ok food, very heavy. It’s ok for fast food on the run

Ordered takeout, a big tater with meat, side of fried okra, and a piece of pecan pie. When I get home I discover the potato was nearly raw on the inside, and the whole thing had pulled pork slapped on top of it, the rest of the toppings were packed in small containers. I had to pick all the meat off the raw potato, try to fill it with toppings, of which were missing green onions, and then put the meat back on. I couldn’t choke this thing down. You couldn’t mix the potato with the toppings because it was too hard, not Mashable. They get the fried okra right, and the pecan pie is edible. But the potatoes need to be cooked much longer to be anywhere close to edible. Seriously disappointed.

We had not tried Dickey’s BBQ yet so decided to get take out while we watch March Madness. They made a mistake on two of the orders. When I called, they offered to deliver new orders to us, which they did quickly. One way I judge a business is how they handle a problem situation and they handled it excellent. Food was very good! We will definitely go back.

Service and staff were wonderful. Manager, I assuming, came around and checked in on is and a lovely lady came around to clear the table of unused dishes and trash. We ordered pulled pork, ribs, beef brisket, and sausage with sides of Mac n cheese, potatoes au gratin, loaded potato, and bbq beans. Neither my husband nor I cared for the cheesy items but absolutely LOVED the bbq beans and the meats were very tender and delicious. The peach cobbler was good as well. The only thing we thought which was out of the ordinary is that the meat was kept in cellophane wrap and served onto plates from it. Gave the impression that it was yesterday’s leftovers.

Excellent service, great food, and prompt take-out service. We have been to this location a few times over the past couple of years and prefer it over others because the food seems to taste much better and the kitchen looks clean. We ordered a large take-out dinner a little over a month ago and were extremely pleased with how quickly we were able to get in, get the food, and leave. They went through the food items thoroughly and made sure that we were satisfied before we left. One of the people there(I believe his name was Jose) was extremely professional and provided us with excellent customer service by helping us out while we were there. The food and sides were awesome and everything was still hot by the time we got it back to the house, Thank you Dickey’s BBQ! Definitely 5⁄5 Stars, We will be coming back!

Went there last night 1−6−16(drive thru) to pick up dinner. Ribs were dry; over cooked. Pulled pork was also very dry. Ordered 8 rolls and they were hard as a rock… all of them! Who would sell stale food? This is my last trip to this location. Love Dickey’s, just go to another location. This Preston Road location is just not good.

We have been to several different Dickey’s in Collin County. All are excellent for a franchise dining experience. Being honest the one-off been around a hundred years BBQ with lots of local atmosphere are my favorites. And often too crowded to get into so Dickey’s fills my eating niche for BBQ. Service cafeteria style so you can drop by with a large group and get everyone feed very fast.

I ordered takeout and I was in and out quickly. I had a 2 meat combo of brisket and pulled pork. Everything was fine, but nothing really stuck out. My sides were corn casserole that was good, a salad. Seemed like an older crowd of locals that were there for the buffet.

I haven’t been to Dickey’s in years. I was on my way home and thought how about some BBQ. I went through the drive thru and ordered the baker with chopped beef. The menu says $ 7.99 with a drink. I told them I didn’t need a drink so I asked if they could deduct the price of the drink. The girl at the drive thru had no clue how to take off the price of the drink. I will not be back to Dickey’s again. The price of a baker should not be $ 8.65. Thanks for steering me to other BBQ places. Don’t go to Dickey’s on Preston in Plano. Clueless workers.

Love this place, it is a trusty place to go have some good food fast. Not the best BBQ in town by far, but still it is enjoyable. Consider it a nice step up above fast food. Food is ready so no waiting, always ample seating. Great sides here, which can’t be said of some of my favorite BBQ places that excel with smokey meats.

Good brisket. It’s not smoky or with a char. It’s very lean and moist. Some people don’t like this style but I go every where in search of BBQ and this has it merits. New kid with first job, Renatto ?, couldn’t get the smile off his face as he helped customers in every way. We made sure management knew he rocked.

