Please do not go to this Restraunt. It is my family’s favorite in all of Dallas. The staff is always polite even when slammed. The hand rolls are enormous. More food than you should eat. The tuna tower is enough to feed a small family for a week!

Love this sushi bar! But watch out, the portions are enormous and it’s very easy to over order. The caviar rice bowl is quite yummy as is the hamachi Kama!

Loved loved loved — this is better then most Sushi Omakase — nice selection of fish, $ 50 and worth every penny

This place is slowly slipping away from what it used to be. Still a wait to get in, but not sure it’s worth it. It’s gone from well above average to tetering on sub-mediocre. It may already be there, but nostalgia is quite possibly clouding my judgement. Hmmmm, another one bites the dust Wow…edit. 45 minutes after ordering, I asked for the Miso soup we ordered… 1 hour after ordering, I notice people seated ½ an hour after us are done with their rolls… 1 hr and 10 minutes… tower. 1 hour and 15 minutes, our roll. Just went from clinging on to 3 stars, and plummeted to –1… IOW, not returning here again :-(

Came in here around 5:30PM on a Friday and ordered Red Mountain, Popcorn Lobster, Jay’s Favourite and the Dynamite roll. Food: It was okay. It’s Americanized sushi, so there was a lot of sauce on the rolls. Really big portions for the price though. HOWEVER, what bothered my boyfriend was that the Dynamite roll was supposed baked, but it wasn’t baked! The roll itself was cold and topped with warm scallops/lobster that was a bit bland. Service: ITWASSLOW! It took forever for us to order /get the check. In addition, we noticed a line at the door around 6:30PM, but no one was getting seated when there was ATLEAST3 – 4 empty tables.

The ahi tuna tower was very good! A lot of crab and rice so it’s best to be shared between people. All of the sushi rolls and very big and stuffed with a lot of crab in it. It does not hold its shape when you pick it up, it will fall apart right when you pick it up. Overall the food was just okay. Definitely not worth the drive from Fort Worth.

Densetsu is my favorite sushi place in the Greater Dallas area that I have tried. This place gets busy at night, so go early or you may have to wait awhile. Lively atmosphere inside and not too big of a restaurant. They serve a large variety of rolls that all come dressed up on the plates with unique flavor profiles, but all taste great and are of pretty good quality(though it’s Texas and fish has to come from far away!). Densetsu also has my favorite sushi towers that I’ve ever had, so it’s always fun to get one of them. Eh, call me easily amused. I know some people love their sushi burrito roll as well. I’ve never had their cooked items. If you eat with a partner, you could probably just share 2 rolls, as their sushi rolls are all huge. And I promise, I can put down a lot of sushi.

It was my second time dining here and my most recent visit was yesterday dinner(Sunday). As soon as we got to the restaurant, it was packed but we only had a wait about 10 minutes. The host made sure everything went smoothly and tried to seat us as soon as possible while updating us occasionally. Customer service was excellent, but what was even better was the food! This place is probably the best sushi I’ve had in Dallas.

Don’t let the size of the rolls fool you. I had the red mountain roll, each piece was so big that I had to divide it up. However, the roll consisted mainly imitation crab meat and rice. There was only a thin slice of salmon wrapped around the roll. I also had the salmon tower, which also mainly consisted of dry rice and crap meat. The portion was so big, my boyfriend and I couldn’t even finish the tower. I felt super full and sick after finishing the roll. We also had the hana flavored sake in raspberry and apple, both were fantastic and highly recommended.

Great bang for your buck for great quality sushi and large portion sizes. I have been here too many times to count since the sushi is so addicting. I usually get the volcano roll, but this time I switched it up to Jay’s favorite roll and I did not regret it! Jays favorite roll has the base of a spicy tuna roll, but is topped with CHUNKS of salmon, avocado, and tomatoes. If you love salmon, this is a great way to eat chunks of it! Also had a spicy kick to it, which I love. Every specialty roll will set you back about $ 15, but it is totally worth it!

