Could be worse, could be better. Slow delivery from the kitchen, be prepared to wait longer than you think you should. Nice service from a nice guy, but seemingly understaffed. Good pizza and decent pasta. The carbonara was sadly typical and not creamy and robust. The spaghetti it’s not home made, but it’s cooked well. The garlic buns were good, but we had to ask for them became they, like one of the entrees, were forgotten. The pizza was quite tasty, with a nice crust. Maybe stay with that.

This has been by far the greatest find for us. We were initially heading south to Ft. Lauderdale when we decided to come back north along A1A. We are glad we did. This find was awesome! We ate there since we were out and about. The service was phenomenal, as well as the food! The kids ate pizza. We had eggplant parmesan and a veal shrimp roll special that was great. We started out with garlic bread fresh out of the oven. Yum!!!

Horrible. Just horrible. Nice server, felt like I paid for a plate of sauce. Garlic knots with at least a tablespoon of raw garlic in top. Good one the garlic was knocked off. I got eggplant parm. Mushy everything with at least 2 cups of sauce on top of boxed noodles. And not good sauce! I’m Italian… This was a poor attempt to be. Not at all worth the$ 18!!!

Owner conducts bad business. Can’t trust anyone like that with something I’m going to eat. Take your business elsewhere, there are people that appreciate your patronage. Owner took down the Facebook page when the truth was being told about his business practices.

We have visited Ruby’s by the Sea several times during our vists to the Pompano Beach area We have eaten inside the restaurant and taken carry out several times. Every time the food has been excellent! We have loved everything we have ordered from Ruby’s by the Sea. I would recommend to anyone looking for good Italian place to eat in a casual setting.

I’m not fan of straw and I am not fond of wrap, so you can imagine how I felt when I found a straw wrapper baked into the cheese topping our pizza. While I’m a fan of recycling, I don’t expect to find inedible surprises baked into my pizza. We called in an order for home delivery and had to check on the delivery twice, despite living on the same road less than a mile away. Upon opening the box I found the pizza didn’t look appetizing, wasn’t hot, appeared to have been cooked some time ago and wasn’t made as ordered. My wife ordered a pie half plain and on the other half mushroom and peperoni. What we got was a pie that was half mushroom half peperoni pizza with a straw wrapper mixed and baked within the cheese. How does a pie maker spread cheese around a pie and not notice there’s a straw wrapper in the mix? We were left to drive the pie back for a refund and wound up eating way late at a different pizzeria. Needless to say, we won’t be patronizing this establishment again. Offering made-to-order pizza, pasta, seafood, salad subs, and soups. Chef Gino and Chef Nino make EVERYTHING from scratch including all desserts to the eggplant parmesan delicious! Wow! Very grateful for the patrons loyalty and patience in understanding it’s not a fast food restaurant and good food takes time to cook. I recommend that everyone try my home-made lentil soup, it’s delicious!

Ate there last night. There were eight of us. The food was excellent! We had Veal Francaise, red snapper with asparagus, shrimp scampi, lentil soup, garlic rolls, cappuccino, cannoli and tiramisu. I would say the food was outstanding. The salads were ok so get the soup. Holly was funny who waited on us and the place is like a little diner but I would highly recommend. Prices very reasonable and portions were great. If you have a chance to try do it you will be pleasantly surprised. Very causal where you can talk with friends and enjoy. Nino the cook is from Sicily and knows how to cook. I am going back today for another cannoli and cappacunio. I give it a Big Thumbs Up!!! Gino the owner knows how to satisfy people’s taste.

I was here on business and came because of the Unilocal reviews. Walked from my hotel. It did not disappoint. The atmosphere is not what you’re here for, though I did enjoy Sinatra playing in the background. This place has really good food(and lots of it) and nice people. Gino is a character. Try it.

