This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurant. Very authentic Chinese food! Good service. I would go back.

We ordered two appetizers: pigs ear in hot and spicy sauce & soybean skin in garlic sauce. My wife ate every bit of it! Our main meal was pork, cabbage and green onion dumplings and radish pancake. Both were very fresh and very delicious! The service was outstanding!

Seems under new ownership. Everything has been improved. Especially service. Food as great as always. Green onion pancake and fried cream custard recommend.

The first time I came here I really liked it, but the more I came the less I like it… First of all they like to randomly close their doors during their open hours, so we never know when they are actually open. The service is spotty, some servers are good some suck. The food is good, half the menu is pretty authentic and the other half is like panda. The buns are really good but they are buns not dumplings so the breading is thick. Their dumpings are also good. The green onion pancake was my favorite in Dallas the first time I came here, very crispy, but they got less crispy each time I came, my latest visit the dough was still raw in the middle. Chicken pancake is also great, its like a croquette with chicken filling.

I bought a Groupon here to try out thinking it wasn’t going to be that great but I was wrong. For our first time, the food and service was great. We ordered steamed pork and cabbage dumplings, fried fish, and green onion pancake. The dumplings were very juicy and tasted very fresh. Fiancé was a big fan of those and wants to try more of the dumplings next time. Fried fish was delicious. The batter was crispy but not greasy, very savory tasting which was a nice compliment to a bowl of rice. The green onion pancake was nicely fried and didn’t look like the kind I buy frozen. I only saw 2 main servers in the dining room at the time but the waiter specifically was extremely efficient in helping everyone in a timely manner. He was personable and very accommodating. We live close so this is definitely a good Chinese option for us.

Before I came here, I read a lot of reviews about how slow the service is beginning from the moment you walk through the doors. I was ready for the slow service. I have to say, my experience was the complete opposite. I arrived at around 6:00 p.m.on Tuesday and there were about 4 tables filled. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a kind lady, I forget her name, and asked whether I was a dine-in or takeout. When seated, our order was promptly taken and on top of that, the waitstaff visited our table at least 6 times to make sure we were doing okay. Oh, did I mention that I had made at least four orders at different times. The staff was very kind and did not seem bothered by this at all. I had even asked if they were under new management because of how much attention our table was getting. The male server’s response was a negative and he seemed quite concerned with my question… Well, we ordered a lot of food for a party of 2.5 and enjoyed everything — from the combination fried rice to the pineapple paste and red bean paste buns. We also had an amazing noodle dish that I can’t recall the name and is not listed in their online menu. In any event, the pasta is handmade and is opaque white in color and shaped like a seashell. We ordered the cabbage dumpling as well as the bun version. Both were excellent. I really enjoyed the Soybean Skin in Garlic Sauce, which was a cold appetizer. It was a very generous amount. I am looking forward to trying their green onion or chives pancake on our next visit.

Groupon and the simplicity of the name Dumpling House enticed me to go to this place. Should’ve known that there are only so many diamonds available on Groupon. This was not one of them. Hot and spicy beef and beef tendon soup left a lot to be desired. To be fair, the noodles were pretty well done(good consistency and bite to it) and the soup was hot and spicy, but it lacked depth of flavor. The portion of noodles to protein was disappointing. I didn’t really have enough beef nor tendon to get a good feel for the taste, but it was nice and soft. Dumplings were a good texture and plenty filling, but again lacked flavor. We had the pork and shrimp, which came with 8 pieces. Without the Groupon, our bill came to $ 30 and I just can’t justify spending that much for that little taste. Go elsewhere for your soup and dumpling fix. To end on a positive note, our waitress was very nice and fast. She refilled my water at least 5 times and right when I would finish it. They also have Apple Pay and put orders in through their smart phones, so service was fast.