Wow… I still remember when Densetsu first opened… it was a time before I started Unilocaling and before it became so popular! Good for them because Densetsu really deserves it! There are so many reviews you can read through so I will keep this sweet and short. Densetsu probably has the best sushi around the Dallas/Plano area. Each roll/dish is around 12 – 15 dollars, except for the sashimi, which can range from 20 – 100 dollars depending on how much you get. This is a great deal especially since the portions are very generous(you’d be surprised on how fast you get full) — I would say 3 rolls is more than enough to feed 2 people(of normal appetite). Sushi wise, I highly recommend the Dynamite Roll, which is 1) an absolute beauty to look at, and 2) tastes supreme. It contains bits of fried shrimp sprinkled on top that goes perfectly with the sushi, giving it a slight crunch. I would also recommend the Angry John, which is the most traditional sushi dish we ordered. It contains sushi made from 3 or 4 different fishes and all of them are very quality. The volcano roll is a good choice for those who love meat. It has a strong flavor(which tastes great, almost teriyaki-ish) and texture, which I liked. The small meat-ball on top may be a bit too much(imo), but still a great dish. My father ordered a plate of sashimi for $ 50, which came with 24 pieces of fish(i believe the dish contained 2 pieces of shrimp and octopus each, and 4 pieces of the other 5 fishes). To be honest, I don’t think this is worth it since I’m more into sushi than sashimi. From what I tasted, the sashimi here is pretty good quality(good size, very firm, very fresh), so if you are a huge sashimi fan, maybe try out the lower priced dish first? Densetus is great. It can be crowded(but just cuz it’s very popular… and for good reasons!), especially on a weekend evening, but totes worth the experience. 10⁄10 would recommend! :)

Your typical Japanese food that you know is super Americanized but you still can’t resist! FOOD: My family and I shared the sashimi platter($ 50 for 24pcs), Angry John roll($ 15 for 8pcs), Dynamite roll($ 16 for 8 pcs), Volcano roll($ 16 for 8 pieces), and the unagi don($ 16). I didn’t have high expectations for the rolls but I WASBLOWNAWAY by how delicious they were. My favorite of the bunch was the VOLCANOROLL. It was topped with marinated shrimp, octopus, and onion pieces, and if you sweet dishes, then you will LOVETHISROLL. To be honest, everything taste pretty Americanized — like what Panda Express did with the Chinese food. The sauce, toppings… just everything they did with the sushi rolls, are NOT authentic Japanese food, but hey, who cares if they taste good right?! The sashimi platter was pretty good, but just really expensive… SERVICE: We came here on NYE and it was packed. We had to wait 20min to be seated but the food was served pretty quickly, with 5 – 10 minutes between each dish. PRICE: Each dish was $ 15 – 16, which is pretty standard for Japanese food. Also the portions of the sushi rolls were HUGE, after they dumped so much topping and sauce onto those things, so we had some trouble finishing everything. The most expensive dish was the $ 50 sashimi platter. SETTING: Too crowded… they should look into expanding the restaurant. There was a sign that says max. occupancy is 44 and there were definitely more than 60 people… I didn’t like how close the tables were next to each other, and there wasn’t really a waiting area for you to wait. There is also a bar but there is also very small wiggle room. OVERALLIMPRESSION: Pretty fancy place for lunch or dinner! The flavors are nice but the food is not something I would have everyday.

Fresh fish, good portions and typically quick service. This is one of my top places to eat at. The place is a bit small, so sit at the bar if you are solo or one up. I love that they yell hello/welcome and bye in Japanese. It’s not a fancy place, but not a hole in the wall. You won’t be disappointed.

Came here to catch up with some high school friends during winter break. Pretty good salmon sashimi but their miso ramen was terrible — did not even taste like ramen. The meat in it was not even chashu. The whole dish was off. I also ordered their Lion King roll which has always been one of my favorites at any sushi establishment. It was huge but too much meat that the roll didn’t really stay together. Very tasty though :) The service is incredibly slow. It took us 30 min to get someone’s attention to order food, and another 20 min to ask for our check 2 – 3 times. They are just really busy I guess. This place is expensive though for just ok food and really slow service. Really large(Texas sized) portion sizes. I would probably check out a different sushi place.

Small quaint restaurant. Great décor. Beautiful ambience. The staffs are friendly and service is on par. Felt like I was in Japanese restaurant in Japan! Shared a salmon tower roll, caterpillar roll, and a popcorn lobster roll. All large and very delicious sushi! So far the popcorn lobster roll is a one hit wonder for me. Definitely will be back!

