Every time I come here I have a delicious burger and fries. So I’m a fan. Love the fact they have unique combs and you Can pick other exotic meats if you want to be adventurous. I usually just order the beef myself :-) love love love the different sauce they have to offer and all the pickled items. I also like their bloody Marys.

Located in the shops at Legacy off the tollway parking is very easy there’s free parking garage the restaurant the décor and setup is very cool they have a full-service bar. I haven’t tried the exotic meats, bison or buffalo, etc. i have only tried the beef burgers they’re delicious. I ordered the Kevin Bacon comes obviously with bacon and blue cheese. A side of fries is extra and you can do crazy stuff like w cheese and bacon etc. they have a wide variety of pickles spicy, etc. they also have at each table mustard, katcup, and barbecue sauce that I guess are made in hous. After placing your order they give you a clever names they call when your food is ready mine was Seymour skinner The staff was very helpful courteous and explain the menu options I highly recommend checking the place out, the patio is great and also have some items that don’t contain meet so if anybody in your party doesn’t eat meat. Kids items on the menu as well

Pros: Best burgers in Plano. Period. Shakes are also very good. Friendly and competent service. Cons: It’s noisy. Cheese fries are nothing to brag about. Note: Because of its location, recommend parking in the garage behind the place next to the cemetery(not joking, there’s an old cemetery behind it). Recommendation: If you get a chance, visit their Waco location. It’s five-star IMHO.

I keep forgetting to review this place despite me going quite a few times now. The environment has such a fun chill environment all the way from the décor to their pop culture reference call out names its defiantly a place to just come and chill with friends and enjoy a good burger. Pros: Good size, nice flavor, fun atmosphere Cons: Long wait times(but can’t rush quality), a tiny bit more pricey than other gourmet burger places.

I have been meaning to check out Twisted Root Burger for months, and I finally had a chance today for lunch. It was pretty amazing! I loved the atmosphere, and the food was really good. I had a Ranch Hand burger on a wheat bun with fries. The burger was a good size, juicy, and pretty flavorful. The fries were decent. I wish they had sweet potato fries. It took longer than I expected for my food, but other than that, it was a good experience.

One of my favorite burger places to eat at. I got the big Tex and it was full of hearty goodness. There is one downside to this Twisted Root location… no bottled beers near the register! There is a fully stocked bar and all but why can’t I just pick one up and go? Nonetheless, great food and it’s always nice to be called T-Pain.

Twisted Root is awesome! The burgers are great, and the atmosphere is so fun and quirky. This location in particular is my favorite because of the surrounding shopping options at the Shops at Legacy. I had the«Freshman Fifteen» which was SO delicious! I also had the sweet potato chips to accompany my burger and they were also very good. The staff is always friendly and welcoming when we come in! Also, the disco bathroom is a plus!