I have been meaning to try this for the longest time and finally got a chance to try it over the weekend. Sadly we did not enjoy our bland food and probably won’t be returning. Service was actually good and quick, not sure if it was maybe because we were their first customer of the day. Our waitress was very nice though but the food did not rank quite as well. I was hoping they have soup dumplings but they don’t. Garlic cucumber — highly salty and made me cringe every time I took a bite. Pig ears — the pig ear was cooked nicely but it was drenched in chili sesame oil. That’s all you could taste and was lacking other flavors. Beef and tendon noodle soup — the noodles itself was good and the beef/tendon was tender but the broth was just blah. It was too herbal yet bland. Pork and green onion Gogulbi — the dumpling dough was good but the filling was again bland. Beef pancakes — I actually enjoyed this the most, although not the best because again it was bland but I liked the crispness of the dough and how juicy it was.

Food here is amazing, one of the best Chinese food here in Plano. Yes, I know that’s a tall claim. I rate restaurants based on 4 things, consistency, flavor, freshness, and value. Bonus point for creativity and service. This restaurant has some of the freshest food and best flavor around here. And everytime I come here it’s good. So far nothing I ate taste close to being as good, and I eat out A LOT. Value wise it’s good because the price is fair for the amt of food you get. Service is what everyone complains about. I understand that. I also understand that the restaurant industry has tight margin and it’s hard to manage payroll. I do not deduct points unless it actually affects the quality of the food. 5 star for the amazing authentic food.

OK, this is one of those times where I wish Unilocal let us rate service and food separately. Service: Needs work! — Been here more than a handful of times. Never really seated(or greeted) when you first come in.(Even if there are plenty of empty tables!) They really need to not skimp out on hiring a hostess! I’ve been asked to write my name time on the list, but no one looks or refers to it… so what’s the point??? — It takes a while to flag someone down to order and to get the check. But when you have their attention, you’ve got their full attention! So at least that’s good! — They’re pretty high tech here, Nest thermostat, ordering with the iPods etc. They advertise they have Apple Pay(but don’t really use it). Why can’t they implement something for the hostess? Even if it’s something to help the servers organize… it’d be nice! Food: Awesome! — Dumplings steamed or potstickers, all good! — Scallion pancake is good — Noodles are not so impressive(seafood noodle is sorta bland but beef noodle is not bad) — Popcorn chicken is good, huge chunks of chicken, not really what we usually expect for popcorn chicken, but good batter So all in all, 4.5−5 stars for food and 1.5−2 stars for service

We came for dinner on Thursday and seated right away. The place was nice, clean, and we liked their choice of music… :-) All dumpling orders came with 8 pieces for steamed and 10 pieces for fried. So yes, they are meant to be shared. We went ahead ordered cucumber in garlic sauce(cold plate), steamed pork & chinese chive dumpling, fried beef & onion dumpling, steamed pork & green onion bun(guo bu li), and noodle with soy bean paste(zha jiang mian). We thought their steam pork & green onion bun was mediocre; it seemed oversteamed and lacked the airy/fluffy bun texture(3*). Their steamed pork & chinese chive dumpling was juicy, had good flavor, but we thought the skin could be better(4*). The noodle with soy bean paste was pretty good; it was better than Bulldaddy’s version, but not as good King Noodle’s(4*). We all enjoyed their fried beef dumpling and the cucumber cold plate the most; they were definitely the highlight of our dinner(5*). Service was great during our visit. We will definitely be back now that we know what to order!

Smokey and tasty double cooked pork with tons of veggies! That’s was the best of what I ordered. The pork and cabbage dumplings were big but decent tasting. Juicy almost like a soup dumpling but less soupy. Filing! Green onion pancake was huge and crispy. Kind of grows on you. I usually don’t order fried rice but it was really good here! Kinda chewy and greasy in a good way! Not Too salty. Used a groupon. Saved about $ 10. I would have not gotten the $ 4.50 pot of green tea had I know it was that pricey. Service was spotty. They seem to have a shortage of rice. I may come back to try the beef noodle soup.

