So I would first off like to start by saying my boyfriend and I order from here a lot. Most of the time the food is pretty good and comes on time. We ordered delivery last night, and our bill total was $ 30.50 before the tip. The food gets here an hour after the order was placed. My boyfriend handed the delivery driver two 20 dollar bills and asked for $ 5 back. She said, «no change, no change!». That got us a little bit upset because we felt what kind of driver doesn’t have at least $ 5 in change? We decided to give her $ 31, because we felt that we were being lied to so that she could get a $ 10 tip. She then proceeds to tell us that our total is $ 35 and that we our short. The piece of paper that contains the delivered items and total bill said $ 30.50 so after counting out our $ 31.00 dollars in front of her. She gets angry and raises her voice saying, «No tip?! NOTIP?!» and so we responded with a short, «No». and she continues saying«Why no tip?». We were so mad and baffled by that kind of service that we just had to shut the door. After all of that we weren’t in a good mood. On top of all of that, guess what. the food was barely warm. I am a server and I have never tipped that little in my life, but if you are going to lie to me to try to get a 31% tip, it’s going to back fire on you. If I ever ever ever said to a table, «Why didn’t you tip me?» or «No tip?» I would be fired instantly. I’ve seen it happen. We will never order from here again due to this service and quality of the food

This food was horribly cooked. There are so many good Chinese restaurants around, I don’t know how places like this stay in business. It was really bad and over priced for the quality. I love Chinese food and this place is bad. There was no care put into the quality, preparation, taste or appearance of the dishes. The soups were bland, the appetizers overcooked and over priced what they sold. Flavor and quality ingredients were missing all around. They need to go check out their competition because they are way behind the quality that surrounds them.

It’s true that Yan’s is owned by a new family! And the quality and taste of food have never been better! I’m saddened to read some Unilocalers below aren’t pleased with the change of hands, but my experience dictates otherwise. Been back there 2 days ago, I ordered cashew chicken, mandarin beef and war wonton soup and my kids and I loved it! The new owners are hands-on, from the parents down to their children. I had to ask if the place has been sold because I was welcomed differently, very warm and service was more attentive than before! This place remains to bel our family’s go-to place whenever we’re craving chinese food!

We used to come to Yan’s all the time and hadn’t been here in a few months since we moved. When I went to go pick up the food, I noticed that the owners changed and they were not that friendly whereas the previous owners were great. The food was pretty terrible and tasteless. The dish wasn’t even really correct and they didn’t read any of the comments that I left on Grubhub. We will never come back unfortunately.

BEWARE. Yans has new owners and the food has suffered. I have been patronizing this place for several years and have enjoyed the food. but tonights three dishes were terrible! The woman I spoke to on the phone claims the chef and the recipes/sauces are the same but the food is nothing like it used to be. Sorry.no more $ from me.

Located at a small strip mall on Morello Avenue in Pleasant Hill, Ca, Yan’s Garden offers great food, great service and is consistent with their menu flavors. You’ll surely get the best bang for your buck when you order from their lunch special menu.

Speaking with the employees of this restaurant has got to be THE most frustrating experience!!! They barely speak or understand English. Their delivery time is horrible, and don’t order online because that only continues to delay your order. If you call to check on why it’s taking so long, you’ll get a very reassuring«I don’t know.» Like, are you friggen kidding me? I only order from them because they’re the only close by Chinese restaurant that delivers, but after continuous horrible service, I’m going to have to take my business elsewhere. I will say the food is good, but it’s not worth my patience or sanity.

Let it go, 4th time CALLED this last time informed them she asked me if i wanted to come all the way back from lafayette to pleasant hill for the correct food ! NO I’m done. Terrible– crab puffs, terrible –sweet sours pork… Dry noodles, I will never go there again. They lost a customer of 15 years! Can’t make an order right ! And I will tell everyone NEVERGO there!

