Fishy tasting garlic bread? I can’t figure that one out. The portions are generous. My veal piccata was ok, my husbands chicken parmesean a was sweet. The meal was all together bland, basic, unimaginative, typical American Italian and not in the good way. I think this is a great place to take your octogenarian grandparents.

Wonderful atmosphere, very cozy and romantic! Servers are kind, informative and quick with the service. Never have to ask for a drink refill! Food was amazing as was the bread and salad it came with. We loved this place, will definitely go back when in pompano. 5 stars all the way!!!

AMAZING! From the moment you walk in it is clear no detail has gone unnoticed. Sitting out in the patio on a warm summer night, the live music begins and our waiter starts by describing the many delicious specials of the evening. We order wine and then study the menu. After deciding on appetizers and dinner, we order then settle in for a long night of fine dining, music and wine. Our food arrives from presentation to taste it is perfection. Dessert is fresh cannoli, nothing short of something coming from an Italian grandmas kitchen. Owner Giuseppe was gracious, gorgeous and charming. Best night I’ve had in years. I highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

One of the best atmospheres in Fort Lauderdale. The owner and her boyfriend are so down to earth and welcoming that you feel like you’re home every time you visit. Live music on the weekends and the food is excellent every night. I can never finish my chicken parmesan. I’m sure the servers are great, but I’ve never made it past the bar, so I don’t know. It’s too hard to pass up spending time with Rose. Rose is the best.

This place is amazing. It is a hidden gem in pompano. I love the penne alla vodka dish and the baked clams are unreal.

Adorable little Italian restaurant! Choice of inside or outside courtyard dining. Inside is dimly lit and romantic, nice little bar with a great bar tender. The service is impeccable — old school Italian waiters taking your orders. The food is incredibly good — baked clams oreganata, fried calamari, linguine with clam sauce, branzino all delicious. Great drinks, great wine — go!

When I visited La Veranda last July, I didn’t have a Unilocal account. But now that I do, I feel this place deserves a review. I remember my experience like it was yesterday and I would honestly come back to Pompano beach just to eat here again. The very first thing you see when you walk in is the gorgeous courtyard which had plenty of tables to sit at! It was truly stunning in every way and made me feel like I was in a tuscan village. Not only was the outside area incredible, but the inside dining area was also very romantic and inviting. Our waiter was very knowledgable with pairing wine with our meals and overall giving my family incredible service! I ended up getting the chicken francese($ 19.95) for my entrée and I can’t say enough good things about this. The chicken was so tender and the lemon sauce had just the right amount of lemon. It came with two pieces of chicken, a side of spaghetti, a salad and some of the best garlic bread I have had in awhile! I’m used to so many Italian restaurants bringing bread with dipping oil so this was a nice change up! Something else that stood out to me was how welcoming the owner was. He made his way over to our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal and we didn’t hesitate to tell him how much we loved our food and how we wish we could have La Veranda back in Pittsburgh. I am beyond happy that I stumbled across this restaurant while on vacation and I hope to return soon.

This place is amazing. The ambiance is so quaint and romantic. The food is divine — make their own pasta and mozzarella — the smells are intoxicating. The service is impeccable. Owners are there serving food and helping out where needed. We were honestly treated like royalty. I am so happy we found this place. I can’t say enough good things about it.

The food is great here and it’s very busy. I have been here many times in the past and the service is for the most part amazing. Last evening was for my mothers birthday and the waiter was busy but seemed to be annoyed by our requests for more garlic bread, refills on water, I ordered ice tea twice and it never arrived. He was one of the Italians and was extremely hard to understand. He is there to take care of us and make our dining experience better. I wanted to give them a 3 but the food is 6 stars so I couldn’t. I hope they pay more attention. Our water was empty for the last 35 minutes of our dinner. We also asked for take home containers and the check. He walked away and came back 25 minutes later. I said where is our check? He looked at me with the screw you I am busy face and walked away.