I definitely don’t see how the reviews for this place are so good. We went last night, a Tuesday night, after arriving in town. We ordered three pasta dishes and wings. It took a while to get our menus, then to get water. Then it took about 15 minutes to get our salads. Here’s the thing, there were five total tables including ours. The waitress, Olivia, was really sweet, but waitressing doesn’t seem to be her thing. We had a discussion about the salad dressings they make in house, and she still brought out the wrong dressing. My daughter ordered the ceasar salad. It came out as a regular salad with dressing. When it came back it was the same salad minus the tomato with added croutons and the dressing wasn’t ceasar. My daughter ordered the chicken Marsala without mushrooms. It was literally chicken, pasta, and brown gravy. Like the powdered McCormick gravy you buy in the store. I ordered the chicken piccata. I’ve never had such a thick, dense lemon sauce. It was gross. The lemon wine sauce on a piccata is supposed to be light. And they added so much that it was like soup on my plate. My husband had the chicken parm. His attitude was, how can you mess up chicken parm. It was okay, but nothing to warrant the ratings this restaurant had received. The couple next to us waited at least 15 minutes after completing their meal and still didn’t have a check. The couple behind us asked for water at least 3 times over a good 10 minutes period. We got tired of waiting for napkins and water, so my daughter, who works as a waitress, got up and got it. Bad experience all around.

Been by Ruby by the Sea a number of times and from looking at the place, its outward appearance, never gave it much of a thought, thinking it was just another pizza joint. But this time, being on the hungry side I did a Unilocal check on it. Whoa!!! To my surprise mostly 4 and 5 star reviews! Then, checking their web site menu I spotted a «Veal Francese» entrée, which being one of my favorite dishes, just the thoughts of it immediately got me salivating as I pulled into their parking lot. Then, for another surprise, when doing my Unilocal check-in, up pops a Unilocal friendly, Unilocal courtesy note for a Unilocal freebie glass of wine with any entrée on Monday. So, since it was a Monday, I was definitely on a lucky streak but didn’t know how lucky I was in fact going to be. Upon entering, I was greeted by one of the most friendly and competent of waitresses ever, seated myself at a comfortable both in what was immediately obvious of being a super clean rather nicely decorated place, showed my Unilocal freebie for wine, order a glass of chianti and their veal francese. When the glass of wine came, it was no ordinary glass of meager pour but a large glass ¾’s full of a chianti that I found to distinctly be of superior taste and quality. The wine came along with two delicious garlic knots and salad which were also included with my entrée order. The garlic knots were some of the best and the salad ingredients fresh, crispy and clean to the taste. However, the pièce de résistance my meal was the veal francese, two well breaded, not to thick, not to thin, nicely pounded out hunks of veal with a good zesty fresh lemon to the taste overtone along accompanied by a perfectly al dente done pasta coated with the francese sauce. I found it not only to be a really great, satisfying delicious meal, but at mere $ 16.99 a true price bargain as well. Like I’ve gone to other places having much the same meal, but food or service not as good, having to drop $ 40 or more for. I might also add that for a small place, their menu is incredible extensive. Besides the veal francese, they also have 5 other veal dishes. Then not only veal dishes but those of mussels, shrimp, calamari, all sorts of pastas, chicken, pizzas, subs & etc. The chef is a gentlemen named Gino who has over 20 years of experience who proved to me that he really knows what he is doing. Hence I have no problem going 4 Stars Plus and recommending Ruby by the Sea not only as a place to stop by if you’re in the area but also well worth even going out of your way for.

We were visiting the area on vacation, with the intent to support local businesses when dining out. Craving pizza, we browsed pizzerias near by and found Ruby’s. It’s a small business located in a strip mall at the end of the road, but the ingredients were fresh and service was exceptional. The waitresses were attentive, even when it got busy with take away orders and other patrons. I’d take this over Dominos any day.

Not a big place. If not previous review we would probably never go over there. Once we get in, we never regret. Food was unbelievable tasty. The garlic rolls they serve were so good that we ordered extra. The owner(or at least he looked and sound like one) was really friendly and helpful. You can hear a lot of people are returning customers which is usually a good thing. We got two meals, soup, desert and one cappuccino and our check was under $ 50 Over all if I ever in this area I will stop by again.

Ruby’s is truly a gem. Do not be fooled by the humble appearance, because Chef Gino will amaze and impress. The ingredients are so fresh and flavorful, the spices are just perfect. Top it off with incredibly kind service and comfy atmosphere. My husband has a dairy allergy and so Gino crafted a special mussels linguini marinara. I had the Greek salad with salmon… the feta was so smooth, the salmon full of flavor and the dressing just right. You’ll be completely satisfied.