I REALLY wanted to give this place a good review, but after hearing about this last experience, I’m just incredibly disappointed with this place. My parents came here two weeks ago on a Thursday and ordered the buns which weren’t even cooked and it was still cold/half frozen biting into it. They were literally serving raw meat(the color of the meat was way too pink.) That raises many questions from health safety issues to just plain, terrible food and bad service. This happened with multiple dishes, and while they replaced it after it was brought to their attention, no restaurant should be serving under cooked,(literally) frozen/raw meat in the first place. You can also tell that the bun wrapper skin had a precooked color. I’ve been here before but I never encountered these issues and actually enjoyed the green scallion pancakes and buns here, but I’m definitely going to avoid this place because I don’t want to get sick and I really hope my parents don’t get sick from eating raw pork meat. Apparently this raw meat/frozen meat problem happened to a family sitting in a table near us with two kids, and they ended up not even paying for their food because they were just eating raw meat. This proves this wasn’t an isolated incident. It must’ve been the whole batch? This restaurant needs to seriously work on their quality control because you’re gonna lose customers quick this way…

The food is ok, my friends and I visited here several times before, but this time will definitely be my last time. We ordered goubuli buns, I saw the meat inside is a little pink, then I asked the waitress to check with the chef to see if the meat is too raw and maybe steam for another five minutes. What happened next really shocked me, the chef kept saying trash talks loudly, then TRASHED the food WITHOUT asking us. Although they didn’t charge us the buns, it doesn’t make any sense to me. This service is really horrible, we just lost the joy in this negative atmosphere.

I had the tendon noodles soup. .so good!.. if you like tendons. Onion pancake was just ok despite the reviews I read they were the best thing going. .I recommend the meat pancake. .those were the best thing going! I ordered pig ears. .I thought they were going to be warm but they were served cold so didn’t care for those. My red bean pancakes I ordered because I thought they were going to be like the Korean ones. .and they were totally different..

Ate here tonight, and their dumplings are huge. We got the pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings, the steamed chive dumplings, and the green onion pancake. I’ve already mentioned that their dumplings are huge, larger than your average dumpling anywhere else(jeng chi, mknc, etc) – which can be a good thing or bad thing. That being said, perhaps they can work on their technique a bit. Our pan fried dumplings were burnt on the outside, slightly pink on the inside(and not in a good way), and very greasy. Instead of a big ball of filling, the filling fell apart as we ate it, very strange. We alerted the manager on duty, who took care of it in a professional manner. One star. Their steamed chive dumplings were good, as was their green onion pancake. Two stars. Would come back to try again. Three stars for now.

Goubuli buns are there signature thing, and are very good. Didn’t try much else, so can’t say anything about the rest. The buns come both steamed and fried, so we tried one order of each. Flavor of the filling is the same(predictably) — personally I preferred the steamed, but I think most people would prefer the fried? The steamed buns are a little bit lighter tasting, fwiw. I was told the dumplings here are excellent as well, but didn’t actually try them. Warning: service can be quite slow here, which is kind of annoying, but the food’s pretty good, so…

I bought a gift certificate for $ 15 off a minimum purchase of $ 30 on 10÷27÷15 with no expiration date. Today the restaurant declined to honor the certificate. And apparently their heating system is broken because they were using space heaters. The only other time I had been here the A/C was broken and they had a portable A/C that only managed to keep one table cool. We were sweating through our dinner that time! The environment, atmosphere, and customer service are a definite 0 star. We will definitely not be coming back to this restaurant.

