Parking is horrible even on a Thursday night. It was busy at the bar. Every seat was taken by the geriatric crowd. Still holding out hope that everything would be ok. Think positive thoughts I said to myself. The waitress who was very kind and attentive. Took our orders and that’s when the real hell began. I ordered a lemonade and chicken parmigiana. I tried to contain the horror on my face. When she brought me a plastic glass with my lemonade. A plastic plate with my salad. Yeah I’m one of those people. I want glassware not plastic. The lemonade tasted like soap was still in the glass. The server informed me it’s not«real lemonade» it’s syrup or whatever. I checked out after it’s not real lemonade. On to the chicken parmigiana. There was no flavor or seasoning to be found. Yes, I’m saying it was made«geriatric style» It came with vegetables and something else I couldn’t make out. So with that being said I had it all boxed up to go. So I could give it to an homeless person.

I have visited this location twice. First time service was slow and the place was pretty dead. Once I got my breakfast I asked«why my hash browns were hairy?» The server responded«because the cook uses a towel on them.» I was so grossed out that their was towel hair on my hash browns. Fruit bowl was really good though. The second time I visited with my dad and a friend ONLY for a drink after a nice dinner. Long story short the bartender was completely rude. He made a rude comment to me with a condescending tone. He said«your only job is the impress the man you came with»! Ew!!! Out of line and out of place. Not every girl who comes in with an older man is dating him or anything else he might have meant by his comment! The bartender bragged about his years of partnering yet he has know respect for his customers. I wish I had better things to say about this place, because it’s right next to my house :(but two strikes and I’m out!

My wife got food to go the other night, salad, fried chicken, a few other items. When she got home the food look and smelled day-old. I told her to throw it out as I didn’t want food poisoning. DINERBEWARE!

Good thing that the Christmas décor was festive because the food was awful… the sampler plate«items» all tasted the same… over fried and cooked in the same oil? The fried chicken was likewise fried to a inedible crisp… the salad was a poor excuse…2 olives and 2 tiny tomatoes do not a salad make… the waitress was pleasant to the point of smiling politely when I said the food was bad… I don’t think she understood English… certainly won’t go back… a shame that what was a good place with an interesting menu(now has 14 chicken items… owner must have bought a chicken farm!) has gone downhill… kudos to Murphy for the décor… none to the menu or the cooks…

I’ve been here maybe a handful of times and have always been ignored until I get someone’s attention. It’s never busy when I go, and the people aren’t really anything to write home about. Neither is the food. They’re actually a little rude, like you’re bothering them. I personally feel it’s racial because I’m the only person of color I’ve seen there besides the kitchen staff i.e. Bus Boys or Cooks. I’ll never eat here again.

The only real issue is the lack available parking. If you’re heading west on Pleasant Hill and notice a line of cars parked on the right side of the street, chances are, the main parking lot is full. But this place is great to bring anyone or just yourself. It’s a little pricey, but the food is worth the price. I would highly suggest their fish. Either their fish ‘n’ chips or their grilled salmon with mixed vegetables, really good. The atmosphere is very welcoming. There are two or three TVs at the bar and their staff are also very friendly and welcoming.

Well, I wasn’t so lucky here. I ordered breakfast and when my food came the bacon had been deep fried, a huge no-no! Secondly they brought burn toast, 3 mins after the breakfast plate came. I had to ask for new toast. The bacon I didn’t eat. Eggs were cooked perfectly. The servers had the traditional ‘I do not care’ attitude. When you pick up my plate and notice your guest did not touch, would should be the cornerstone of his meal, you ask for feedback! That should not require training, it’s called caring and want to!

Had never thought of eating at this place but I was pleased to find it is much nicer than your typical bar. The menu has plenty of variety. We tried it for lunch first and decided to come back for dinner later in the week. I would say I prefer this as a great place to have lunch or for drinks. Dinner was a little disappointing as they only had one waitress who was really nice but had to deal with most items on the menu being out. I ordered the Pasta Primavera which was good but heavy(too much sauce). Also, our drinks/water were not being refilled unless we asked(could be the drought). Overall, this is a good neighborhood place for a low-key lunch and/or drinks.

