I used to work here and this place as far as food and wine is awful. Also the owner Rick Ring is one of the worst humans on earth. And I’ve worked in restaurants almost 12 years now. Rick talks to all his staff like he owns them and disrespects them in public parts of the restaurant in front of everyone. It’s incredibly awkward for the staff and the customers. I have come across MANY former employees of Rick(managers, servers, cooks and bartenders) and have never heard anyone say anything positive of the guy. From these people I was told lots of things including this same story over an over from multiple different people. He used to strong arm local businesses that he used to manage but got fired from. Like Happ’s, who he used to manage, he made sure they had to serve a lesser quality of meat when he was fired by them. He told their steak distributer, who was the same for his multiple other restaurants, that if they continued to sell Certified Angus Beef to Happ’s then he would stop selling it in all his steakhouses. Therefore the distributer stopped selling it to them, now they have generic Nebraska corn fed beef. He did not do this for profit, no he did it just for spite and to make their business suffer. You can make Italian food at home better, and you probably wouldn’t make things out of ingredients that have been frozen. Also there are just 10 pound bags of Barilla pasta(same stuff we all can buy at Safeway) in the back. His wine«closet» is an generic closet next to an outside wall and it’s not insulated from the summer heat. When you go in there it’s often too hot to be in for longer than a minute during the spring and summer. That’s far too hot for any wine to be stored in.

Lovely, romantic restaurant located in Pleasanton. The food was delicious and the service was great. Our waiter was very kind and helpful. The food was rich in flavors. We ordered the meatballs, the lobster pepperdalle and the penne bolognese(excuse the incorrect spelling – I’m not exactly sure of the proper spelling for the terms). Everything tasted homemade, which is an incredibly unique skill for a restaurant to acquire. We were extremely satisfied with our visit to this restaurant and I would be happy to go back!

Food was very good however service was absolutely terrible. I had ordered a water to drink and was served a water in a cocktail glass which was never refilled or asked if I would have liked it refilled. Was billed for food we did not order. Waitress never checked on how we were doing and the Resturaunt was not that busy. Will not be returning due to the absolutely rude waitress that we had

I came here knowing the last 2 times I was disappointed. However, I’m pregnant and I have two kids and didn’t want to travel far from home so I gave it another shot on Monday. My chicken parm was served about 4 min after ordering it. It was still cold. So they don’t cook your food, they just reheat it. And they don’t even do that. By the time I had eaten 3 bites in, it was even colder. I couldn’t even eat it. This place is not Italian. It’s not good. It’s not even fresh food. Never again will I give them my money.

Reasonably good food. The appetizer Goat cheese bruschetta was really good, I do not drink but my friends seemed to be happy with their collection. The ravioli was a bit dry for me — I am not used to it. Little pricey. Dessert not great. Hospitality was great. Worth a visit for those who want to drink and spend some time during the happy hour.

I ate here several months ago. The food was actually good and the ambience was nice. So I decided to come back a second time with my girlfriend. We sat down in the patio area. We waited about 10 min before we were offered water and a drink order was taken. No big deal as it was a busy night and there were a lot of people out. Almost immediately after we ordered our drinks, we had an urgent phone call that required is to leave — mind you, we were not served our drinks, water, or any other complementary food. So we try to flag down our server… She’s no where to be found. We try to flag A server… No one is on the patio. 10 minutes goes by and she hasn’t come back to deliver our drinks. So we tell the busboy that we are leaving and to please cancel our drinks. As we leave, the assistant manager follows me across the street(I attached a photo from the video I took of her… I can only describe her as a pudgy blond woman with a soft jaw line). She starts yelling at me(in front of a group of 8 strangers) saying that I needed to pay for the drinks. I explained to her that we tried to cancel the drinks with the server but couldn’t find her. I then told her we informed the busboy before we left. Mind you, she’s getting really agitated and animated as I’m talking to her, so I turn on my video recorder(wish I could post the video to share). This woman starts yelling and calling me names. I won’t put them on here, but they were HIGHLY inappropriate and it was all captured on video. She storms off and I go take care of the urgent issue. Two days later I call the owner and meet with him. I tell him what happened and show him the video. The owner has the nerve to say ‘she was out of line’, but that I should have made an extra effort to walk to the bar and cancel my drink if I couldn’t find the server. He then said he thought I should pay him the $ 20 for the drinks I did not consume. Really? Telling the busboy wasn’t good enough? Now you want $ 20 for drinks that were not put on the table when we were there? Classless management, terrible service, and no accountability. Shame on you guys.