I found Yan’s Garden through Eat 24(it was my first time using it). After placing my order online the website updated and said that it would be delivered in about an hour. I took an hour and 10 minutes, but honestly I’m okay with that because I didn’t have to leave my house(or change out of my new christmas pajamas) and my local pizza place takes just as long. The most important thing is when the food arrived everything was hot and fresh! Ordered: Chicken Chow Mein — Really, really good! Crab Cream Cheese Won Ton — Crispy and tasty! Hot and Sour Soup — Delicious! The soups ingredients were fresh and it was just spicy enough(I don’t like food that burns my face off)! Honey Walnut Chicken — This was the only thing I didn’t care for, bummer! The sauce was a weird white sauce that I didn’t like and the chicken was a tad on the chewy side. Overall, it was a great experience(and super convenient for a lazy Sunday). I will definitely order delivery from Yan’s again! :)

Food is very good. We heard owners had changed and the food was bad. Completely disagree. Food is awesome. Service isn’t great. But they are so darn busy I think they just need more help. Phone was ringing off the hook. I think with a few more people they’d be fine

I have previously ordered from them, and while their food was good I was not at all satisfied with their service. I ordered delivery from them 2 times so far, the first time they took just over an hour to deliver and this most recent time it has been close to 2 hours and they have yet to call me or provide me with a status of the update. I have also attempted to call twice without success, first they told me that they were on their way and then 45 minutes later I was told that they were still on their way and that they would call me back and hung up. However, there was no call back number provided, so how would that be possible? While food mainly a priority when choosing a place to dine, service holds just as much weight if not more. Would like to at least told realistic expectation or at least be contacted if my order is taking much longer then originally expected.

Yan’s Garden serves up some tasty fare! A lazy Sunday recovering from jetlag watching movies all day required Chinese delivery, and my usual spot wasn’t open for lunchtime orders, so I decided to hit up Yan’s Garden via Eat24, based on fabulous word of mouth. I’m so glad I did! Their online menu through Eat24 is huge(some places limit their menu through these 3rd party companies, not sure the reasoning behind it), and though their prices are a smidge on the high side for Chinese, as long as the food is delicious it’s all good. My gauge for a new Chinese place forever remains their Hong Kong chow mein and their potstickers, and both did NOT disappoint! Crunchy noodles, generous piles of chicken and veggies and a flavorful brown sauce with the chow mein, and their potstickers were among the best I’ve had, their pork and veggie filling is stellar! I also ordered their Hunan Chicken, which was a bit different than I’ve had from other spots but still tasty — chicken in a spicy brown sauce, loaded up with mixed veggies. Even requesting mild spiciness delivered a serious heat kick, red pepper flakes and all! I’m very happy I put Yan’s Garden on my radar, they will definitely be hearing from me again!

For delivery Chinese food, was pleasantly surprised Veggie egg rolls basic Shrimp dumpling soup very tasty. Broth had God flavor, cabbage added for texture and medium shrimp. I’ve had this soup from many places and often the broth is bland, very nice soup. Shrimp fried rice with scallops added, give them props for fresh ingredients, nice sized shrimp and scallops… Thought the actual flavor of the fried rice was a little lacking, but I think that’s more related to the fact I prefer Thai fried rices which tend to have better flavor than Chinese fried rice. Still nice dish Shrimp chow fun, light in flavor but good and fresh. Nice dish. Fast delivery. I would order from here again.

Ordered: Orange Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Chicken Chow Mien & Steamed Rice Cost: $ 27 Taste: Good! Nothing really crazy here, standard Chinese food. Larger portions so we had plenty of leftovers. Service: Excellent, came in and ordered(they do free delivery but it was convenient) Probably waited 7 – 9 minutes in total. Not bad at all. Overall: Will be back!

Went here because the sushi place next door was closed and couldn’t be happier. Service was nice, professional and prompt. Ordered the Westlake Beef soup which had great flavor and content. Tofu, meat or egg in each bite. Light in flavor and density. Followed that with the Salt and Pepper Eggplant which was crispy and salted and peppered appropriately. It had a subtle spicy from minced green peppers and a light lemon nuance. The main was a spicy mango chicken which had a slightly oily taste but overall great aroma and flavor. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back to try more items.

I ordered the broccoli and beef, fried rice and crab wontons. The food was delivered fast but wow, it was really hard to eat. The food was overly salty and the rice was dried out. In fact I ordered it on a Saturday and got really sick on Sunday and I believe it was the culprit. No utensils were packed, no napkins or anything that would be essential to a delivery order. I will not be eating here again and do not recommend.