I found Twisted Root for the first time a few months ago, when I moved to Plano. I haven’t stopped going since, and probably come by three times a week, at least. When I first walked in, I was drawn to the quirky nature of the décor– permanent marker drawings on the wall(since replaced with an awesome mashup of memorable TV and movie quotes/pics of celebs), a cement bar top with some very wise quotes etched into it, and a screened in kitchen. It’s worth noting that there isn’t table service here– you order inside the kitchen. This isn’t an issue, though, as the bartenders and bussers are always around to find you what you need, and the order counter is always staffed with someone awesome. And, really, you’re likely to have a manger floating around to see if you need anything. Nedra is one who is always on the floor helping out! The real piece of beauty in here, though, is the pickle bar: huge jars of ranch, wasabi, bread & butter, sweet & spicy, dill, and atomic flavors quietly await your first move, each of them silently willing you to choose them for your burger.(As an aside, the sweet & spicy and atomic are by far my favorites.) Speaking of burgers, there’s a pretty great lineup here. The most popular is probably the Spicy Goat, a really fantastic creation smothered in goat cheese, thick cut bacon, and a spicy chipotle sauce. I’ve enjoyed it best when ordered on the buffalo meat. The Root always has turkey, beef, and vegan(black bean/quinoa) patties, but brings in different«exotic» meats. As of this post, they have camel. Yes. Camel. If that’s too exotic, but you’re still looking for something unique, ask someone who works there for a suggestion. I’ve gotten some A+ burgers(including one with Reese’s peanut butter) recommended by the staff and they never fail to be awesome. As someone who has been known to enjoy alcohol on occasion, this bar has always impressed me. First, with the $ 2PBR and Lone Star drafts all day, every day, and later when I started drinking the Twisted Mule draft cocktail. It’s made specifically for the Root, and is one of those drinks that can sneak up on you if you aren’t careful. Other than that, you’ll find the usual draft suspects(Bud Light/Miller Light, Fireman’s 4), a few rotating taps, and a lot of liquor. I don’t venture to that side often, but I know the selection is pretty expansive. Oh, and if you’ve got a group, shoot for the beer tower. 100oz. of PBR or Lone Star for like $ 15. Plus it looks cool. TL;DR — Come here. Enjoy the food, have some cheap beer, and meet the people who work here. It’s a great location, and really fun people run the place.

Having been to three other Twisted Root outposts, I was anxious to try this one, as it’s within walking distance of my office. Layout and service should be familiar to anyone who’s been to a Twisted Root location: order at the counter, get your celebrity/(in)famous person name card, wait for said person to get called, go pick it up. I was McClane. John McClane. :) I picked up my Spicy Goat burger and straight cut fries, and my dining partner and I headed back to our table outside on a nice early autumn day. I quickly honed in on the chipotle ketchup as an awesome dip for the fries(golden brown and delicious, if lacking a bit in crispness). Digging in to the burger, it was a perfect medium as requested, served on a fresh bun, and the goat cheese and bacon were prominently featured. It was a meaty, cheesy delight, and I savored every bite. I’d ask next time for the bacon to be cooked extra crispy, but other than that, it was a well constructed and executed burger.

Great burger, gluten free bun & sweet potato fries. Husband & son loved the regular burger and fries too. They offer a variety of pickles(Ranch is the best!) to munch on while you wait and have a fun atmosphere. If you’re lucky enough to visit on a nice day you can enjoy the patio or sit near the open air front of the restaurant, which is wonderful for people watching. Relaxed and casual, and again, the burgers are terrific. Couldn’t give 5 stars because the service was just okay. They are obviously smart and well-trained, but I would recommend whoever the trainer is to allow your staff to crack a smile now and then. They may be trending towards that sort of «sassy-service-because-we-are-so-awesome» thing, so it may have been what they are going for, but they could have cracked an occasional smile. Burgers typically shouldn’t inspire the whole snob factor element. Confusing set up and be prepared to have a sort of agitated person take your order if you don’t know EXACTLY what you want when you get to the front. Bottom line: Awesome food, great atmosphere, but tone down the attitude a bit and you will likely be even more profitable. It’s cool that you have clever branding, but in 5 years the branding will be old, there will be equally good burger options in town, and people will get tired of the sass. Pickles and burgers are awesome, but best served with a bit of hospitality.

Soooo good! Our burgers were perfectly cooked! Side salad is big enough to share! Fun tasting the pickles at the pickle bar! Loved the combos! Good service and atmosphere! Guys enjoyed the buffalo and I had beef so good I skipped the bun! And the sweet potato chips were great!

To sum it up, this place has overpriced, decent burgers. They’ve got a lot of variety on the menu(game meat burgers are an interesting option, albeit very expensive), but that doesn’t quite compensate for the lackluster food. In my visits to Twisted Root, I’ve tried several menu items, most notably were the kangaroo and bison burgers. While the burgers themselves were decent — just average, greasy burgers — the use of game meats is mostly a novelty for the sake of upping the price of the burger. Not really worth it, in my opinion. For what it’s worth, they had pretty good fries, and the eclectic dipping sauces/pickles were a nice touch. I’m not a huge fan of Twisted Root, and I could definitely recommend better burger places around Plano. If you’re looking to try some unique and exotic game meat burgers, however, Twisted Root is worth checking out.

