Excellent homestyle breakfast and service! I had a late breakfast on January 9th and was not expecting the food and service to be so good. Robin took care of me, and from the moment she took my order, I received excellent service. I ordered over easy eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and everything was perfect. The biscuits were hot and fresh, the sausage gravy was just right, and the bacon, well, it was real bacon cooked to perfection, and it was not served swimming in grease. I am moving away from Plano, and I am only disappointed I didn’t find out about this wonderful homestyle diner sooner. Everyone was so friendly. I felt as if i was having breakfast with my family. Lovely place.

Great place for breakfast. Omelette and hash browns are the best! The waitresses are always happy!

I’ve been trying to eat here for a while but every time I come there is always a long wait, which I take a good sign. I was able to get a table today and the service was great. The menu had just about anything you could want(lots of specials) but only certain items are offered on certain days. I ordered fried pork chops, corn and mashed potatoes. The meal itself was good and the service attentive. The only disappointing feature was that the pork chops weren’t center cut, so there were random bones throughout and they were more fat than muscle — they tasted good though. Another side note, whomever decorated this place LOVES Elvis. Every table had Elvis pictures and magazine articles on it. If you don’t like Elvis, sorry.

Foods good service is pathetic. Mama had one to many daughters I think. They’re a day late and a dollar short. I would never give these people another dollar even if they where on the pole dancing for it.

Very good! Had the chicken fried steak and it was very filling! I couldn’t even finish my plate… It was really packed, but good service, good atmosphere and yummy mac n cheese!!! Mashed potatoes and green beans were fantastic as well!

Excellent food, we had a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed the food and we will all return. Chicken friend steak and gravy was amazing. Homemade ranch dressing was so good. On the burger and fries besure to order spicy fries. They are not spicy but have really good seasoning. We enjoyed the diner atmosphere and all the funny signs. Next time we will have to save room for desserts.

We have gone to Mother Daughters diner since it opened. We have always had great service and great meals every time whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. Some times we have had our grandmother with us that had a wheelchair, the staff was always helpful in setting issues etc. We have eaten at all there locations and had great service at all of them. Please keep up the good work guys and gals.

Delightful! We came in after the lunch crowd on a weekday and enjoyed friendly and speedy service. I had the chicken fried chicken lunch special with the most delicious cabbage and a very fresh green salad. My husband had the chicken fried steak breakfast with the crispest hash browns ever! Grits could have used a little more salt while cooking, as it’s difficult to season them well after. Good food and nice people. Fun, 50’s style décor makes this place even better!

This is a good place to take dads who love diners and home cookin’…so my dad is a prime candidate. I had a groupon so even better! My dad and I went on a Sunday for lunch – he got the chicken fried steak and I got the meatloaf with an assortment of sides. The good: the service! Also the rolls, cornbread, hot chocolate, fried okra, mashed potatoes, apple cobbler. The meh: onion rings, mac n’ cheese, green beans, cole slaw, turnip greens, meatloaf, and chicken fried steak. I had previously been to the Royal location and remember having a great meal, but this one was just ok. The waitress was really great though and I’d probably be happy to come back and try something different.

Mama’s Daughter’s is quintessential, old school, american diner food. This is greasy, messy, and simple — and when I’m in the mood for that, this is where I want to come for breakfast. I had the«Mama’s Favorite Breakfast» which comes with 2 eggs(any style), hashbrowns, biscuits & gravy, and bacon. It sounds like a heart attack, because it is. I ordered my eggs over medium, and they came out a little harder than I like, but were still good. Their hashbrowns are –perfect-, crunchy on the edges and still potato deliciousness on the inside. The bacon was pretty good, I’m just not a huge fan of how greasy bacon –always– is. But their biscuits and gravy are DELICIOUS. I highly recommend them. My kiddo ordered a pancake, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The pancake arrived in the shape of mickey mouse(ears and all) and she was delighted. Loved the bacon too! Toddler approved. I appreciated how patient our waitress was as I had to eat in between keeping my daughter from throwing pancake at other patrons. She even made me a to-go coffee and helped me gather stuff together before I went to pay at the front. Great staff, great diner food, worth a stop!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. If you are looking for a small town type diner with a variety of choices this place would be it. I come here weekly and get the ham and cheese omlette. They have nice thick bacon. Much better bacon than the scrawny little pieces at Ihop or Dennys. On occasion I eat here for lunch. Meatloaf, chicken & dumplings, chicken fried steak etc are staples. They have some different daily specials they rotate out each day. Apple pie does resemble my grandmothers with the sweet crumbles on top. My only 2 complaints are that they surprisingly don’t have soup and they close at 3pm on Sunday. Ignore the reviews blasting this place because their coffee cup was filled 1 millimeter lower than they expected(sarcasm). It isn’t 3 Forks but it is damn good comfort food.