First let me say that we went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our neighbors, Arizona Lee his birthday so we decided to go there for dinner. We made recommendations because they were recommended when we pulled up valet our car the service was free obviously just the tip. When we got there we were seated quickly the décor and the ambience of the restaurant were great remind us of an old school Italian restaurant. Our server seemed a bit scatterbrained and a bit overwhelmed mind you it was a Saturday night and it was busy for me ask about the specials he went on on to a laundry list of specials so pay close attention to the one that you want. The food was okay nothing that really blew our doors away my wife has a very discerning palate when it comes to Italian food. They have a long list of wines ranging in price from 20 to above 100. Depending on your taste. I had the stuffed chicken with mozzarella and spinach and my wife had the sausage and spinach over pasta. We are on the fence as to if we return or not next time I’ll try sitting at the bar. This place has a beautiful courtyard, and maybe next time we’ll try one of the specials.

Food and bar service was FABULOUS! The outside patio area has a romantic charm to it. Rose, who works behind the bar is very personable and couldn’t be any nicer. We sat at the bar and shared the Shrimp Veranda over Linguini that was cooked to perfection — the Shrimp was fresh and the pasta was not over cooked. Then for dessert we had the Cannoli stuffed with cream that was fresh. This place was crowded for a Wednesday night, we found out that they are under new ownership… but you wouldn’t know it — the food was DELICIOUS!

Perfect atmosphere and delicious Italian food! Angel hair pasta with sausage and spinach was really really really really good. And gluten-free pasta! It was fabulous. Eggplant Parmesan was scrumptious. Oh and Giuseppe the owner is a good looking man!!! Eye candy! Looking forward to seductive live music on Friday and Saturday nights!

I’ve been here a few times and the food gets better and better. On the weekends they have live music which is very entertaining. It is a very rich, friendly environment with lots of energy and almost a party like atmosphere on Friday and Saturday nights. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Great cozy Italian joint in Ft Lauderdale. We came in a few days after Christmas. Highlights: — Great veal parmigiana and garlic bread. — Half off wine bottles on Tuesdays. Low lights: — Some service issues including the fact that our waiter not writing down our order and then summarily getting it wrong. — Salads are a few pieces of lettuce thrown into stacked bowls. A nice gesture but they could definitely try harder. — Pasta portions small and a little over cooked. Either way — veal parm is my jam and this place is cute so I’m definitely willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I’ll be back!

First time here since Frank sold it. Been coming here for 20 years. It is just not the same without Frank! From his greeting you when you walked in the door to his stopping by to chat. Food lost its character and soul. Also service is not the have the same persona and charm. So sorry as this was our fav Italian in all of Florida!!! Miss you Frank but hope you are enjoying retirement = you certainly earned it!!!

No pictures tonight just a great time. Mangia! Mangia! Indulge yourself at La Veranda, A neighborhood staple in Pompano for so many years. Hands down my favorite spot for great Italian cuisine. I have been coming here for 25+ years and have always enjoyed a great time from the moment I walk in to the moment I walk out. Come see for yourself, you won’t be disappointed. They’re always happy to see you walk through those doors and welcome you back like family. The place has a cozy feel and is enhanced by it’s open view of the outdoor dining patio. They have a bar inside offering up great cocktails with several tables for a small groups and a larger private area in the back for special gatherings. The new owners Giuseppe & Bailey have under way an upstairs 1930’s Style Speak Easy Cocktail Lounge in the works. Can’t Wait, A few more months. They are very nice and I know their vision will be an amazing local hot spot in the community. Great cocktails and great food. I have to personally thank the best waiter serving me for the last 11 years Glen for another job well done.

This is what I imagine an old school Italian restaurant to be like. I’ve never been the biggest fan of Italian food, but it was de-li-cious! Pulled into the back and the valet greeted us right away. Walked down a nice corridor with vines all over up to the dining area. John was our waiter and let me point out that he was phenomenal, always around at the right time. He took our drink orders and was back at the table within a minute. A diet coke for her, Ketal & club for me. Also brought out some great garlic bread! We started off with some calamari that was really good, came with some Italian tomato based sauce. Then the salads came out with a house dressing that was stupendous. For the main course the lady had gnocchi al sugreto, she’s a huge gnocchi fan and said it was wonderful. I actually enjoyed it too. I had a veal parm that was some of the best I’ve had(no expert in this area). Everything came out in great timing. The food and service were basically perfect. We’ll be back.