Most amazing burgers and veggie burgers I’ve had in a long time. They accidently made two goat cheese burgers and gave me the second one for free. Super great service, super clean, and that root beer just hits the spot.

Very cool and casual place for lunch. The burger selection is somewhat unique with menu items and a twisted burger menu. I tried the Big Tex and thought it could have been bigger, but liked the flavor combination.(And I really didn’t need a bigger burger anyway). I can’t wait to come back and try the bar to have an IPA with my next burger.

Twisted Root is funky and unique, which is reflected in the décor, ordering system, and burgers. I had the Big Tex, which was okay, but I felt that there was really just too much going on with the guac, fried onion strings, and chipotle sauce. I appreciate all of those ingredients separately but combined and thrown on a burger, it wasn’t my favorite combination. I had heard a lot of great things about Twisted Root, but at the end of the day, I wasn’t that impressed. Maybe I just prefer a simpler burger!

This location is okay, but honestly, the original is better. I got their custard milkshake in oreo, and it just tasted like vanilla with some soft oreo chunks in it… The rest of my friends had the same issue with their milkshakes… it didn’t taste like the flavor we got, but more like vanilla with some stuff thrown in it. Twisted Root has pretty good food, but I think the more commercialized they become, the less quality control there is… Go the original one if you don’t want to be disappointed.

We showed up with our kid around 5 the day of «Lights at Legacy» and there was a sign on the closed kitchen door saying to order at the bar. The bartender was not interested in helping us and fetched someone to open the kitchen rather than taking our order. By that time, a huge party had walked in after us, and because of the staff’s disorganization, these people *almost* got in front of us, and they would have were it not for my husband’s ninja skills. Bit of a rough start there. You pick your own table after you order. There are high chairs and a limited number of low tables at which to use them. There’s a small patio that would be great in nice weather. I had the Spicy Goat and it was tasty. Topped it with a fried egg for a little extra $. The sauce tasted more bbq-ish than I expected but it wasn’t bad. Good amount of goat cheese. Asked for the egg to be runny but it was mostly hard. Fries were decent. Despite those little things I really enjoyed it. The Twisted Mule cocktail was good and only $ 5. However, my kid’s chicken nuggets were super heavy on the breading(in fact, one«nugget» was just a lump of fried breading with no chicken in it). Boo on the kid’s chicken nuggets. Despite the large number of kids who were there and the presence of high chairs, I wouldn’t call this place very family-friendly(part of me thinks the bartender didn’t want to help us due to our stroller, despite the«order at the bar» sign). If I was childless I’d probably give this place 4 stars for the yummy burger.

Goat Burger was dense like a puck. Lacked flavor. Needed more seasoning. Not worth the 13 bucks for a burger that is thick and bland. Like the other twisted roots, i enjoyed their fun atmosphere and creative ways to call orders for people.

My goodness. How can I write about this disappointment in words that will dissuade you. Let’s get started. 1) Greasy greasy burgers — do you like your burgers dripping in grease? Do you like your buns soggy? Do you like the feeling of your arteries clogging with cholesterol as you eat each bite? If so, I hope you have good health insurance. 2) Do you like paying $ 9 for a mediocre burger and feel cheated because you were expecting to pay $ 5 but couldn’t see the prices? Do you like saying to yourself, «Man I could buy twice the number of burgers and get twice the satisfaction at Five Guys(plus free peanuts) or at In N Out?» If so, you are a financially irresponsible idiot. Those are my gripes. Positives are: 1) Great casual space. Good bar selection. Nice TVs where you can catch a game. 2) THEPICKLES. What a unique concept. Try the Kool-Aid soaked pickles. Kinda funky but I like it. Those are the only redeeming factors of this establishment.
