I ate at Day Days Bbq and Waffle House Sunday evening. The food was absolutely delicious. We most definitely will be coming back and telling our friends. The food and service was great. Great food and Great prices.

1st time and the food was delicious! The catfish, Cajun cabbage, Mac and Cheese for me and for my better half, chicken, red beans and rice and the greens! If they had tropical punch kool-aid, they’d get 10 stars. Lots of options on the menu so it’s hard to choose but we will back again.

I Won’t be back again! We complained, and management treated us horribly, I thought customer is always right, this makes our people look bad!

This establishment is amazing! I’ve been here every Saturday for the last month and I have not regretted it yet. The food is cooked to your satisfaction and liking. The portions are plentiful and affordable. The owner and staff are very friendly and hospitable. I’m a fitness and health freak but this place definitely gives me my fix when I need to eat out. I recommend them all the way!

What a nice cozy spot to have breakfast like grandma use to make. Food was exceptional and the service was awesome. The servers were attentive. I will return in the very near future. I definitely would recommend this place to family and friends. I truly enjoyed the Janice Delight.

Atmosphere just right and such warm friendly staff. Really accommodating. We felt very well taken cared of. Good stuff: Eggs over easy were perfect, smooth grits. Waffle batter is sweetened so some might opt for no powdered sugar, and a little doughey. They were able to do Omelette as a Scramble which was so nice. Not the best chicken says my Gardena boy husband who loves his fried chicken. He prefers Harry’s Fried chicken of days gone by. Area is funky but all was well with our car. Restroom needs good scrubbing but front of house is nice and clean and suck nice folks.

Went on a Friday Night looking for BBQ but they only serve it on Sat and Sunday So I had a house special that was a Wonderul pork shops smothered in gravy and rice. Was plentiful enough to share and the Mac and Cheese is very tasty. Meal was about $ 21 bucks with the pudding. Skip the banana pudding it was not that good. Located in a sketch part of Pomona so lock your car. Overall a decent meal.

Wow I have so much to say about their awesome food. The waffles are to die for, cheese grits and pork chops are so flavorful. I come here at least four times a month. I cannot wait to taste the oxtails. Mac n cheese on point too.

We visited Sunday afternoon to take out a meal for dinner. Although the staff was friendly and professional, we were disappointed in the food. We ordered a BBQ rib dinner and a seafood platter. The ribs were fatty, over cooked and the black Eyed Peas and red beans and rice were too salty to eat. The seafood was over fried so hard there were no edible or recognizable, oysters, shrimp or fish. We won’t waste another $ 35 at this restaurant. There was nothing in these meals we could eat. I only wish the other reviews had been honest and prevented this horrible experience.

Good flavors and good portion size. All the home grown favorites. The presentation of the food can be a little better. Also the eating area is very small!

Stopped here for brunch on a Saturday after visiting Claremont McKenna College. The wait was longer than expected, about 30 minutes, and the lone waitress was kind and apologetic. In fact, she not only apologized, she gave us free drinks and a free side dish! Staff was warm and gracious, if overworked. This hard-to-find hole in the wall is worth going out of your way. We both had the Teasha’s Combo, which was recommended by other reviewers. I am also recommending this combo. The fried chicken is amazing, seasoned just right and not too salty. I am not sure I have ever had better waffles. They are light and airy, not too sweet, not too sour. With the gorgeous dusting of powdered sugar you only need a little syrup. The grits are creamy and delicious, my southern born dining companion agreed. I will definitely be coming back. I agree there’s nothing like a fork full of chicken with grits and eggs and maybe even a little waffles and syrup. Amazing blend of tastes! Do not miss the fried chicken and giant waffles!

