I don’t know if we just had a bad day but we were very, very disappointed with the pizza. It was very plain Jane, no extra spices, the ribs were very tough and difficult to eat, the garlic bread clearly had fake butter substitute. Just very disappointing overall. :(

The party pizza is good bang for buck — we love square slices. Cheese only runs about $ 15 and feeds a lot of people.

Just moved into the area and this pizza place is right near our house. Ordered the vegetarian pizza and wow! It was really delicious. I’ve never seen zucchini on a pie before and I was really pleased. We will definitely be regulars!

Got pizza and wings for pickup, food was very good. Once ordered, it didn’t take too long to have food ready and the guy even gave us 2 free sodas. Will be back

Their pizza is amazing, almost like my favorite pizza joint in Alameda called New York Pizza, humungous but more importantly delicious. Ranjith was very helpful and kind, I’ll be back.

I’m new to the area… and this is the best pizza in town so far! I got just a plain cheese and it was ah-mazing!

Tried it once, but was very underwhelmed. Too many other options so I probably won’t be trying it again.

Food was good, BUT got ripped off from the delivery driver. Paid driver in cash and he said he didn’t have change. He took my money and said he would bring back my change, he never did. Hope that $ 10 tip was worth losing a customer! First and last time I will order from this place.

Update: After months of ordering several pizzas delivered every few weeks, they made some major faux pas today: a) delivery took 1.5+ hrs vs. 45 mins w/no call, even though I ordered online at the same time I usually do(rt after they open at 11am) b) the chicken fettuccine alfredo was actually chicken penne w/ranch dressing… which I am allergic to. I complained about the delivery delay to Eat24, which is their online ordering service, and while Eat24 gave me a coupon, the restaurant said, «they wanted to take care of me personally.» I haven’t seen any signs of anything from the restaurant. Sooo… I am downgrading them to 3 stars. Quality and svc not reliable. Too bad, I was really enjoying them until now.

Their sandwiches blow the competition out of the water. Large portions and well made — worth the $$ imo. I’ve had them delivered a few times and each time the food was tasty and delivery quick. Pizza is good but there are others better. The sandwiches tho — the best.

Really pretty good. They have been very pleasant with me. Try them. I’ve been three times and have no complaints at all.

For a eat-in/take-out pizza joint, this place is not bad. I am from New York so I am very picky about my oizza and I thought out of most pizza places I have tried, this pizza place was definitely in my top 3.

I went here for lunch today. The one in San Ramon has a whole buffet and salad bar for lunch. I came thinking it would be the same. I was mistaken. They have a salad bar with nothing in it and when I asked if they had a lunch deal they looked at me like I was crazy. Really?! What pizza place doesn’t have a slice and soda deal. I paid $ 19 for a small pizza and side salad. Ridiculous. Never again. San Ramon is 100x better.

Solid quality, like the ingredients(cheeses, pepperoni etc), crust is about right — not too thin, baked perfectly. Service is fast and courteous, place looked clean and well kept. Good value for the money — personal pepperoni is $ 4 and a change. Only reservation is a sauce — bit too sharp for my liking, in fairness kids love it.

I love when pizza places smell«old-school’. Clean place with inside seating. You would think with a name like GARLIX they would be super heavy on the garlic. no they are normal with the garlic. The pizza was good, their garlic cheese bread was knock you out ! I really liked that bread. There is a little bit of a wait for the pizza but that is okay. I also like how they do not over salt their pizza ingredients like Round table does. I would go back for the garlic bread alone.

Owners are rude. We ordered 2 pizzas delivery guy comes with one pizza and we call them back and the owner was arguing with us instead of making the situation better, neither apologize. I know what I ordered and it is not my fault he doesn’t understand English well when I have to repeat myself many times. That’s not the way you take care of business, owner needs to understand that whether it is a customer’s fault or not, YOU do NOT argue with them, learned your lesson otherwise you will continue loosing customers like you just lost 2. Customer service comes first.

Ordered pizza and wings to go. Took a little longer than we expected(since we were the only customers in the restaurant), but we were happy with our food when we got home.

Fine pizzas and no hassle, nice thin crust, and they are okay with topping A on one half and B on the other half. We usually order the King Kong Deal and pick it up. It’s huge, barely fits through the door, and we all get to have cold pizza for the rest of the weekend.

This is not the same Garlex we all grew up with. I worked for Gary for two years. He was a great guy, and always took care of his employees. We all got paid very well via tips, and we were always slammed with orders every night of the week. We always used fresh dough, that was made daily. The sauce was good and all ingredients were fresh and of high quality. Sadly, that is not the case anymore. So, thinking that if someone would spend the money to buy the name, they would retain the freshness and quality the Garlex name embodied. Nooooooope! It tasted like little Caesars! So I will never be going back. Maybe I will run over to Dublin or San Ramon which were owned by Alex to see if they have changed ownership and quality too.

Dear god… Ok, a little history. I worked at Garlex back in 1989 as a delivery driver while I was a senior at Amador Valley High School. It was a very fun job and I made good money. The pizza was great, and Gary and Alex(hence the Garlex name) were great guys to work for…(I am sure finding out that Brian embezzled thousands and thousands of dollars from the cash register was not fun for them)… Anyhow, the pizza was great. Great soft crust, moist cheese, excellent topings. People loved our pizza! I was in the area today and decided to stop by for a couple of slices at lunch. I ordered a mushroom and green pepper slice and a cheese slice. Oh brotha. they were DISGUSTING! The crust was hard. The cheese was definitely not real. There was so much sause on the pizza that when you bit into it, the cheese slid off. The taste was that of a forzen microwave pizza. Overall I was extremely dissapointed. Not sure if the place is still owned by Gary and Alex, but the pizza was crap… It was not tasty at all. Heck, the pizza we had at the Amador HS cafeteria was better. Did I mention that the pizza was crap? Yes. it was crap. Oh and the cashier didn’t wash his hands after he took my money and went to make the slices. Bad… And another thing. the pizza tasted like CRAP… soooo sad!