I live down the street from this restaurant so I frequent there every so often. saturday you go there last night and got the chicken cordon bleu. the portions that they give you are great the food is pretty good for the price the service is usually good as well. but last night eating my chicken cordon bleu I noticed something didn’t taste right. when I looked at my chicken I noticed it was still raw of course I thought maybe it was just a ham long, but then I noticed it wasn’t and it was actually the chicken that was raw. when I explain this to the waitress she apologized and you go back to the kitchen for me. she later came out plate and she is at the chef said it wasn’t a chicken it was just the hand and then asked me if it was a chicken to which I replied it was. I had a friend with me and he saw the chicken as well and knew that it was raw as soon as I showed him. now I’m not sure if the manager knew about this or not but it was just kind of upsetting you have to eat raw chicken and be told by the chef that I’m wrong when I know clearly what you looks like. so now it’s the next morning and my stomach super upset there’s only one thing I could think about is that I was eating raw chicken. now I’ll probably go back there again but definitely no I will never order again, nor will I be as nice as something else is wrong with my food. it’s my health

Don’t bother. Bad service(credit card charged twice on several occasions), bartenders are so drunk they can’t remember anything and constantly drinking more shots(probably why cc charged twice), plus refill ice water by scooping actual drinking glass in ice(germs, glass could break, lazy, drunk). Nice customers don’t make up for rude(and unfortunately racist) bartenders!!! Waitresses act like they’re doing you a favor by showing up to table! Oh, if you want to play music in a DEAD bar before 9pm… Good luck… bartenders and manager would rather listen to their own obnoxious comments! Cross it off your list before ever going. I stand by this review 100%.(Health dept has been contacted regarding several items not mentioned.)

Came in on a Thursday and it was Mexican night. Ordered the chicken nachos and they were superb. Any other place that I have ever been you need more toppings. This place you need more chips even though they give you plenty. Soooooo good. And plentiful on toppings. Amazing. Very busy but got good service. I’ll be back.

Just had wine Wednesday at Mr. Luckys! I love this place, not just because they make the best Wedge Salad and Steak bites, or that it is so close to home, but because the staff there treats me like family. I love all the servers, but most especially Kendra, who makes my visit there feel like I’m among friends. She remembers my order, and my very picky sons, and takes the time to talk and joke with us. I know I’ll be coming here as long as they have wine Wednesday, but even if the didn’t — the service would bring me back every time! If your in Pleasant Hill and want a friendly family dinner, or if your ready for a fun happy hour — stop by!

BARREVIEWONLY: Doug was very sweet, great service, and nice other patrons. I was starving after a delayed flight, and even though the restaurant part was already closed, he tracked down some sourdough bread and butter for me. Awesome! I will definitely be back when I am in town again.

It’s a neighborhood joint, so, I have to give some love for that. I don’t mind the décor, it’s not bad, not good, just meh. I went for brekkie on a Sunday, the place wasn’t crowded. The waitress didn’t have a tude, I just got the feel like she would rather be anywhere else in the world then there working. Kinda a negative. The food wasn’t horrible, I had corned beef hash and eggs — they were good. My daughter had steak and eggs, which, looked good but the steak was still mooing. If that was«medium» then I would hate to see medium rare. I’d go back, but, would probably find other local joints first. Just that kind of place. Ya feel me?

My drink was really good and the bar was pretty full but the rest of the restaurant was empty. Kinda weird. So all in all it was ok!