Excellent service! Very homely environment and the waitress’ make you feel so at home! I was worried looking at the outside but when you walk in you are taken into a 70’s Louisiana diner with absolutely amazing food and southern hospitality! Mouthwatering and incredible proportions.

sorry, not this time day day’s. called ahead and ordered the ron c’s. they said it’d be about $ 16 but i guess tax bumped my total up to 18 something. was super busy. managed to pick my stuff up and headed home. relatiely good amount of food. one piece red snapper, one catfish, one fried oyster, two shrimp and two hushpuppies fries and collared greens. The snapper was relatively good. Catfish had too much of a fish taste to it. fried oyster was goo but too salty, same with some parts of the catfish. shrimp was good. hushpuppies was meh. collared greens were also too salty. Food didn’t taste that great this time and i felt like it was a bit too pricey. gotta come back and try something else… seems like they’ve finally extended their hours past five.

Came here once again solo for dinner after work. I walked in and seated quickly. Girl server took my drink order which is red cool aid. A few minutes later when she delivered took my food order which is waffles with 3 piece chicken, potatoes and eggs over medium. It looks like the amount of wait for my order is nothing is pre cooked whatsoever and it shows by looks and taste! I had leg, thigh and breast BTW, and everything is delicious and will be worth of wait! Better than almost anywhere else for chicken! Definitely recommend this place and will come again when I’m really hungry(portions are good sized)!

One of the great reasons to move to Southern California: SOULFOOD. The concept of the chicken and waffle was never really clear to me coming from Hawaii where rice is the common starch with most dishes. Well, since frequenting the southwest for the last few years and having my cherry broken at Roscoes and even better, Lo Lo’s in Arizona, I completely live that pairing now. How happy was I to find Day Day’s while working in Pomona the other day?! I have to tell you, the street that Day Day’s is on, is a little seedy. Broken glass marked my parking stall, and I think I saw a «contraband» distribution device on the ground a few feet from the glass, but seeing that it was lunch, we deemed the parking«safe enough». I’m really glad we didn’t let that deter us from Day Day’s chicken wings! We were greeted with warm smile by a very pleasant and lovely waitress and seated immediately. The dining area is small, but seating was comfortable and spacious. Although there were a lot of different soul food options on the menu, I didn’t divert from the chicken and waffles. Both arrived quickly after I ordered them, hot and smelling wonderful. The wings were crispy on the outside, but juicy on the inside, and the meat just slipped off the bones. The waffles were just right also being crispy, but chewy – so wonderful w/the healthy serving of butter and maple syrup. I needed a nap after finishing that off, and had to cut my run short that evening because I felt my heart cinch, but it was completely WORTHIT. Hope to see you again soon Day Day’s! :)

What can I say other than damn… this food was delicious? Ok well many things… Did I feel like I was risking my life? No… I’m from the I.E. so I fit right in… did I read ahead and know to carry cash money? Yes… I did. Did I linger at the door just creeping… no…I sat myself and my brood down in an empty booth and got greeted right away. We ordered the jambalaya and the half chicken and waffles… cause it’s chicken & waffle time. Let me begin… Jambalaya…I’ve had it where my mouth is on fire after threes spoonfuls… where it’s bland… where you know it’s Zatataran’s. I asked how it was prepared and I asked them to make it mild since the table had a Tabasco on the table. The offspring enjoyed it… it was a bit more tomato’ than others I had but it was very good. The waffles… damn good… just damn The chicken… I’ve heard some people say that the true test of fried chicken is how it tastes the next day… I call BS to than reference cause everyone knows that if the fried chicken is damn good then there’ll be no leftovers… and yes this chicken is damn good. Cheesy grits… yes…just yes. Bring cash… order chicken and eat

Drove mom to an appointment around the area. Got on Unilocal and searched for breakfast and brunch and found this place in number 1. Had to drive around the place twice because I couldn’t find parking. At the second go I got street parking. Mom ordered hot tea, she is very particular about the temperature of her drink that many a time she has had them sent back. Surprisingly she was quiet even after we gave our orders. So I asked how her tea was and she answered it was perfect. She ordered the Cajun grilled chicken breast sandwich. She said it was nothing to write grandma about. I ordered the half chicken with country style potatoes, over well egg and a waffle. I loved the waffle, it was crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The seasoning on the potatoes wasn’t even and there was an uninviting aroma from them, the first bite was way too salty and in some parts no flavor. The chicken had a nice salt and pepper crust but the meat didn’t have any flavor. The best way to test fried chicken is the day after. Unfortunately, this didn’t come up to par. I really don’t like comparing but sadly Day Day’s don’t measure up to R’s chicken and waffle.

