to detail. Will be returning soon.

I would rate it in two different ways.
4 star for the service. They got me in quickly, were very kind and probably the best pedicure/​massage I’ve ever had! And the eyebrow waxing was amazing. She made my eyebrows look great!
I give two stars for the place itself. It’s very dirty, dark and needs to be updated. There was dust on everything and I felt like I needed to bathe afterwards. Very sad. I wish I could recommend this place but due to it’s lack of cleanliness I can’t. Hopefully they see this and decide to clean up and freshen their look!

I stopped by over the weekend and was very happy with my experience. Chanel did my pedicure and no-​chip manicure. She is a super sweet girl and very easy to talk to. TJ is great too, I talked to him a little bit and told him it was my birthday, which he made me show him my drivers license and I’m glad I did because he gave me 30% off my services. (if you go there on the day of your birthday you get a discount… but it has to be the day of!) Anyways, it was such a positive experience and atmosphere, I plan on going back. :) Oh plus, I was told, since I got a no chip that if the paint chips within 2 weeks, they would fix it for free :) This is my first no chip and it’s only day 2 but my nails still look great, even with all the cleaning I do.

Awesome salon. The employees are so friendly and helpful when picking out designs/​colors. They always have special deals going on around major holidays. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes for a chair.

Editing– Ownership must have changed. I called to make sure my favorite girl was there yesterday (Mya, she’s 20-​something). I arrived and told them I was there for Mya and that I called earlier. I was directed to an older woman, definitely not Mya and told to pick a color. I did a quick «bathroom trip» to make sure Mya wasn’t doing a Pedi and she wasn’t, they just lied to get me in the door– I’ll never be back.
I love this salon. Everyone who works there gives a great manicure/​pedicure and they will fix chips in «No Chips» for 2 weeks. I’ve been having some problems with my fingers and they fixed 2 chips in the last 2 days. Usually my No chip manicure lasts, and looks great, except for out growth, for a month. When taking atmosphere and quality of the work into account they are top notch. Ill never willingly get my nails done anywhere else. I found the quality of work here to be much better than Becca’s down the street.

This is the best place in town to get a manicure/​pedicure! The service is amazing and TJ and his team are the nicest. They do a phenomenal job all the way around! Don’t miss stopping in for some services when you are in the area!

Love this place!!! I went in for Kenny and he wasn’t in so I had Mina. She was great!!! TJ is awesome also! It’s nice to know that there is backup if the person you want isn’t there… They all do great work. Funny thing is is that I just happened to stumble upon this place by accident. Guess it was meant to be!!!

Very friendly people, warm décor and many nail colors to choose from. Will be going back.