Great experience this evening! Food was excellent! Service by Pam was outstanding! Really made us feel«at home.» The Mac and cheese was to die for! Pam even had the restaurant sing to our 12 year old daughter! Will return time and time again!

Our first time here, we purchased a Groupon for this place and thought«Why not?» We had the Friday Specials, the catfish for my husband and the chicken and dressing for me. Our opinions were about the same. We felt the food was bland and tasteless. No amount of cocktail sauce for the fish, or salt/pepper for the chicken and dressing seemed to help. The overall feel of this place is rundown and dirty. We came, we tried and it’s highly unlikely that we will be back.

My husband, son and I used to come here all the time. So much that we bought a «Mama’s Daughter Diner» mug. Convenient location and low key. It’s a nice diner feel and the food was always decent. The last few weeks we have been coming, it has been terrible. Service is soooo slow. We always go around 8am on Saturday mornings before the crowds. No reason it should take 30 minutes to get our food. The hostess/cashier is 100% grumpy all the time. I don’t think she knows how to smile(which is key to being a hostess right?). If she is so miserable at her job she should quit or suck it up because she really kills the friendly diner vibe at the beginning and end of your meal. If management is reading this, it is the woman who works Saturday AM with short dirty blond hair). Most of our servers have been polite and friendly. Also, the food has never been dynamite but typical diner food. Recently the waffles have been under cooked(on our last three visits). Coffee is great. Unfortunately there are enough competing breakfast spots with better, faster and friendlier service… And better waffles. We won’t be going back for a while.

I have been wanting to try this place for the longest time. Norma’s Café has taken over my life … don’t judge me. Anyway, my coworkers decided to place an order for lunch in which I ordered one of the $ 9.49 lunch specials. I ordered fried chicken, corn, Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, and a roll. Once opening the box I was disappointed. The meat portion is so tiny, and there was no seasoning at all. It tasted like nothing. The corn was bland, the potatoes we’re ok but I didn’t care for the chunky gravy. The mac n cheese and roll we’re the best things. I tried y’all but my heart is just torn, I wanted to like it so bad. :/:/I don’t think I’ll be back. My coworkers had chicken fried steak and chicken with various sides and liked their selctions. So maybe try one of those or bring seasoning ?? Good luck guys

Breakfast breakfast breakfast. What do you order here? Breakfast any time of day. Been eating at Mama’s since 1987. Curing hangovers as a young working adult here in Dallas 28 years ago with what? Mamas breakfast of course!

Recommended for lunch break by Nurse at HeartFirst during my testing. Great food and breakfast served all day. Staff friendly and food portions are generous. Definitely worth a repeat visit. I hear the pie is outrageous. Too full to try this time around. To quote Arnold. I’ll be back.

Good southern homestyle cooking. Not the best, but decent enough. A lot of older folks love it here from what I saw. Very crowded for Sunday lunchtime – although we only had a 10 minute wait. I had the roast beef w/mashed potatoes & gravy, mac & cheese, and spicy fries(~$ 8). Good portions. Spicy fries were not spicy at all. Mac & cheese was ok, but watery. My sister had the chicken fried steak combo that came with 2 chicken fried steaks and 2 sides(~$ 10). It was okay too. I did like their corn bread & whipped butter. Service was good enough. Décor was a nice diner-style with modern a LED touch. Cute giant-sized teapot flowerplants! Food was okay, but I would have to say I’ve had better.