This is a rating of their service. We did not get the privilege of trying their food because of the rudeness and went next door to the much superior Bavarian Grill, which always provides filling and delicious food along with friendly service. We walked in and wrote our names on the clipboard, as suggested by other Unilocalers. There were 2 empty tables and the servers would make eye contact with us but not say anything. Are we supposed to be waiting? Are you guys closed? Fill us in please and not just stare at us standing by the door… I went with my mom and there was another older couple in front of us also standing there for 15 minutes. We were talking and decided to share a larger table and since no one was acknowledging us, we just decided to sit down. Once we sat down THEN a server came and told us we couldn’t sit there because it seated 6 and we only had 4 people. Excuse me! If you wanted me to sit at a different table, you probably should have seated me in the 15 minutes we were standing there! So, if they had multiple tables available, why didn’t anyone seat us 15 minutes ago? Then they refused to give us menus until we moved, so we moved to the other available table and got no service. After another 15 minutes, someone finally brought us water. At that point, we were so fed up, we just got up and went next door. We made a new friend! But I will never be going back to Dumpling House again. I’ve never felt so insulted. I’m trying to give you my money and this is how I’m treated? I don’t understand why they have so many stars? How good can there food possibly be for someone to put up with this much disrespect? Luckily I’m Chinese and can get Chinese food all the time. Also, there’s this wonderful place in Frisco called Potstickers with HUGE delicious dumplings, potstickers, beef noodle soup, and friendly service! My advice, everyone go to Potstickers in Frisco and close down these rude people!

I agree with Sophia about the service. They are horrible… also their«stir fry chef» hasn’t been there for two weeks??? REALLY??? The Goubuli buns are amazing, and the pancakes are«wow» tasty with tons of meat… especially compared to most Chinese restaurants. Don’t come here if you are in a hurry, or in a bad mood or are generally short tempered. It will ruin the experience and you may ruin your night. I guarantee these will be some of the best things you eat, and it will be in spite of the service. This may be 5 stars, except for variety. If I were rating the service, it would be –4 stars. Just make sure you write your name on the sheet when you first get in the entry way. They need a hostess.

This was my 2nd attempt at trying this restaurant. First attempt the sign said they were open but the door was locked and I saw several people walk up as well. I would recommend you call before you go. My second attempt was well worth it. A customer recommended the Goubuli bun which is ground pork and green onion… it was DELICIOUS !!! Also ordered the Chicken and mushroom dumpling and the Green onion pancake. Apparently the fry cook wasn’t in so we could not order the fried rice, so we ordered white rice. We never received the white rice but everything else was yummy and I will be back. I plan to go back and take my family.

The steamed Goubuli buns are stellar, but I am not returning to this restaurant until it hires more staff. For how busy it is and how large the restaurant is, Dumpling House needs to hire more waiters and actual busboys. Right now, there are 2 – 3 waiters that are in charge of everything, which is not efficient. For all I know, they may even be the ones going to the back and making the dumplings, too! I also do not appreciate the blanket statement that they use after we get seated each time. «All orders will take a long time, because there are a lot of people here.» That is not acceptable. The restaurant can generate more income if the turnover is faster. This is probably one of the worst run restaurants I’ve been in a while.

I am definitely give a 5 start to this warm dumpling house. My friend bring me some pork bun(Gou bu Li) before. I was surprised I never eat some bun like this one taste so good. This time I drive stop by. They have really nice and clean environment. They don’t have any piece of mass on the floor. The decoration and the decal printing on the window is beautiful. I love waiting here for my to go with nice music and a cup of tea. The outside bun skin is soft and the meat inside is tender and juicy. The put a lil too much green onion inside the Gou bu Li, but still good. They have different option for the bun which is leak vege bun, pork cabbage bun. I love Gou bu Li and leak bun is the best. I also like steam pumpkin shrimp dumpling and steam beef onion dumpling. They have too many option for buns and dumpling. And also the noodles. I will try some noodle next time. There is no need too much word to describe the how good the foot here. Let me tell you, just go eat it. U won’t disappoint if u r a big bun and dumpling fan.

