Food seems to be falling off. We used to go once a week. Now it’s full of families and the half rack I had tonight was just kinda meh. Fortunately there are other bbq places nearby.

The funny thing is, my wife and I went to eat BBQ at this place, not knowing it was a theme restaurant. We were scared to death when greeted by the scanty clothing hostess. No we are not religious prudes, we just don’t patronage these kind of restaurants(Twin Peaks, Hooter’s, etc), because the food is mediocre at best and it’s all about the scenery. Miraculously, we were pleasantly surprised. The pull pig sandwich, BBQ beans, chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cream corn and the hamburgers were all very good. We even order last year the Turkey dinner from them, with all the sides and it was awesome. We’ve been back to eat since then, but won’t venture to any other theme restaurant, we might not be do lucky.

For a chain, I was pleasantly surprised by our dining experience here. We were seated immediately although there was confusion by the wait staff so we waited 10 minutes before someone came to take our drink order. The waitress apologized profusely and compensated us with a free appetizer. Our drinks were served promptly. They brought us a decent vodka martini and an exceptionally cold draft beer which we enjoyed with their Tail Pipe appetizer. It is a jalapeño stuffed with smoked brisket and cheese than battered and fried. They removed all the seeds so it wasn’t very spicy. I sampled the Texas sized chicken fried steak which was very tender and good enough to eat even without the gravy. I had a ½ rack of very tender baby back ribs. They were meaty enough and the warm bbq sauce they bring to the table made them even better. Even the sides tasted fresh, I had the beans that had nice pieces of smoked brisket in it and some cheesy potatoes. Definitely a place we will hit up again.

Great experience. The food was good, service was great, and the beer was cold. That’s all I need.

The service at the bar is awful. 2 bartenders behind the bar and I was ignored. My water was NEVER refilled. I was served one beer and never ask if I wanted another. They took my order the 1 st time and then stood at the other end of the bar talking to guests. I have an empty beer mug and an empty water glass in front of me. Should I just refill my water in the bathroom? I won’t be back.

Great place for ribs and bbq, it’s a Texas chain that’s really worth trying with the food moderately priced but large portions, friendly service, and delicious food. They have happy hour from 2 – 7, and if I was in the area any longer I’d definitely come back for that and probably watch a football game. We sat at the bar, though seats are plentiful in the main area. The atmosphere could almost be a Hooter’s or «breastaurant» with all the beautiful, modestly scantily clad young waitresses. All the customers around the bar were men, so it’s pretty obvious their marketing strategy is working. Also, the waitresses though pretty, did have a decent amount of foundation and makeup caked on, though I’m not sure if that’s a Dallas/Texan thing or a restaurant thing. They were really pretty though, and very friendly. The food was excellent and exactly what we wanted in a Dallas bbq joint. Since it was Sunday, a lot of small restaurants were closed, so we were really happy to find this place close to where we had to be in an hour. Service was friendly and fast, the food was juicy and tender. I ordered the prime brisket sandwich and can’t complain. Served with beans and fries, the price came to about $ 13 with tax and tip. Great place, easy parking all around, located outside a mall for convenience. Definitely left a great impression of Dallas for us.

We have visited this Bone Daddy’s several times. I would say at least twice a month. We have never had any problems. This was the first time we sat with a full view of the bar staff. While the food was good, as it always is, we were very disheartened by the waitstaff. The two bartenders were over serving patrons, while also serving themselves drinks. When the manager would come into the bar area, they would change their demeanor. He would leave, they would make a drink for a customer, make a drink for themselves, taste their customer’s drink to see if it was strong enough, add more liquor, etc. Manager would reappear, bartenders would put drinks away. It was quiet comical. Except, not really when you stop to think about it. Our waitress barely waited on us. She was more interested in sitting at a table full of guys next to us for the whole time she was supposed to be working and waiting on tables, ours included. Boy, this was not a good night for Bone Daddy’s Plano. You should probably looked into the people you have running your restaurant before you get closed down. That would be a shame.

Very good food and service! Sometimes it takes a while to get seated which speaks to the quality.

Bone Daddy’s bbq is as fine as the ladies who work there. I usually sit at the bar and the service is always top notch. Quick and pleasant bartenders provide great service and plenty of chit chat if you are in the mood for it. I like that it is one of the few bbq joints in Texas that is not self serve. You get a menu, they take your order and you don’t need to carry around a cafeteria style tray. What should you order? I almost always go for the pulled pork plate with 2 sides. The turkey is also terrific in you are eating low fat. The Mac and cheese and the bbq beans are tough to beat for the sides. The cheesy potatoes are also stellar. They give you sauce on the meat plus a warm squirt bottle of sauce on the side. Its my bbq place of choice — maybe not authentic Texas style but it is still tasty!

Waitresses are very sweet and attentive… Our food came out quickly and we never had to wait on a refill. The BBQ is very good. The deserts are better :).

This will be my second time to this location and both times were always a good experience. My go to meal here is their BBQ wings with sauce on the side and their beans are oh so yummy as well. All in all, food is good and service is great.

Had the appetizer sampler, which was very good. Kid and husband had the pulled pork and thought it was good. Wait staff is scantily dressed(sort of a Hooters meets Texas Roadhouse) — just a warning for anyone who may have an issue with that. That being said — the service is A+++. Drinks were refilled without asking. Food came out quick too.

