Fast friendly and delicious. I have never had a bad meal here. The people are pleasant and the food is wonderful. I will agree parking can be tough but that is downtown Pleasanton. Their are a few places in town i eat at. This is one of the top three for quality Mexican food with plenty of outdoor seating.

High Tech is generally very good. The guacamole is a little strange as it is a bit runny. It is also important to emphasize light rice or beans if that is your preference. The food is five stars overall for this type of restaurant but unless I ask three times to ensure light rice, the burrito is loaded with rice. A star also removed as the salsa bar is not accessible. Final reason for only four stars is you have to remember to give your phone number to participate in the frequent diner program and I usually forget. I can only be responsible for so much. They are good with doing a make your own burrito though. I often power up with a mix of chicken and shrimp, light rice and beans which you probably figured out by now, lettuce, pico de gallo, guac, hot salsa. Fish tacos are also a hit and are not deep fried. Thanks–

I actually had a good experience here last weekend. The food wasn’t that bad as I was definitely expecting much worse :) So my MBA classmate(we went to school in Boston) and I as well as his family took a trip to High Tech Burrito because his kids really like this place. Oh on another note, my classmate and I went to school together and hadn’t seen each other in over 15 years. Turns out I get a job in this area and coincidentally move about 1 mile from him. Go figure! Anyways sorry no pictures, but we took the trip to this Pleasanton branch and as I mentioned above, I wasn’t expecting anything great. However the experience was really good. The service was top notch, the guy behind the counter was the best. It was obvious we were taking our time and he was very patient with us. I ordered two tacos: 1 asada and 1 fish. I also ordered the chips as I like to judge a Mex place by their chips too. We sat outside on their patio as last Sunday was a nice, sunny day. The counter guy brought out our food and even gave us another service of chips on the house. That was a nice gesture. My tacos were really good. The fish was especially the best. Some places give you one piece of fish, but HTB gives you two good sized pieces. I actually made two tacos out of it. The garnish(whatever it was) was actually really good too. It was like a light cream based sauce with cabbage. I wish I had taken a pic, but I’m sure someone has posted one here in the photo album. I’d definitely say that its not muy authentico, but its not a fusion bastardization of a taco either. I’d definitely like to go again as it’s close to where I live and downtown Pleasanton is a chill place to hang out.

High tech burritos? I was expecting an awesome burrito with a built-in LCD touchscreen, USB port, with Wi-Fi & Bluetooth capabilities. What a disappointment. At least make it glow in the dark? Maybe it did… On the plus side, they have lots of outdoor seating & it’s very pet-friendly. Parking sucks because you have to park on the street. Price was a bit on the higher end as well.

So, I’ve been coming here about once a week for the past ten years. Most of the food here is acceptable, however, the outdoor seating and friendly service make up for a lot. There are two standout items that I routinely get: 1) the Cajun Shrimp Burrito(beware, it is spicy) and 2) the Breakfast Burrito — no meat sub the corn salsa for regular salsa.