Why it this place called Dumpling House? Their dumplings don’t taste fresh… more like they were made overnight or previously frozen. The dumpling skin was dry(yes, it’s «dry» even for steamed dumplings… go figure that out) and lack of taste. The(pork) meat didn’t taste good either. Frozen dumplings from 99 are better than that. Only the Tofu dumplings seemed to be fresh and taste good. Beef Noodle Soup: Served warm(yeah…not hot). The beef was dry… again, overnight stuff or put in the refrigerator for too long. If you want to have good dumplings, go to Fortune House in Irving instead. Overall: Quite a disappointment. Won’t be back.

A late lunch it was so no wait whatsoever! Nice surprise of finding«cats’ ears» in menu and this morsel of little ‘gnocchi’ was delicious! So was their spicy beef noodle — tender wonderfully marinated beef, al dente noodles, and savory broth! As for their steam & fried dumplings — I’ll give them a leeway that we came in late, the skins on the dumplings were chewy rather than smooth! DH definitely is worth a try! Cheers!

This restaurant recently moved from Irving to Plano, and there’s definitely been some changes. Despite a new location, the décor is your average run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. The wait wasn’t too bad at the time I went, but that could be because it was a rainy Wednesday night. We quickly got a table, but it took a long time for a server to come by and take our order. Some of the servers have a system on their iPhone to take your order, but I feel like this takes too much time especially with such a robust menu. We ordered the green tea, millet porridge, marinated beef tendon, fried pork & chinese chives dumplings, hot & spicy beef noodle soup, pork & cabbage buns, and beef pancakes. $ 4 for tea seemed a bit pricey, until I realized that they give you a whole pot of tea. Free refills too! The millet porridge was a little bland, but your standard porridge. The marinated beef tendons were super good – not too spicy or salty, and just the right amount of chili oil. The fried pork & chinese chives dumplings were a little too oily for my taste, but they were considerably bigger in size than other dumpling places like Jeng Chi. The hot & spicy beef noodle soup was done very well. The soup was just the right amount of spice for me(although this might be too spicy for other people). The pieces of beef were tender. I only wish the noodles were handmade like other places that have beef noodle soup. The beef pancakes were definitely the star of the show for this meal. They were a little bit oily, but the outside was perfectly fried and the meat inside was very juicy. It is definitely a good sign if you have to hold a spoon underneath the beef pancake to catch all the extra soup! Overall, I would definitely go back if I was in the area.

Horrible service. As we walked in there were many tables still opened. And this one waiter walked by us several times just looking at us. Until this older lady greeted and seated us. Who just walks by and looks at their customers as we wait by the door? The older lady was pretty much the only person serving everyone at the restaurant. However, 3 stars go to their food. I’d go for steam dumpling there. The fried dumpling is like half fried half steamed. But still good. But don’t go for the calamari veggies. There was absolutely no taste to it. And one plate of the curry noodles looking dish we ordered was too salty. Their dessert we had was the taro bun. It was tasty but it was a bit watery. Maybe they over steamed it a little bit. In conclusion, go there for the dumplings. I haven’t tried other noodles but there were a lot of people ordering a bowl of noodle with their dumpling dishes.

My mom’s friends were telling her about this place so I was really excited for some good buns, and what not, but I was not impressed. It was just us two and ordered more than enough just so we could try everything we wanted. I honestly can’t even tell you what we ordered without looking at the menu because nothing really stood out for me. Luckily, I took a bunch of pictures so I can try and play match. First, I was disappointed because they don’t have XiaoLongBao(soup dumplings) and I was under the impression they did… Oops. They do have a GouBuLi Bun which I guess is the next best thing but it wasn’t amazing or anything. I’ve definitely had better pork buns before. The green onion pancake was very thick and lacked flavor. In fact, every other dish that followed I felt the same way. They just have too thick of a dough/skin/bun for my liking with very little flavor. I had to dip everything in my soy sauce and chili but even then it was just meh. Maybe I wasn’t very hungry, or something, but nothing made me want to come back. I’m not even a very picky eater and nothing had me thinking it was delicious. They do have lots of options though so that’s good? Should’ve ordered the beef noodle soup but I just wasn’t in the mood. Maybe another time. Oh and the service wasn’t great either. Not the most helpful for first time eaters and I hate waiting for my water to be filled.

