Yolanda is AMAZING! I came into the salon with an absolutely horrifying combination of copper, gold, blonde, yellow, orange, a DISASTER of an ombré. On top of that, my ends were completely fried; I just looked ridiculous. I showed Yolanda a picture of what I had in mind, a more natural looking brunette balayage, and she did just that. She even got rid of my fried ends, managing to keep my long length. She was extremely patient and understanding– very patient considering I have a VERY full head of thick Indian hair, and she had to reverse the ombré into a balayage(which is not easy). She explained the entire process to me step by step, which I really appreciated– she will make sure she is on the same page as her client so you end up getting exactly what you want! She genuinely cares about client satisfaction. Seriously, Yolanda saved me and I can finally walk around with confidence again! You will not be disappointed.

I have curly hair and always have a hard time finding a stylist who gets it. Michelle at M Evans Salon does a GREAT job every time!!! The highlights she puts in look perfect every time and she is awesome at taming these wild locks. It’s so great knowing I have a talented stylist in the area, who I trust will always make my hair look gorgeous!!!

Tisa did an amazing job on my cut! I recently moved into the area and have not had any luck with getting the style I wanted(I have shorter hair). She knew exactly what to do, was friendly, and checked in with my satisfaction along the way. I have found my neighborhood salon :) Couldn’t be happier!

First time I went… Lauren was totally awesome. Haircut –bangs, long layers, full head of 1 color, wash, blowdry, style. Was extremely happy with her and the whole look. Got tons of compliments. couldn’t stop looking in the mirror. 5 stars for her. Second time. Yolanda. . Wasn’t a good experience for me at all. Ughhh. I’m either asking for Lauren or not coming at all. I asked for was a single color all over. She only did my roots… and the rest of my hair is a totally different color. I had to ask her to please color the rest of my hair. She was grabbing random chunks of hair n slapping on color so all over the place… it was so random. It was touching my ears, neck, face, cheeks, forehead… i t was a dark purple color so I said hey can you please wipe this off, the color is touching my face. After the coloring was done …15 mins after… I asked again can you please wipe this dark purple crap from my skin? Then she takes a dirty rag n scrubs me half to death all over so rough!!! Ahhhhhh then the shampoo n wash… was rough… such sharp nails… Ugh. I was literally hating every moment I just wanted to be done n leave!!! She put a ton of stuff in my hair without asking me or telling me what it was. Yuck. I left with my hair wet then later it is now dry n hard as rocks gross!!! Then I asked if I could use a Unilocal coupon, she said no. that I would have to mention it when I called. what difference would that have made? Asked her how much was the simple full head of color. $ 75 !! That’s crazy, especially since last time Lauren charged $ 65 for the color… and because this experience was so annoying. Blah. 1 star for her.

I just moved to Plantation from Buffalo, NY and with thin destroyed blonde hair, I expected it to be difficult to find someone I trusted with my hair. I am so happy I found M Evans Salon. The salon is only 5 minutes from my new home and clean with a fun looking staff. Lynn«touched up» my blonde roots(which were over 4 inches) without even using bleach. I thought it was take more than 1 treatment to get back to the platinum blonde I love, and feared more destruction from the«need» of bleach to get there, but I was wrong. After the lengthy processing of the high lift blonde, she then used a toner with meticulous checking on its status and did not just leave me to over process or anything. Lynn was very knowledgeable in her craft and I was so grateful for her taking extended time even though it was late to make sure the job was done well, correctly, and with full care. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

I hadn’t had a cut I was really happy with in a long time so I got an appointment with Erica after finding this place on Unilocal and I’ve never looked back. Not only has she been incredibly helpful(giving me something just this close to what I’m bringing in pictures of but different enough that it still suits me and works with my hair) but she’s fun and sweet to boot. I wanted to try something different and funky with my color the last time I went in and Erica went above and beyond to help me get exactly what I was looking for. I’ve gotten tons of compliments on my hair every time I come in so she’s definitely doing something right.

