The food is real good. Service eh!!! I will go back again. Because, the food is so good. They’re famous for their pastrami. But, the French dip is amazing.

Hi: Boomy’s is no longer KOSHER, but is still a good New York style deli. Please do remove the word KOSHER from their name. Thanks.

The owner is sweet and friendly… They have the best matzah ball soup and mushroom barley soup. The customers are loyal for years. It used to be Kosher but not anymore.

Meh, that’s about all I can say about this Kosher Style Deli. I used to come here a few times a year when I started working in the area about 9 years ago. It was awhile since I came and I felt like a corned beef sandwich and some matzo ball soup. Not nearly as good as I remembered and I probably won’t be back. I should have read the reviews before I came back. Sandwich had all of the meat pilled in the center, but nothing on the edges, nothing special about the flavor either. Oh, and for all of the Kosher Unilocalers out there, this is a Kosher Style Deli, not a Kosher Deli. Just an FYI. It seems kind of dirty inside as well. Overall a poor experience and I won’t be back.

The worst. We used to go when they were Kosher. Our first visit back in a few years will be our last. The tongue was below average. The corned beef, almost inedible. No longer Hebrew National, it was so pink and roundish, it looked more like ham and tasted more like bologna. Horrible. The only good thing was the knish, because they don’t make it there. The service was slow and the waiter tried to take our order before even giving us menus. We won’t be back.

Not the most updated place to eat, especially for the area but food is always GREAT and the service is excellent. Good prices and great menu selection. Will always return here for dinner or lunch.

Come on, this place isn’t Katz’s, its Boomy’s in Long Island. Reviews need to be taken with that grain of salt. That being said, this place is perfectly acceptable for what it is: A DELI. I’ve been here a bunch of times whilst visiting my Jewish grandmother and we’ve always had good experiences. FOOD– They start you off with chickpeas, pickles & cole slaw. Nice touch. I enjoy the pickles and they have a pleasant crunch. I prefer the corned beef over the pastrami personally. They give you a nice amount of corned beef in the sandwich and while it isn’t the quality of Katz’s, its satisfies your salt-cured beef craving very nicely. I always get the half sandwich & fries because the fries are exceptional. Among the best fries around if you ask me! Other items I’ve tried: Matzoh ball soup — the balls themselves were kind of ‘meh’ but the broth was surprisingly flavorful. Knishes– decent The service is always good. We really like the guy(can’t remember his name), but he does an efficient job & my Grandma seems to like him. We sat and talked at the table for maybe 30 minutes after finishing the food and they didn’t rush us out, which was nice of them. Not the kind of place you’d eat everyday, but when I’m in Long Island visiting my Grandma it is a nice choice.

An average Kosher deli, not the greatest. I have been here a few times and I have had some pleasant experiences and some not so pleasant. First of all, for a busy shopping mall, I would expect this place to have more sit-down business. Meanwhile, they must make 75% of their business from takeout orders. The décor is bland and outdated. Service is okay, nothing special. The menu is quite cheap and there are some appealing entrees that are quite delicious. Their matzoh ball soup is quite good. The matzoh ball was a bit dry, but the soup was seasoned well. Their lunch specials are under $ 10 and they come with a generous portion of entrée and sides. I got the turkey(hot) which was good, although it was bland. I had to cover it in chicken gravy for it to have taste. The mashed potatoes were very good though, and so was the abundance of stuffing. Their meatloaf is a bit dry, but it had great flavor. Their deli meats are quite good. Try their corned beef and pastrami. That is probably your best option here.

It pains me to have to post a bad review of this place… I used to love this place years ago but during a recent visit to New York I stopped by and the entire experience was absolutely terrible… Horrible service and horrible food, my first clue should have been the fact it was empty with no customers on what should be a busy Friday night

Food is good here… They only get 2 stars because the counter staff is not friendly. They do not greet you when you walk it. They are too busy having personal conversation to help the customers. Then when you do order they act like you are interrupting their personal chat time, and don’t pay full attention to your order. Thank you for getting it wrong twice… How do you make a pastrami on rye and forget the mustard??? Twice??? Who wants a dry sandwich? For the overpriced sandwiches, the experience should be way better and I certainly shouldn’t leave the shop with my pastrami on rye, DRY. Get your act together…

I come here all the time they have delicious sandwiches and great soups. All the cold cuts are homemade and preservative free. The soups are also homemade and full of flavor. Reasonably priced(especially since everything is FRESH and high quality) also they have some of the best French fries I’ve ever had. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a good HUGE sandwich for under $ 10. Blows Katz and Bens out of the water!

Arrived and wanted to order at counter. We were told it is only table service. There was 4 people in the whole place and they were already eating. Person who brought water and menus doesn’t speak English. Waited 10 minutes for waiter. He was busy on his phone. Placed order. Hotdogs arrived on buns that were damp and fell apart. I wanted a round baked knish. I was told it would be a while. They had at least a dozen in the food case. I had to settle for a square fried knish. Cook from kitchen was playing with his daughter in the dining room. Waiter was on his phone again while taking an order from an older gentleman. This place is a joke. Plenty of real authentic Kosher places around, Don’t waste your time here.

People were nice, turkey was good, but the roll was so stale that chunks started crumbling off. I would have preferred a reasonably priced sandwich and suggest they knock $ 3 off, lose the free soup and use less meat. $ 13.72 for turkey with lettuce on a stale roll with a can of soda made me feel very ripped off, I can get the same thing for half as much at three delis I know that are closer to work.

I’m not a huge deli fan. Maybe once or twice a year. Next time I get the urge I will not go to Boomy’s.

Excellent food. The Ruben’s are fantastic, and lean, they used to not serve it with cheese, but they have lost their kosher status. The Knishes are great. The chicken noodle soup is stuffed with noodles.

Don’t bother! Overpriced for mounds of greasy fat that they call pastrami. They screwed up my order and screwed up my bowels. Thumbs down!

Don’t understand why others rate this place so low, it was totally good for me! Got the Pastrami sandwich and my project team got brisket sandwiches. I’m from San Diego and there is nothing like this out there! Pretty great food! Try it out!

I used to go to Ruven’s but since it has closed Boomy’s has taken over the duties as my weekly pastrami sandwich spot. Other reviews are spot on in terms of sandwich size. There is so much meat in the middle… then so little on the back end. For $ 10 you cant even fill up a small slice of rye bread with meat? Come on guys. Even other kosher deli staples such as a knish, hot dogs and the matzah ball soup are just ‘Meh’ here. Don’t get me wrong, the food is still better than kosher-style food you can get in other non-kosher deli’s, but more and more I leave disappointed and with the feeling that my wallet just got violated. The interior hasn’t changed in 20 years and is in dire need of a makeover. You can tell the place has been around the block. Tip: Take the extra 10 min and go to Ben’s in Woodbury.