Great place for lunch. The bento box and sushi options are amazing. They also have a full service bar. Highly recommended! Desert options include many Japanese delicacies as well. Parking is easy and location is easily accessible.

Overall: Texas-sized sushi for Texas-sized appetites. Also, the chefs, waiters, and waitresses will warmly greet you Food: All salmon donburi with salad and miso soup. The portions are extremely generous and fish is fresh. The salad comes with miso ginger dressing, which is tasty. The miso soup is solid. — I came here twice in a week, even though it’s like a 20-minute drive from my hotel. Upon walking in, I was greeted by waitresses shouting at me in Japanese, just like how it is in Japan. I got take out both times but the interior was pretty appealing. But wow, the food. For a Texas suburb, no for any suburb, this place is amazing. There’s probably a whole salmon fish in there. The portion also comes with a bunch of rice, avocados, some shrimp, some cabbage, veggies, and a ton of sushi rice. If I were to make nigiri out of it, I could probably make like 20 pieces. I would come back to Texas just to eat this.

The rolls are HUGE! Like Chuy’s-burrito HUGE! But seriously though, this is definitely the best sushi joint in Plano, if not the whole Lone Star State! The food is consistently delicious, the staff are prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere is casual and well appointed. Really, if you’re truly a sushi aficionado, and you dine here and don’t love it, you’re the one having a bad day, not them. One house special roll is more than enough to satisfy two really hungry adults, and if you’re still hungry after that, well, you know how it works at a sushi joint!

If you are looking for good Japanese food, you need to come try this place out! My friend and I had a small cold so we thought udon noodle soup sounded wonderful, and it definitely hit the spot that day! We ordered the superman burrito as an appetizer which was a sushi roll in a burrito styled hand roll wrapped in soy paper. It was huge and a lot of rice, but the fish was fresh and you get two dipping sauces with it that were full of flavor. I got the tempura udon noodle soup and my friend got the stone pot udon noodle soup. When our food came out people kept asking us what we ordered cause it smelt so good! Both were full of flavor and really delicious. An extra plus is that they give you tons of food for the price, I couldn’t even finish the portion.

They have 651 reviews and today was my first time to check this place out!!! Insane. I came at a peak hour, Saturday at 1:00 p.m., had to sit at the sushi bar, which is fine with me. I love sitting at the sushi bar. You get to ask the chef questions. The place is small, casual atmosphere, and loud mainstream music can be heard from a speaker near the entrance. I rate Densetsu 5 stars for service. They were very busy. However, from the moment I walked in, I was greeted and received constant attention throughout my meal(I limited my questions to just 2). The camaraderie in this restaurant is unbelievable. Everyone worked well together. I couldn’t help but to stare … and stare in disbelief. There were 5 sushi chefs and maybe five servers along with a female hostess. No matter how busy the sushi chefs were, if a server came up to the bar to retrieve a plate, the chef would stop what he’s doing and pick up the plates from the bar and hand it to the server(female and male, they did not discriminate). It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I can’t really rate the food as I did not order enough to make an informed judgement. I had ordered the edamame and the tofu salad for me. Both were generously portioned. Taste was fine. I ordered teriyaki chicken from the children’s menu for my daughter and it was served in a super cute pink bento box. Also huge portion. Lovely presentation. Chicken breast was a little dry. Sauce a little sweet. But I’m biased. I’m not a fan of sweet sauces. I wanted to order some rolls and sashimi because every dish that passed by me looked so delish. However, I knew I wouldn’t be able to eat anymore than what I had already ordered. I ended up not even finishing my tofu salad and had to take my edamame togo. I gotta rave about service again. A server asked if I needed a bag to put my togo boxes in. I said no and stepped out into the patio for a quick peek. When I returned to the bar, my togo food was placed in a bag, neatly tied waiting there for me. Sweet :) My only complaint is that their red wine is overpriced. $ 12.00 for a glass of Kendall Jackson cab, which I had to order. I usually don’t order KJ. It was that or the next up, Robert Mondavi, for $ 16.00. They had two other low-end selections, Oak Vineyard $ 5.00 and Woodbridge for $ 6.00 a glass, which I would never drink. In spite of that, I’m still coming back. Next time I’ll have to bring a grown-up with me to help sample the rolls and sashimi.