HORRIBLE customer service! Just at Mr. Luckys with my husband and while I had ate there 2 years before my husband hadn’t. I had always remember good food and good customer service. Man had it changed! The older blonde waitress is the worst waitress I’ve ever had! WHOSERVESYOUFOODWHILEONTHEPHONETHEWHOLETIME!!! NEVERHADTHATMYENTIRELIFE! We got there about 9:30am today(Friday) we walked in and no one was there. We saw staff in the back but was not greeted by anyone. We at first decided we were going to eat on the patio. I asked my husband to go let them know we were here and going t be outside. My husband came back out and Helped me clean off the dust on chairs and table and the blonde waitress popped out and said«My guy hasn’t cleaned the table off» I told her no problem I dust it off with some napkins, then she didn’t say a word just went back inside.(Most waitresses would be grateful that a customer would do that since that’s their job) then she comes out again and said«Are you sure you want t sit here, acorns can fall on your head». So then I said okay fine we’ll sit inside. As we go inside she tells us how she broke her shoulder on a acorn out there. Once were seated she asks us what we want to drink, I ordered a orange juice and she brings me the tiniest cup of orange juice. It was literally in a whisky glass. I had ordered orange juice from there before it was always in a tall water glass. Then after we order and she brings us our food there was one tiny cup of ketchup with a half plate of hash browns that’s not much. My husband and I both had hash browns so we asked for ALOT more ketchup and she brings one more tiny cup of ketchup. Then we both realize she forgot our toast which comes with our breakfast. She hadn’t came back to our table to check on us because she was too busy on the phone talking about if she was going to her family’s thanksgiving or not. I had to go up and ask her for more ketchup and for our toast. She comes back to our table with ketchup and no toast. I said«our meals come with toast» she replied«well you didn’t say anything so how am I supposed to know what kind of toast you want?» AREYOUKIDDINGME??? If you as a waitress knows it comes with toast you say” this comes with toast, what kind would you like?” Every waitress I’ve ever had asks, it’s common sense. It took her 10 min to bring me 1 slice of toast which was the end piece from their loaf and as she drops it off is STILL on the phone! Overall phone time was 25min of our service and was still on when we left. The food was cold, my husbands pancakes were not cooked all the way so there were mushy and still tasted like batter. We will never be returning. So disappointed at a place that used to be very good. The older waitress should quit. She is miserable and acts like customers are a hassle. ***UPDATE*** I called the owner and while he apologized for my experience, he did not offer any way to try and make it up to me or try to save me as a customer. just apologized and that was it. disappointing to not have a owner try and save a customer from never coming back after such a horrible service. I would have atleast taken my review down if they would have tried to do more.

To be fair to Mr. Lucky’s, my wife and I tried it three times in the past year. The first visit was a disaster, the second two better. Well, there was nowhere to go but up. Let’s start with that first visit, an aberration I’m sure. We got to the restaurant for dinner at 5 p.m. and were seated promptly since we were among the first persons there. Then we waited to give the waitress our order. And we waited and we waited. Meanwhile, several other customers were seated and their orders taken. Finally, our waitress took our order for soup and entrée. Then we waited some more. While we waited, the customers who had come in well after us were served their soup or salad before us. This is not an exaggeration, but the people who came maybe ten minutes after we had arrived were finished with their main course and ready to leave before we had even finished our soup. And we’re not just slow eaters. When I had asked our waitress why she wasn’t getting us our soup, she had said it wasn’t ready yet. But I had just watched several other customers being served and eating their soup a few minutes before. What was going on here? Anyway, both my wife and I were so mad by the time we got our entrees, we could hardly enjoy them. Fortunately, the second and third times we were there, the service was much better. It’s just that the food both times was rather bland, ordinary. Given Mr. Lucky’s fancy décor and moderately high pricing, I would have expected a little more quality from the food; instead, it seemed mostly on the level of a typical chain restaurant

I violated my «no pastrami on a reuben» rule. And I’m glad. I’d violate a lot of rules for one of these nearly-perfect sandwiches with onion rings. Mr. Lucky’s is a fine place to have breakfast, watch football(with or without sound), have an argument, and drink some Guinness all at the same time. Simple pleasures…

Don’t expect them to open on time for breakfast. Although the hours posted say 8am m-f I sat in the parking lot from 8am to 8:40 before the doors were open. All the TVS were on and I kept knocking but no one was to be seen. A group of three other people joined me in the parking lot all of which left. Once I saw the door unlocked I walked in and the waitress gave me a nasty snarl I asked if they were open and she sassily said«well yeah. I just haven’t turned the signs on.» then let out a sharp and heavy sigh. She obviously didn’t know I had patiently waiting to be let in. the day previous I also tried to stop in for breakfast at 8:15 they were not open then either. I didnt have the time to wait. — seems like a pretty standard way of business is to open. I was trying to get a breakfast in before my 9am meeting across the street. Now I’ve wasted and hour waiting. Lame. I’ve been here a few times for dinner and lunch as well. At best the food reminds me of cheap Reno buffet food. It’s location I’d the only reason i even try.
