I dragged my boyfriend to the mall on a Sunday afternoon because I had some coupons to use, and of course he needed a treat and started complaining that he was starving about a half hour into the trip… I was hungry too, but I normally would just wait until I got home. I honestly had no idea this mall had a food court before this, and I probably haven’t eaten in a mall food court since 1999. I surveyed this options and decided on Sarku Japan, a stir fry like place that makes your food to order on a giant hibatchi like grill. I ordered the vegetarian soba noodles. With a bottle of water my total was ~$ 5. I proceeded down the assembly line and got the the end where I picked up my to go box of noodles and veggies. I was surprised how large the portion was especially for the price, and there were tons of fresh veggies making a bed for a giant pile of perfectly cooked soba noodles. I enjoyed it and it felt somewhat healthy with all the veggies, and wasn’t greasy at all. I would love if there were a place like this close to where I work, but now I know the Coral Square Mall actually does have a food court, and some decent options at that.

I always order the Terriyaki Chicken with double meat. It’s delicious and I’m convinced you get a bigger serving if you have it in the to-go box. The sauce has changed over the years which is a little disappointing because the sauce used to be to die for. The meat and vegetables are cooked right in front of you on a hibachi grill and it’s entertaining to watch. It’s also reassuring because you know exactly what they’re doing with your food. I still have yet to finish one order by myself. I always split it someone and I still can’t finish it! It’s definitely a great value. It also always has a long line but prompt service! Can’t beat that.
