Two Sales associates helped me today. The first on was OK. The second one was rude and ignoring most of my questions. Store should train the associates to handle customers with respect.

Even though the hours of operation on their website and on Unilocal claim they open at 9:00 am they have taped over the hours they have listed on their door at the store front to change them. They do not open until 9:30. If you arrive before then and attempt to enter the associates will look at you and go back to work. This is frustrating because I only came to Payless specifically because I was under the impression they opened at nine am, as listed on their website, and on this particular stores google maps search.

Why can I not find any men’s black sneakers in 10 ½W? I tried two stores and both had the same awful shoes. I was in a rush and needed something«now». Sorry, but some stuff is just awful.

Nice store. Friendly associates. Came in to buy wool tights for the winter, but they only had footless. Who wears those? I ended up buying regular stockings and a pair of owl earrings. The store was well-kept, and the associate kept asking me if I needed help. I never returned or exchanged anything here; but I’ve heard their policy is brutal. They never want you to return, only exchange. I’ll probably return to see if they’ve restocked their tights.

I stopped by here the other day to return a pair of boots that I had bought online. The sales associate asked me why I was returning them and I told her it was the fit(too big in the calves). She proceeded to chastise me for not trying them on in-store and told me I need to do it that way in the future because online returns«lose the store money» [sic]. So do rude sales associates, but I digress… She also carried on a phone conversation in Spanish the entire time she was«helping» me. Before finalizing the return, she asked for my email address, which I thought had to do with the return process. Almost immediately after leaving the store, I received an email from Payless welcoming me to their email list. She had signed me up for spam without even asking me. It’s unfortunate because they have a wide selection of non-leather/vegetarian-friendly shoes and I would have done a lot of shopping there.
