It’s like I’ve never had sushi before. SO tasty! Heidi our waitress was very hospitable and helpful making selections.

Have you ever eaten a maki(sushi roll) and thought to yourself, «boy, I wish they would give me less of the good stuff and more rice!» Me neither. I hate when I have to downgrade a review, but integrity trumps warm fuzzies, so here we go. I am posting a picture that pretty much is the entire argument for this change, but I will explain it here as well. I went there this weekend for their all-you-can-eat and found they have cut out about 50% of the heart of the maki and replaced it with rice. I am not kidding. You look at the cross-section and it’s like a very sad cheapskate yin and yang. I can appreciate that their price point may be bringing people in and they may have made the business decision that giving people half as much of the«meat» in their maki is the way to go, but it is not for me. I struggled to finish what I ordered because it was so jam-packed with rice. Very disappointing. I hope it gets better some day, but I don’t think I will be going back to find out.

Tried the all you can eat. Was disappointed but no surprise. For what you pay you are getting quantity over quality.

You can’t beat $ 10 all you can eat! One of our favorite inexpensive sushi places! The food is very good and they include more than sushi in their all you can eat. The place is clean and the staff is very attentive! Been there a few times and have always left full and satisfied.

I consider myself quite a sushi enthusiast. After trying a lot of spots over Dallas, this is the one I keep coming back to The food is fresh, the servers are all so nice And their menu is pretty great too I come here at least 4 – 5 times a month Fried rolls are what I would consider their speciality Wildcat roll is my personal favorite

I don’t like it. I ordered 3 rolls. Terrible. I will never come back again. I recommend people don’t go this sushi bar.

Had a sushi craving on a Sunday evening and the go-to spot by my house is now closed on Sundays as is another nearby so I was left with Sushi Shack. Mixed Unilocal reviews, but I took a chance and called in a to-go order: Ahi Tuna Tower, Rainbow Roll, and miso soup. Slight sticker shock at the $ 30 total. Got home and was very disappointed to find the soup that cost $ 1.95 was a mere 3.5 oz! It came in the same size Styrofoam container commonly used for sweet & sour sauce or cole slaw. Total ripoff. The Ahi Tower was entirely forgettable and the Rainbow rolls were sliced too thick and topped with a hodge-podge of small bits of fish(rather than decent sized slices) that kept falling off as I tried to eat it. Maybe the appeal of this place and good reviews are a result of the AYCE option, but I won’t be returning to find out.

Salad is fresh, clean. Food is great! BUT, they charge 60 cents/roll if u don’t eat them all. This’s not that reasonable.

Horrible service. Screaming everywhere. Felt like bugs were biting me in there. 20 minutes and still waiting on food. Rude, slow and this is not clean and a whip Never goodbye. Left before food got there it took to long That’s enough

Here is a haiku about sushi Shack *begin haiku* Sushi Shack is whack I know that I would come back All you can eat sushi *end haiku* You could even say it’s a Sushi Attack. The portion sizes are TOOBIG. The selection of sushi rolls is too extensive. Did I mention they also have fried rice, tempura, and soup too? Despicable. And they have a all you can eat salad bar too, and a Bulgogi roll. If you like sushi, and have some friends that do the same, you should come to this place. Plus if you don’t eat your rolls, I think you get ¢60 back on your bill

This place is my family’s go-to place for sushi. Large fountain drinks and delicious sushi! The fried rolls always come out hot and flavorful. I love this place’s Louisiana roll, Spider roll and Alaskan roll. Today, I’ve tried some of their kitchen menu foods. I was kind of disappointed because the kitchen foods lacked flavor. Not only that but some of them were over cooked or under seasoned. Very different from their sushi menu. My family ordered the Alaskan rolls, Spider rolls, Crab Tempura rolls, and the Lousiana rolls. All delicious. When the kids finished the sushi, one of my family members decided to order the combination fried rice, fried calamari, and teriyaki chicken. The fried rice was really greasy, the calamari batter was crispy but lacks seasoning(a little salt would have made the dish much better), and the teriyaki chicken had great flavor, however it was dry. Overall, sushi menu all the way. Kitchen menu… Maybe it was a bad day… It was New Year Eve and the place was packed. Forgot to mention, they have great customer service!