I don’t know what happened to this place, have been going for a year and the service was ok, but the last two times I booked an appointment with Lauren they just cancelled it without notice! The first time that happened I arrived to the salon and they just told me Lauren wasn’t there and my appointment was cancelled, nobody took responsibility and they just told me they didn’t know what happened. I was new to the area so I decided to give the place a second chance, so I booked an appointment and this time I called early the same day of my appointment to confirm it. I spoke with somebody at the front desk and she confirmed the appointment with Lauren. I arrived at the time of my appointment and they told me it shows in the system it was cancelled. Cancelled by who I asked? The woman that was at the front desk was very rude and told me she can’t do anything about it… The worst was that Lauren the hairstylist didn’t even acknowledge me and didn’t say sorry or take responsibility for the error… Really, really rude … I’m not going back again of course !!! Mismanaged and unprofessional place, I advise you to stay away!!!

The staff is very nice, that’s partially why I decided to get my hair done here and secondly I was in a rush. I came here to get an ombré and goodness do I regret it. firstly, the girl that did my hair went extremely high for an ombré, and when I went home to blow dry it, it looked orange and brassy it did not lift completely. I called back and told her the issue and she told me to come back so she can fix it, She made it worse! She went ahead and re-bleached it, when she was done with my hair it was basically one color not the pretty blonde ombré I wanted, it was yellow!!! and it also had some purple and greenish pigments that she said would wash off and they did not!!! I paid 175.00 to get my hair butchered !! I had to go to a hair color specialist to get this mess fixed. my hair was so fried from all the bleach that i had to get 5 inches cut off. im still paying the price for going here. she was nice so I did not want to rat her out to her boss, but I don’t recommended this person that I do not wish to say her name.

Michelle is best at styling hair shes my favorite. Sure everyone is nice but my last visit was terrible. which was 30 min ago… I got a blow out from a guy named Damien. He put no volume in my hair. Long story short I needed 2 stylist for my recent blowout. The guy charged me 30 for 30sec wash 15 min hair drying NOTSTYLINGNOT A BLOWOUT hair drying… all he did was dry my hair flat. Im really upset. Todays hair was for a wedding event im in… I paid 55 for crap. The poor lady who styled me didnt know and she curled my hair like curly sue :(

Two years in Fort Lauderdale and I have struggled to find a place that can 1) listen to what you want and 2) do a PHENOMENAL job… until today. Managed to score a walk-in appointment here today and 30 minutes later, walked out with the best haircut I’ve had since moving to the area. All this for just $ 35? I’m sold.

Went to this salon(thanks to a Groupon) because(like another reviewer mentioned) I do not like paying full price and I had yet to find a hairstylist worth«full price.» That was then… this is now! Damon was listed as a «specialist» in long hair and since mine was all the way down my back he seemed like the guy! The salon is very clean and small, but cozy. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Damon was amazing! Very attentive and focused. He was interested making sure whatever cut we decided on would be the best fit for me(e.g., what I did for a living, how much time I «devoted» to my morning routine, etc). I walked out with one of the best haircuts ever!

I went to Mitch Evans salon on a groupon and was appointed Yolanda as my hair stylist. I have to be very honest, it is VERY rare that I am loyal to a hairdresser, mainly because, I don’t like paying full price for my hair so I would usually go to groupon and jump from hair dresser to hair dresser UNTIL I met Yolanda and she gave me the best hair cut ever! I’ve gone to her 3 times in 6 months. The salon is clean and everyone is friendly.

Yolanda is the best. I looked for a long time for a colorist I liked at other salons. When I finally found Yolanda at M Evans salon, she was the only one who listened to exactly what I wanted and was able to make it a reality. Love her!

I’ve been loyal to Yolanda since 2009 and have followed her through multiple salons. Not only is she an amazing hair stylist, she also makes my monthly visits enjoyable. In the past 5 years, we’ve gone through growing and drastically cutting my hair, coloring and relaxing it dozens of times and laughing hundreds. I recommend everyone to make an appointment with her and let her work her magic.