The steam dumplings are excellent. I used to have to fly to New York for this kind of food. The beef noodle soup is also great. My husband likes the pancakes while our son likes the beef rice noodles stir fry. Top of the fact that the dishes are nicely flavor, they are also not salty at all. This is obviously our favorite restaurant in town. There are two things about the services, they are understaffed. Expect no service then you would be fine with it. Also, if you call for a Togo order, the staff does not seem to know their menu well. It will make your life easier if you know the code to each items, the online version has no code, and the staff does not understand well the name of their dishes in English. The four star is because of these services factors.

This dumpling place opened not too long ago and it’s tucked inside the northwest corner of Parker and 75 near Bavarian grill. To be honest, i think 75% of the cars in the lot belong to customers at Dumpling House. When you arrive make sure you write your name on the clipboard because there’s probably a wait. Or at least every time that I’ve went which was a weekend lunch. Approx 20 – 40 min wait. It’s a decent sized place. More well put together than Noodle House and cleaner. The first time I went our food all came out within 20 minutes after ordering which was super fast being that the place was full. It was all super yummy. Buns and dumplings are offered in both steamed and fried being that fried is a dollar more(which seems stupid to me; guess it pays for the oil) Appetizer: Fried Squid — just the right amount of seasoning and the batter wasn’t too thick. Entrée: Goubuli bun(steamed) they can’t do the fried version yet. They’re sized pretty well and oh so delicious stuffed with meat and veggies Chicken and mushroom dumplings(fried) which were divine! They’re fresh and hot and a good size. They’re juicy inside, so it’s almost like the small juicy dumplings, which they don’t have. You can make your own sauce using some vinegar, soy sauce, and chili sauce. Green onion pancake: soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. You can dip this in that sauce mentioned above as well. Beef tendon noodle soup: good for a cold day. The soup base is on fleek. Plentiful amount of noodles and beef. You can also share this bowl as well, so that way you can try all of the other stuff. Some little quirks like any new restaurant, but not bad enough to keep me away! It’ll be a while before I go back to noodle house.

Service(** out of *****); Servers were confused and I had to ask twice for everything because they forgot to get what I asked for the first time. Forgot my spoon, forgot my bill, and took forever to bring the stuff that they didn’t forget. Food(**** ouf of *****); 2nd best dumplings in Dallas behind Royal China and best beef pancakes outside of Asia. The noodles were too salty. The green onion pancakes were too thick but was O.K., just not great. Décor(*** out of *****); standard Chinese restaurant with tables and chairs. Nothing special. Conclusion(*** out of *****); Very good beef pancakes. I would return just for that. You have to eat the pancakes with a spoon underneath so you could capture the hot soup gushing out of them. Careful! It’s HOT. Yum! Good dumplings. The wrapping is a little bit thicker than Royal China, though. However, they are still very good and gushing with soup from the inside of the dumplings. If you like dumplings and beef pancakes, then you have try Dumpling House. Just be sure to come early as the service is inconsistent, especially if they are busy. Dishes are moderately priced at just under $ 10. It’s not expensive at all considering the dishes are very meaty and very labor intensive to make.

Great improvement since the last time I was here. My boyfriend and I were greeted right when we stepped in. They quickly took our order when we were ready, and food came out less than 10 minutes after. We had the the pork & chive dumplings, szechuan noodle(Dan Dan noodle), and hot & spicy beef tendon noodle. I automatically fell in love with their tendon. It was cooked, not chewy like other places. Their dumplings were juicy and not dry. My boyfriend also love their szechuan noodle, it was his second time ordering it. I can’t remember if their menu state that it’s spicy or not, but their noodle was pretty spicy, from their peanut sauce. The restaurant also follows the concept of reading orders through an app from the iPhone, to illuminate errors and decrease time. The service have improved dramatically, food was good. I will come back for them tendons.