For my birthday tonight we ordered 4 types of specialty rolls. So we did rainbow roll, spicy tuna, caterpillar and crunch roll. All were fresh and delicious. We also ordered fried rice and some noodles w chicken as well. My husband picked this food up on his way home from work and brought it home. All the food was in a beautiful arrangement on a platter, making it look even more amazing. It tasted fresh and we all enjoyed it! I am picky with my sushi but I will be back to this spot. Yum!

This is probably my favorite sushi place. The food is FANTASTIC. In fact, it’s so good I can’t bring myself to try any new sushi restaurants in the area. My favorite rolls are the Hawaiian and Wasabi rolls which are always on point. The best part is that they deliver too, which means there’s always a possibility for awesome sushi even without leaving the house. I have heard that the all-you-can-eat lunch isn’t that great. I’ve only ever eaten there in the evenings, so I can’t speak to that aspect of the restaurant.

Your money is seriously better spent somewhere else. The quality of sushi here is really not that great, even for the price you pay. All of the sushi is loaded with so much rice you’re pretty much just eating rice with a tiny bit of fish. Their eel sauce had the consistency of jelly… I had to taste it twice to make sure it was right. They charge $ 0.60 per piece you leave on the plate! Very strict about that policy. I took apart a bunch of my sushi because the rice was just too much to eat and they charged me for that. I would recommend going to a different AYCE sushi place.

First time here ! Food is ok. And they trick you on all you can eat that you need to pay extra $ 1 per piece on sushi and sashimi you order. And plus the service is horrible. Super slow and the waitress is not understand english that good. I WOULDNOT recommend this place I think there is so many good quality and good service on all you can eat !! DON’T waste your time and your money here !!!

This is among of the best all you can eat, fresh made PER order, sushi buffet restaurants I have been to. My favorite thing about this restaurant is the fact that they make the orders you put in fresh every time so you don’t have rolls sitting out somewhere waiting for someone like a regular buffet. The rolls you get are fairly priced. They are loaded with rice but you do get a fair amount of ingredients for the lunch and dinner buffet. Most do NOT need soy sauce. You get way more variety for the dinner and most of the rolls are definitely worth it. The lunch special has some amazing rolls too! Just remember that they charge for each individual piece you leave on the plate when you are done. It’s fair for the price you pay. Just order what you know you can eat and order more if you are not yet full! Plus you know it’s made fresh for you when you order it! The wait staff are friendly since we’ve been coming here about 2 years ago. it’s definitely a place to go if you love sushi rolls on a budget!

Just left a Google Review on this place and saw its Unilocal reviews were much lower than I think they should be, so I thought I’d give my two cents on Unilocal. Really, this place is a 4.5÷5. This review is exclusively for their AYCE sushi a-la-carte $ 11. Their menu for the lunch is not super limiting– they still have all the staples and a few extra ones that are fried. For the price, it’s fantastic. You can order three times, but you won’t need all three. They charge 60 cents per left over sushi, so don’t have any left overs. They also charge for things like extra sauce(spicy mayo, is what I’ve ordered in the past). I don’t know where else in the Dallas area where you can get all you can eat sushi as fresh(a-la-carte, not buffet) for such a low price. The amount of rice to fish is comparable to non-AYCE sushi places. You’re getting a deal here.

Was expecting to pay around 14.99 for the lunch combo, but after a certain time it turns into the 19.99 dinner price, which is okay. The restaurant requires you to pay 60cents for every piece of food you don’t eat, which I suppose is good until you realize how much you ordered and planning your food funeral. Service was great and they always kept my water full!

Whenever coming here, I always do the AYCE lunch special. $ 10 for each person sounds like a great deal. The place is pretty small and cramp. I feel like anyone can overhear your conversation because the tables are so close. The first couple of times had been great, no complaints, everything tasted great. Every dish that I ordered has the fried california rolls with it. I like having something hot to eat along with the other cold rolls. Plus it adds color to your plate if there’s no sauce on any of then. However the last time I came, the rolls were somewhat dry. There was too much rice and not enough of the actual filling. Hopefully it won’t happen again. Also I do noticed that the first time there they served free salad and miso soup directly to your table. However it seems like they’re no longer doing that. Either its not with the lunch deal or I’m remembering wrong. One thing to know about the AYCE is that for every piece that you leave unfinished you have to pay .60 cents. Better make sure that you finish everything!
