A whole lot of garlic They are bezillions of pizza places in southern New England so on occasion we like to try a place that we haven’t been to before. Sometimes it works out well and other times not so well. Unfortunately this falls into the not so well category. We order the pizzas by phone, two different types with no garlic on either. The guy on the phone sounded like he was having difficultly understanding so I repeated the order three times, very slowly. No garlic was emphasized. He said fine and that they would be ready in 25 minutes. Well when we showed up about a half an hour later the guy at the pizza place looked a bit bewildered but said it would be another ten minutes. After another fifteen minutes I inquire how things were going and he brought out two large pizzas. I paid and since we were running late I made the mistake of not checking what was in the boxes. We arrived back home and as soon as I opened the lids to the boxes I could smell the garlic. Not just a little but both pizzas were absolutely saturated. Even my friend’s wife who loves garlic said the garlic was overwhelming. Besides the copious amounts of garlic, the order was also incorrect and the toppings were wrong. We ended up throwing most of the two pizzas out to the birds. We noticed the birds stayed away from them too. To be fair this was just one experience and pizzas did look pretty good, just prepared wrong and oozing with garlic. The crust on one of the pizzas was also burnt pretty bad. This could have just have been just a bad day or who knows what. Perhaps if we went the day before or a day later the pizzas would have been just what we wanted. But on this particular day the pizzas were as far from what we wanted as possible

Best pizza in CT, and I travel from Avon to get it, but the last time I went over, it was closed. PLEASE tell me you are reopening, or have moved, and if so, where? The brick oven crust is thin and delicious, and the sauce is the best around! I miss you empire!:(

Fails to understand basic instructions. When you get a pizza with half anything the other half should be free of said ingredient. Asked them nicely three times to be sure they did this right and they failed again and again and now, for the last time, again. I called to let them know about their repeated failure and I was sworn at and told never to order again. Ironic that I was calling to tell them I would not be back.

Recently we have been getting a lot of burnt pizzas from here. Not sure what’s up with it. Still a favorite but trying other places nearby.

On our most recent visit we again purchased the $ 3.95, 2 slices of cheese pizza special which comes with a soda. The pizza was just out of the oven and slices were of generous size. Delicious.

My family and I went here on a week night. We ordered a large cheese pizza, a small seafood combo pizza, and the calamari. First, the calamari was brought out. As soon as it was placed on our table we could tell it was not fresh. It was very obviously some cheap, frozen, prepared food product, with nasty grainy breading, not batter. It did not taste fresh, and almost all I could taste was the awful breading. The calamari was tough and chewy like rubber. Then came the cheese pizza, the cheese to sauce ratio was very nice, but the sauce was just not very good or fresh. The crust though, was fantastic. Light and crispy, not too crunchy, and not to soft. It was delicious. If they upgraded their sauce, they would have a great pie on their hands. Next came the seafood combo pizza, a white pie, topped with shrimp, scallops, and clams. Some of the scallops looked freezer burnt. The garlic on this pizza was overpowering. Now, I love garlic, so for me to say such a thing, it has to be strong. This pizza, was so full of garlic it gave you that spicy burning feel in your mouth, even for minutes after you swallowed the bite of food. The seafood on it was not fresh at all, which I suppose is what they were trying to mask with the exorbitant amounts of garlic. Really, I truly do love their crust. I just think it’s a shame that they ruin it with sub-par toppings. Most likely will not be returning any time soon.

Was bored of my normal Friday night delivery pizza delivery regulars & figured it was time to try something different so I hopped onto Unilocal & ordered from Empire Pizza based on the 4 previous 4&5 star reviews. Figured I had stumbled upon a «hidden» new pizza place & went to their website & was very pleased to see online ordering. So I ordered and received my email confirmation that my pizza was on its way! The email stated that I should have my order in 45 minutes or under. Good Stuff. After waiting an hour, with starving kids, I decided I should just call to make sure they weren’t lost & was petty shocked when the receptionist told me that their fax machine was broken, so they hadn’t received my order. I asked her why I received an email an hour ago stating they had & she just said«I don’t know what to tell you» in a very rude manner. I asked about my credit card being charged & it was then she decided to ask someone if they had received my order. Magically, I was told, my food was on its way. Shortly after, the driver arrived & gave us the food. The pizza was soggy, could barely eat 1 piece. Absolutely nothing I would ever order again. The wings actually tasted like oil. The blue cheese beyond watered down with mayonnaise. I had ordered boneless & paid the $ 1 extra & received the cheaper boned version.(That I threw away due to the taste) Unilocal reviews rarely let me down, but I must say that I am not only disappointed, but rather hungry. If you are looking for GOOD brick oven pizza, buyer beware, after my experience with them, this isn’t it.

I’ve been looking for the best delivery pizza in Plainviille, and I finally found it!!! Pizza = awesome. Thin crust, extremely light and flavorful. Made to order– with special requests! Greek salad = better than restaurant quality! Came with a block of feta DVD three stuffed grape leaves. get the balsamic dressing. So good, I may have licked the plate after. Deliver time was about 20 minutes. Very reasonable prices. My new go to delivery spot.

The pizza is great. We typically order a plain cheese pizza and it’s always delicious. Brick oven, thin crust, perfect amount of sauce and cheese = just the way I like it. We usually do take out. Recently, the service has been pretty bad. If they’re busy, watch out — your order may be forgotten about. Some of the younger employees have seemed disorganized and have on several occasions neglected to enter in orders. The pizza is very good though.