Quit it. Quit actin’ like you’re too good for Pomona. Stop actin’ like you don’t come to our fair every year, eatin’ up all the fried shit and buying Shamwows. Acting like you don’t hit up the drag races, swap meet Mission Tiki drive-in and car shows. Please. So let me give you another reason to love P-town: Fuckin’ Day Days. Check it: 1. Yes, it’s hard to find. It’s on the south side of Holt, off Loranne, and there’s usually a big ass van blocking it. Mostly, all you have to do is look for the yellow star sitting on top of the liquor store at the corner; Day Day’s is right next door, with the bbq pit in front. 2. It’s not«scary». Alright, it’s a little dusty on the outside, but I dig that old-school awning and the smiles you get when you step inside. And for fucks sake, don’t open the door and then just stand there huddled together waiting for someone to take your hand. Walk in, return the smile and take an empty table. Damn. 3. Remember that time you and your bros saw Kanye at the Hollywood Bowl and then went to Roscoes afterwards? This… is…better. I mean, I can’t speak for the meats, but the waffle, mac n’ cheese and greens are better. Even their fried eggs are better. And every carnivore I’ve brought here has said the meat was solid. 4. It’s cash only. Expect to spend $ 12-$ 18 per person, so just pull out a twenty from the ATM on the way over. Give yourself some time here; as with most good home cookin’, the magic takes longer than heating up your potatoes in the microwave. And if you’re looking to get your AYCE Sunday bbq on, you better go before church because they run out by noon. As good as the food is, I gotta say my favorite part about this joint is the service. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you look like, who you’re with… you get the same friendly service as everyone else. That means smiles when you walk in, patience when you don’t know what to order and genuine hospitality. To everyone. re: their fried chicken Donahoo’s better watch out, believe that.

Ok let me tell you something. I ventured out this morning with mom and the kids. This spot right here. Mm mmm mmm good. The service is hospitable… Ok stop playing, down home. Made me feel like family. The food was absolute wonderful. Usually I take a pic as the food arrives but these plates tell you how good it was. The kids got Kool aid to wash down the delicious meal. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The waffles were light and fluffy. The home fried potatoes took me to a place a serenity and peace. I enjoyed it thoroughly. We Will definitely return.

I loved my meal here, but location wise, Day Day’s BBQ& Waffle House is not the the faint of heart. It is located off of Holt– the main street that runs through the heart of Pomona, and it’s a small space located next to a restaurant supply shop and a few other miscellaneous stores. The entrance swings open with a screen door. You are seated in sticky vinyl booths, which I would imagine, would be kind of gross on blistering hot days, and well, there’s not much to be said about the décor. But if you can look past all of that, this place serves up top notch Southern cooking. My sister and I ordered and shared a number of different breakfast plates: –ant banks: deep fried cornmeal crusted snapper– came with eggs, potatoes + your choice of toast. It’s the quintessential Southern protein, and strangely, it didn’t feel weird eating deep fried snapper with eggs for breakfast. The snapper was tender and flakey. Doused with a heavy dose of hot sauce and this dish was great. –chocolate’s feast: two pan fried pork chops, eggs, potatoes + your choice of toast. The pork chops were juicy and succulent. They were paired with a side of gravy that I happily poured over everything else. Again, the it didn’t feel weird eating pork chops for breakfast because they were that good. We also shared an order of fried chicken(great, I would come back for this) + chicken sausages patties… which were okay– I would try the pork patties next time. Portions were generous and dishes were cheap. The staff is friendly, so there are plenty of regulars that frequent the joint. The specials are written on the chalkboard. There’s street parking out in front, but be forewarned– come here to experience the splendor of the food. Don’t do that thing and factor in environment/décor/and all that other extraneous crap into the rating. Day Day’s BBQ is great for what it offers.