When I moved here from NY eight years ago, I bounced from salon to salon until I found Yolanda I have been following her whereever she goes since then. It has to be at least five years or more. She gives an awesome blow dry for nonprocessed. curly hair and styles my hair just the way I like it. I’m also very picky and she’s never got impatient with me. She’s also a master hair cutter and colorist. Before I went to her I always colored my own hair but since I found her I’ve never colored my hair again because she knows just how to highlight so that the highlight blends in with the base color. Over the years I’ve seen her style a variety of hair types and they all look amazing. I would highly recommend her. She’s cheerful and personable and you’ll love her and the work she does. She’s an NY transplant like I am. Yolanda you rock! This salon is also an updated, clean salon in a strip mall that you’ll never have to hunt for parking. It’s just north of Whole Foods(Peters Road) off University. The staff is friendly and professional as well.
There’s also a lady at the salon that does nails and she does an amazing job. She did a mani pedi for me once and I keep wanting to have her do another mani/pedi but I’m always arriving at the end of the day. The color stayed on longer than normal and it looked really really nice.

I’ve been going to Damen since 2007 and have followed him from multiple salons. Not only is he an amazing hair stylist but he genuinely wants to make your visit enjoyable. In the past 7 years he has taken me from platinum to silver to bright red and dark brown. I can be a bit indecisive and he always shows me multiple looks that would work well with my skin tone. At one point I had cut my hair short and hated it. Not that he did a bad job I just realized I’m not a short hair kinda gal. Well, he came to the rescue and put in Great Lengths hair extensions and I loved them! What a difference it made in my confidence and really helped me get over the in between hump. The salon itself is very modern and clean. All of the girls that work there are extremely friendly and make you feel comfortable from the second you walk in. Prices are fair and if you are short on time you can leave with out a blow dry and the hair cut is cheaper. I have sent a bunch of friends to Damen and they have all been happy with their styles and color. Check him out if your looking for a stylist that does great hair AND is a pleasure to be around.

My second time here I received the worst haircut I’ve ever had. I use Unilocal all the time and this is the first review just to warn people. Completely uneven and that terrible choppy look in the back. Instead of layers– I have 3DISTINCT lengths! The owner was nice about it, offered to fix it(I said no thanks) and did refund my money(not the tip). I have a friend who also went there and received a bad haircut. Not like mine, just not what she was looking for. I have heard there are good stylists at this salon so make sure you go to one of them and don’t walk in bc your in a rush and take the first open spot BIGMISTAKE!

Up until this past Saturday, I was a hair virgin. This meaning that I have never dyed my hair before. I didn’t realize going in that this was a big deal, but apparently, this was a big freaking deal. So who did I trust to pop my hair cherry(well that sounds disgusting), none other than Lisa and M Evans Salon. A good friend of mine had the ombré look done to her hair by Lisa and was really happy, so she referred me over to M. Evans salon where I would embark on the journey of getting my hair colored for the very first time in 23 years. I’ve self diagnosed that I am possibly going through like a mini mid/early life crisis, so naturally I wanted to make a bold move such as getting my hair highlighted purple. Yes, you read that right– PURPLE. Because when you can’t fix life’s problems, dousing it in a shiny color is sure to cure. I came into the salon armed with a few photos and a vague idea of what I wanted. When I sat down in Lisa’s chair and pulled out the pictures along with the confession of my hair virginity, I think it might have taken her off guard a tad. But once she wrapped her head around it, her excitement kicked in. She was very knowledgeable and explained to me that in my pure state, to get the vibrancy of the pictures I brought in, I would have to first bleach my hair and that the color would only last a few weeks. I was initially bummed, but she was right there with an alternative to use a permanent color that would not damage my hair like bleach would and that it would last longer however the vibrancy and«pop» would suffer some. She consulted with a few other stylist in the salon, all being very friendly and seemingly knowledgeable. I told Lisa that I would trust her judgement and to just take it away. What I really appreciated was how excited she was. It really made me trust that she was going to do a good job, and she did. I am thrilled with the final outcome, it was just what the doctor [in me] ordered. My experience at M Evans Salon was great, everyone was so friendly, the facility was clean and I’m pumped with my new purple ‘do.
