Oakley, CA
Upstairs rooms are large and have nice high ceilings. Large bathroom, with separate sink/​vanity outside of bath/​toilet area. Nice balcony. Clean rooms. No playground as advertised, just a grass area with picnic table. Manager was crabby. Terrible continental breakfast (muffins and Capri sun, orange juice, only). For the price, it is a good place to stay.

Whittier, CA
Along the dark highway, we needed to find someplace to rest our heads, after reading a sign for a Best Western off the freeway but end up coming across Westhaven Inn in the dark and quiet streets. We came across a very clean establishment with large rooms and a small continental breakfast. The owners have a simple lawn area for picnicking with tables and chairs. Free wifi and friendly mangers running the place, you can ask for much more. The cherry on top would be the quiet, shy, but adorable dog that helps the owners out at the front desk. We would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity.

Stayed here for three nights over New Years. Nice place, huge room, some amenities. Really close to highway 50 and Placerville, 45 minutes to Sierra on a good day.
Owner has free WiFi and was kind enough to loan me a tool for a minor auto-​repair. Recommended.