Awesome staff, awesome food. Everyone is very friendly and waiting is pretty much nonexistent.

Another boring mass production of poorly claimed barbecue. People stick with the hole in the wall bbq huts. DRY meats, you cut all the bark off and fat off(duh thats where the flavor is at!) Sides are CARB central.

This is my 2nd or 3rd choice when I’m looking for some BBQ. Brisket is tasty & falls apart, turkey is sweet & tender. The chicken breast isn’t bad, but it’s a bit dry. Mac & Cheese is really good & the fried okra is tender & crispy. This is my favorite Dickey’s BBQ eatery. Service & attention is nice too & the staff is friendly.

Got the Westerner sandwich for lunch the other day and really enjoyed it– love the beef brisket and sausage here. The hardest part is deciding what 2 sides to get– they all look amazing. I’d recommend the mac and cheese. Dickey’s has good sweet tea too! Great lunch specials, friendly service, not too pricey– great place to come every once in a while for a BBQ fix.

Ordered food from here for an event tonight where I needed to feed about 30 people. Called in the order the day before and they delivered it right on time. The food was hot and tasty. They also dropped off plenty of plates, utensils, napkins and cups. Everyone really enjoyed the food and it was a really easy experience for me.

I have been to other Dickey’s locations and the food was good. OK It’s a chain but I like it. My girlfriend and I was hungry so we decided to stop in. We went to the order and tried to order. My girlfriend who was in line first stood there and the guy serving the meat finally waited on her. She ordered a chicken sandwich on a cornbread bun. The guy acted mad went to the freezer, got the buns and slammed them on the counter. he makes her sandwich and starts to get her sides instead of waiting on me he walks away. I stand there for a few minutes and I finally get his attention(He obviously seen me he was just being a jerk) He takes my order. I ask for the spicy cheese sausage and instead he gives me the regular sausage. When I point this out he snatches the sausage from my plate and throws it back on the counter and gives me what I ordered. When we got to the table I discovered the brisket was so fatty it was barely edible. The sausage I fought so hard to get was EXTREMELY dry. I believe it had been sitting there for a long time. Longer I believe than Dickey’s corporate would recommend. My girlfriends sandwich wasn’t much better. The cornbread bun was still frozen and her chicken was fatty(I didn’t think you could get fatty chicken but this guy found a way to do it!) The cream corn was a joke. It was pretty much just corm which had been places in cream. No flavor at all to it. Needless to say I won’t be back to this location. I hope someone from Dickey’s corporate reads this and fixes this location.

Ok, time to update this review, as I’ve been here several times since 2011. Let’s just say the quality since has gone straight up. It’s now bordering on 4 – 5 stars. Many trips result in a 5 star experience. I’ve enjoyed their brisket, hot links, ham, as well as fried okra, green beans and mac/cheese. Keep up the great work!

This is a great place to go if you want fast, real food. This place always has a big crowd of men at lunch and I often see older couples and families at dinner time. I’m not one of those bbq foodies but I think this Dickey’s location is a great place to bring out of town friends and family for a dependable bbq experience in Plano. I stick to the chopped pork tacos most trips but sometimes get a sandwich. I like a lean cut of meat so I stick to the pork I think the brisket is more greasy than the pork but it still has a good flavor. The ham is quite lean. I’ve had the chicken at the Park location and it is amazing so I hope to get it here soon. They have a long line of buffet style sides, not just the typical beans and cole slaw. I’ve never seen the sides messy or depleted so they pay a lot of attention to turnover and you’re never getting the dregs. The okra is generally hot and good for being buffet style. But a fried okra aficionado might be wary and adjust their expectations. This location has the cleanest condiment bar of the 5 Plano/Frisco Dickeys I’ve been to. Love being able to mix the 3 bbq sauces to my sweetness and spicy levels. The ice cream seals the deal.
