Fried clams are excellent and so are the burgers! Can’t wait to try other things on the menu!

Fast causal atmosphere. I ordered a combo with the bacon bomb burger, side of coleslaw, and soda. I don’t remember if they charge for extra toppings. I had them put mustard, mayo, cooked onions, and lettuce on the burger. My total was around $ 8 – 9. Friendly service, very clean, and my burger was ready in less than 5 minutes. The side of slaw was enormous. I didn’t know there would be that much. People can be picky about the type of slaw they like. I liked this one and would order it again. It has mayo, but not swimming in it. Good crunch, little bit sweet, finishes with a hint of black pepper. Haha. Like reviewing a wine I guess. If you go with the right expectations you’ll be happy.

Fantastic food and service. I don’t think you can go wrong at this place. It is a fried food lovers dream from fried Oreos to Fried Pop Tarts. I love the Bacon Bomb Burger. It has pieces of bacon in the burger which gives it a crispy edge and juicy center. Not recommended for anyone watching their weight or cholesterol, but damn it’s delicious!

Awesome burgers! Good service. Ketchup on ice. The best coleslaw and the bomb burger will leave you in a coma!

Been to Steve’s a few times now, I like it. The bacon bomb burger is my favorite there. It’s a hand shaped patty, loaded with chunks of bacon. It’s juicy, flavourful and very filling. I get my usual toppings of sauerkraut, grilled onions, BBQ sauce, and a fried egg. I like the curly fries, and the mac &cheese is awesome. Home made, just lacks salt. The staff is always very polite and willing to engage in conversation. They are always willing to talk with my young kids as well. The kids get a treat from the candy bucket, they love that.

Great service and reasonably priced. Not much more you can ask for in a burger joint. If you find yourself in Plainville looking for a good cheeseburger this is the place for you! Enjoy!

Stopped here for a quick lunch today. Ordered a Pulled Pork sandwich, fries and a drink. Woman at the counter gave me the«combo» price, which ended up being over $ 10. A bit expensive for lunch, but I had a hankering for some BBQ. Now, it’s not really fair to compare the BBQ here in Connecticut to the Q down South(I recently moved back up here from the Tennessee/Alabama border), but the pulled pork served at Big Steve’s lacked any hint of smoke flavoring. Still, it was a satisfying lunch, I left full. I did like the fact that it was served on a hard roll — that’s one thing you could never find in the Deep South, a good hard roll. Hard roll was toasted also. I would come back in the future, most likely I go for a burger or a hot dog next time though.

I know a couple of people who frequent here often, so I tired it a bit ago. Now let me say that the 2 stars doesn’t reflect the staff– they were super nice and helpful. The clam strips were frozen and«eh» nothing great. The burger was a frozen patty that had been cooked and when prepared was not very flavorful and was messy. If I was at a baseball game and needed food and this place was the concession then yeah I might eat here again. Otherwise no, I’ve had my fill.

Love this place, great food. Homey feeling inside. I only wished the Philly steak sandwich had cheese sauce instead of regular cheese. Maybe make that another option? My daughter loves it too, especially the fried Oreos.

I love Big Steve’s but wish the prices were a little lower! I seem to spend more than intended every time I get lunch here but the food is ALWAYS good and a nice change from all the chain restaurants around. The girls who work the front are always nice & it’s very clean and bright inside.

Love Big Steve’s. No the food isn’t gourmet, but it is cheap, yummy and fast. The owners are extremely nice. The burgers are good, the blazin mac is good as well. I always get a blt and those are good. My daughter loveees the chicken fingers.

We stumbled upon Big Steve’s on our trip home from Maine to Pennsylvania yesterday and were blown away by how good the burgers are. The owners were behind the counter and were very nice and welcoming. They even brought us over a sample of their lobster stew(very, very good). Everything very clean, great food, I am so glad we found our way here.

Very good small BBQ joint. The pulled pork, chili, and hot dogs are really good! The service is extremely friendly and the staff is always willing to help. Parking is a bit of an issue, though.

It’s Plainville, which may be the most befitting name for a town in the entire state, so one cannot come here expecting a burgeoning restaurant scene. Big Steve’s is a typical find in such a town — a basic burger joint with predictable chow. For $ 6.49, I got the hot dog combo, complete with macaroni and cheese and a soda. An admirable value, as it made for a very filling lunch. The free fixins list includes grilled mushrooms and onions, items other places would likely charge for, so that’s a nice bonus. The hot dog was cooked really well, though the dog itself tasted kinda cheap to me… don’t ask me what brand they use though. The mac and cheese had a curious combination of spices in it — couldn’t quite put my finger on it. It was pretty good though, they at least get credit for making it unique. So yeah, it’s a burger joint. It has local allure, but to turn this place into a destination burger joint, they’d have to bring something a little more special to the table.

Clearly this is not the place to go if you’re a health nut or are on a diet. If you’re in the mood for a nice greasy bacon cheeseburger then Big Steve Grill will hit the spot. You won’t wait long for your burger and it will be cooked exactly to your specifications. I like coming here in the summer when it’s warm enough to sit outside and people watch.

I’ve ordered delivery and takeout here before and food is rather greasy but I don’t go here to count calories. Fried oreos are awesome(of course!). I had a Save Now CT coupon I was going to use and get takeout and bring it back home, but I was in a rush after work so I needed to call the order in. Sadly, they weren’t picking up their phone for over a half an hour(Saturday around 5:30PM). Not closed as far as I can tell but I had to call Save Now CT to get a credit because I wouldn’t be able to use the coupon before it expired. Hard to believe a business would not pick up its phone, caused me a lot more hassle.

Parking: Parking is very hard to get out of if you park at the corner. Getting in was easy but I didn’t realize that backing up was going to be an issue when the restaurant is on the corner with cars coming at you. Food: I wasn’t a fan of the hot dog but my little sister did enjoy it. It tasted like cafeteria style hot dogs to me. Fries– they were very greasy. Service: friendly and quick Value: on the pricy side for what you get. If you want a nice hot dog, drive up route 10 and head to Saints.