Came here for a night out with my boyfriend. He ordered lasagna and I ordered the lobster pappardelle. Food was decent! One thing I didn’t like was my noodles were sticking together and it did need a touch of salt, but the lasagna was good too! It was a bit overpriced for me, and it did take a while for the food to come out even if we didn’t order appetizers. But the service was good! They kept refilling our waters without us asking and kept giving us bread. I would come back to this place again!

Really bad food for both people in my party. Overpriced for«Olive Garden» quality food. Pro: — Goat cheese bruschetta — wine, since it was in a bottle. — service was wonderful Cons: food. — Eggplant Parmesan clearly frozen because it came out in five minutes, and they had fried it but still very tough and completely uncooked from the middle. Sent it back because it was completely raw from the inside. The returned piece was still tough and undercooked, and even that was returned in 5 minutes. Furthermore, the pasta just had a large spoonful of ricotta sitting on top??? Very bizarre, for $ 20. — Butternut squash lasagna: first of all, wasn’t a lasagna at all and instead was a ravioli. Looked quite small and filling was acceptable. Undercooked again. Did not return, since we were already disappointed. I don’t quite get why this was the experience. It wasn’t a busy night at all — Sunday night was pretty quiet. An expensive meal without any quality of food.

FOOD: not impressed. Overcooked steak. Asked for medium rare and when they tried to «do it again» it was«well done». Nothing outstanding here, except perhaps the Chicken Parm. Too much pasta, too many carbs. Want other meat options, besides fish and one over-cooked steak. Salad was too small for a «dinner» portion and was a big disappointment. SERVICE: too slow. Not enough servers for the large parties and servers spread too thin. Almost got up and left it took over 10 min for server to greet us at the table and another 10 min to get a drink. When this restaurant is empty, service flows. When full, they become quickly overwhelmed and wait is extensive.

Made reservation, had table waiting up front which was preset for the number of people in our party. A very good sign. I brought a bottle of wine which the waiter promptly opened and served. Reasonable $ 15 corkage. Requested an ice bucket for chilling the wine and it quickly arrived. Complimentary bruschetta arrived and was delicious. Unfortunately the bruschetta was pretty much the highlight of the menu. Excellent waitstaff and service was marred by a confused menu, or perhaps a confused chef. The grilled halibut with cheese risotto was served pan-fried and was dry as a bone. The risotto was deep fried and served like it was a crab cake. The fish was described as grilled and there was no mention of deep frying the risotto. I would not have ordered this item if I had know this is how it would be served. Others in the party ordered fish as well which also appeared to be pan fried. Perhaps their grill was down? Why not mention that during the ordering process. The funny thing is many of the reviews mentioned poor service, however I received truly excellent and prompt service from both the waitstaff and the bussers. Also the pacing of the meal was excellent, the transition from pre-order drinks, to bread, to app, to soup/salad, to mains was excellent with just enough time allowed to pass between each to get the appetite going again. I might suggest this restaurant for items other then seafood, but with so many italian options in the Pleasanton area you might be better off trying another.

Came here for the first time with a large party, this place did not disappoint. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, he definitely worked hard. The wine was flowing and the food was so good. I had ordered the filet and omg so dam good! I ate every single bite. When we’re in the area we will definitely be back here.

Came here for the 1st time and this place is absolutely amazing. The food and the service couldn’t be any better . I had the Chicken Picatta — lemon butter, capers, mushrooms, tomatoes, white wine, angel hair pasta, to die for … The salmon and filet mignon were just as good. Perfect out side seating for a beautiful day. Our Server Michelle was great friendly and perfect service too. Will definitely come back again!

Nice place for lunch in downtown Pleasanton. Came for a work lunch and tried their Ryan’s smoked turkey panini(brie, cranberry, apple, arugula, onion, tarragon aioli, ciabatta) for $ 13. Reasonably priced and fills you up with only half the sandwich. Tasted super fresh and the apples really added a yummy crunch. Side salad was nice too, but wish there was more dressing. Our server was friendly and very chatty.

Food was good! But service was slow and I never had my water refilled. It wasn’t that busy on a Sunday night. Needs improvement. Maybe a manager?

Yum!!! What a nice little place to stumble upon in downtown Pleasanton. The food was delish! I had the Penne Alla Vodka with salmon & asparagus. It was perfect. As well as the bread with dinner and bowl of soup shared as an appetizer. My bf had the rigatoni napoletano with chicken, spinach, and marinara sauce. It was delicious as well. The atmosphere was very nice, service great, and food worth writing home about.