I was visiting from out of state and stopped by for lunch today on the recommendation of a friend. The parking lot was packed. That was the first good sign. The second good sign was that even though the restaurant was busy, I was able to get seated right away. My waitress, Paige, provided excellent service. My soda was refilled before it was empty and she stopped by frequently to see how I was doing. When I paid my bill, she brought a to-go soda. I was not expecting that and it was nice to have a cold Coke for the road. The food was outstanding. I ordered a two meat plate, pulled pork and honey ham, along with Mac and Cheese and Coleslaw for sides. I had a less than 5 minute wait from the time that Paige took my order to the plate arriving at my table. The meat was tender and tastes great. The BBQ sauce was excellent and not too overpowering in either spice or sweetness. Whenever I visit Plano I’ll be sure to stop in for lunch again. All-in-all a great experience!

Chopped brisket. All you need to know about Bone Daddy’s is that their chopped brisket is amazing. If you come to BD, you must order it. I got the two-meat platter of the chopped brisket and the Jammin Backyard Chicken with potato salad and a house salad. The salad was fresh, the potato salad was ok(although my boyfriend fell madly for it) and the chicken was fine. But that chopped brisket. It was so tender and soft. My boyfriend’s sister ordered it over a salad and that is definitely what I would do next time. Eating some fresh greens and veggies would make me feel less guilty about stuffing my face with that brisket. The appetizer of fried jalapeño peppers stuffed with BBQ chicken and cheese were noteworthy because they were something different. They weren’t spectacular, but they are not something that you typically see prepared this way, and they tasted pretty good. I like to try different things when I travel and this is not standard in MD by any stretch. Service was a bit spotty. This place is like a pirate-themed Hooters, with servers dressed in lace up corsets, short skirts and thigh-high pirate boots. That being said, it really is a family restaurant. Everyone was super nice and friendly, and when they realized they didn’t have any kids’ cups for the toddlers in our group, someone ran to a neighboring establishment to get some. Talk about going above and beyond. That was awesome. What wasn’t awesome was waiting at length for drinks from the bar. I am also pretty sure I got a regular margarita instead of the spicy one that I ordered. To be fair, I didn’t say anything, but it was so late into the meal by the time it arrived that it wasn’t worth it. It was still a good margarita nonetheless. The bar looked like a fun place to sit and grab a drink I would definitely come here and hang out in the bar with a beer and some brisket if I lived in the area. The DBF is going to be mad at me for giving BD a three star review. He thought his meal was worthy of four stars. He loved his chicken and turkey two-meat platter, and he proclaimed the potato salad to be one of the best he’s ever had. I am fine with a three star review given the very good and the not-so-good. Bone Daddy’s is A-OK in my book!

I’ve been here a number of times with workmates. We love the atmosphere and the food. The waitresses we normally get are very attentive. I normally get the half rack ribs which are good with coleslaw and beans. I’ve also tried the beer can chicken and the wings which are great. Lunch time and happy hour can be busy and sometimes if you have a big party you many have to wait at least 15 or so minutes to get seated. Price is little high for some entrees but I guess they have to pay all the wait staff they got! Overall, the place is clean, good atmosphere with TV’s all around, and good service from the waitress’s. Will be coming back again.

Tried Bone Daddy’s yesterday for the first time. Atmosphere was good, everything was clean at the table. Waitress was attentive and friendly. If some of the food had been just a bit better, I would have given 5 stars. Ribs were good. After asking for a fattier cut of brisket, what I ended up with was as dry as meat you could get. YUK Even after dousing it in sauce, it was just not very good. Good barbeque shouldn’t really need sauce anyway. The sides Coleslaw was O K. Beans were good. Price was a tad high for what you get in my opinion. I guess if you go to look at the wait staff, you don’t mind paying a little extra, but I go for the food.

Taking cute waitstaff out of the picture, this place stands on its own two feet as a great restaurant. Every server we have ever had has been friendly and attentive, especially Lindsey. This is not always the treatment you get as a female going into a «female concept.» The tables and condiments on the tables are always clean and tidy, and the food is perfect every time. This includes Togo orders! All in all, we love going to BD’s in Plano!

Great food, reasonable prices! A lot of people compare it to Hooters, but I really don’t think so at all. Hooters has a cheap persona. Bone Daddy’s is a lot more chill, it has a good bbq/rock n roll vibe, and you don’t feel like the waitresses are the main show over the food. If you’re a guy, sure, you’ll like their revealing outfits. But as a girl, I didn’t feel like that was the main point of this restaurant at all. Unlike Hooters. I got the sliced brisket sandwich with fries and cole slaw. It was all good. The brisket has major smoke ring going, but the quality of the beef isn’t as good as the few true blue barbeque joints I’ve been to. Not saying it’s bad quality. Just not AS great. The fries are good. Cole slaw is creamy, slightly sweet, not my type of cole slaw — but not watery/soupy either –and that’s a plus. The queso appetizer is AWESOME! Creamy texture without being too thick or too thin, and had some goodies mixed in. A slight kick but nothing glaringly noticeable. This is probably my favorite menu item here so far! My sandwich was $ 9 and some change including tax. Very good deal. The platters are in the $ 12 range, and the chicken fried steak looks YUMMY. Huge, too. Of course. Service is really friendly, quick, and they refill drinks regularly. It was busy during the lunch rush, but seating readily available. It’s a sizeable restaurant and bar. Not a bad place to hit up if you’re in the area and you’re looking for bbq or some southern cooking(they have fried okra too), and you want an easygoing ambiance and good portions for the price you pay.
