Best all round BBQ I have found. Beats out Blue Willis by notch. Awesome ribs, wings, Mac n cheese… Strange, the wait time for food was exceptionally long even though place was almost empty(isn’t bbq pre made?) other than that, people are extremely friendly and food is great(when it finally arrives.)

We went for lunch ordered wings and ribs. Im really stunned at the level of high reviews because there was only 2 people in the restaurant when we came in. The wings were small and very generic with the medium sauce. They were at least edible. We ordered a half rack of ribs and what showed up were 5 individual pieces of ribs 3 of which no longer than my thumb and grossly overcooked. We sent them back… and we won’t go back. Good luck Hog but I’m heading to Blue Willys. Btw… all the gimmicky arcade machines don’t belong in a BBQ restaurant!

First time I had Spanx(today). Finally a unique approach to local flavor. This is by far the tastiest BBQ I have had yet, in South Florida. Everything was excellent! Thick juicy smoky ribs, BEANS that are masterfully crafted, pork sausage that was juicy and smoky, ditto for the pulled pork. I ordered the Pig Platter. This was one of the lunch specials and was an excellent value. The flavors are truly unique as I ordered the«sweet» sauce. This was no Sonny’s fast food cookie cutter recipe, but a truly bespoke flavor that will linger in the mouth and memory. I am a professional chef with a culinary degree and a South Florida native. I’ve been raised on Shorty’s BBQ and The Pit, in Miami., both of which are fine Establishments. If you find in, its a bit loud a sportsbar-like atmosphere. Definitely a local Hangout, for the locals. Whimsical interior with steer busts, antlers, big empty wine Barrels for tables and a plethora or video games to play. Smokin’ is OK outside. Visit the vintage fire truck too.

Happened to stumble across this quant BBQ joint while house hunting. No luck in finding a house but, will DEFINITELY be back to Spanx! The owners are friendly & welcoming… and the food is out-freakin-standing! Hoping we find a place nearby so, we can become«regulars»!!! I can’t say enough wonderful things about our first visit here!

This was a very bad experience I got through groupon. The ribs were very tough and over cooked the sides were terrible. The sauces were ok could be way better! I would never come back here!

Meh, it was only ok. I’m a bbq snob, so when family in town said it was good, we decided to give it a try. Décor was ok, had a laugh at the mid 90s video games. Got the ribs. They were only ok. Rub was too sweet for my liking and tasted strongly of nutmeg. Beans were good, Mac and cheese was ok. The server was very nice and attentive. Not the worst bbq ever, but not the best either.

Just when I thought I couldn’t find a better bbq place in this area, I finally tried this place out! Everything was amazing. My bf and I split the grazers paradise platter with Mac n cheese and baked beans. We also had to add a few of the deep fried ribs which definitely topped my expectations. Everything had such great flavor, especially the pulled pork. It was the perfect amount of food for the two of us and the prices are great. They also have a great beer selection with some cheap specials. We each had 2 beers with our meal and the total bill was about $ 30, definitely a bang for your buck. The service was also great! We will definitely be back, I’m only upset we didn’t try it sooner!

I have never tried deep fried ribs but I will try just about anything at least once. I was in the mood for some good BBQ and a friend told me about Spanx. Best lunch I have had all week! Their sauces are absolutely amazing and ribs where nice and tender. They have some Great homemade Mac and cheese and their corn nuggets are also very tasty. If this place is consistent, I will be coming back again and again! Yumm!

This was our second visit to the Hog — once for lunch, this time for dinner. I cannot say enough good things about the smoked wings — when paired with the spicy BBQ sauce, I think the best I’ve had. I had to buy a bottle of their sauce to bring home! I had a half rack of smoked ribs, with the same sauce — terrific. It is not a traditional rack, where you have to cut the rack apart — these are separate meaty bones. For sides, I had the collard greens, which I had never had before — very good, and their homemade cole slaw. Others at the table had mac and cheese, brisket, and pulled pork, and everyone was happy. This place is a definite find

Stopped in by chance for a bucket of ribs. 8 bones covered in meat. Was really tasty and a place I would highly recommend if in the area!

Decent handcrafted BBQ — left full! Overall delicious food, in my opinion overpriced. Will probably visit again, although the abundance of staff staring at me was awkward to say the least!

I went there for lunch on a weekday. By myself. Restaurant quiet. I ordered the entrée, barbecue Sunday — ridiculous name and not very good. Portion small. Pulled pork pulled pork mediocre at best. Coleslaw out of the jar or worse — not worth eating. Pickles out of the jar — mediocre. There supposedly homemade beans were way worse than some of the store-bought beings I have had. A very small amount of meat, maybe 3 ounces in a portion, for very large amount of money — prices too high and not enough food — insufficient portions/bland. I ate it and did not want to make a scene, but I would not go back.

It was pretty good I’m just not a fan of the spice used on the ribs. GREAT mac n cheese. Portion pretty small.

Was around the area, hopped on Unilocal, found this place. I tell you what, it was darn tasty. Had a few cool cervezas, and had some pulled pork and collard greens. The sauces were awesome, and I thought the collard greens were some of the best I’ve had. Would definitely go again.

I just put in a slight change of address for Spanx. Currant add. shown is missing the«South» on Cypress Rd. Big difference. Fortunately, we were meeting a friend who had been there before. ANYWAY: Nice atmosphere and not noisy on a Tuesday night. I’m just going to list my thoughts on the items we had. Sauces — Only OK. The bottles should be labeled. Mac & Cheese — Very good. Creamy & cheesy. Cold Slaw — Very good. Wings — We had them with their rub and were very good. Texas Sausage — So good I brought some home. Brisket — Very tender, OK flavor but needed a little sauce. Pulled Pork — Good favor with or without sauce. Pulled Chicken — OK flavor, a little dry, would make a good sandwich. Ribs — Very meaty for baby backs, tender but Quite dry, over cooked. I definitely«prefer full» size pork ribs. Sliced Turkey — Good. Got take out to make sandwiches. Prices are reasonable and our server did a good job since she was alone. A long way from home but would go back if in the area.

Though known as «The Hog.» With plenty of «The Hog» signs up, it’s also known as «Spanx The Hog Barbeque,» so maybe what at first appears as a duplicate entry is in fact proper, but since everything I had to say about The Hog applies to Spanx The Hog Barbeque, my review is pretty much the same for both. Located at the end of a Village Shoppes, a little strip mall is Spanx The Hog, a barbeque restaurant. Once you step inside you’ll find a sort of western, might I say Texas type of décor about the place, plenty of big round wooden tables that look like those huge spools that the electric companies use to wrap and transport cable wires, western type of country background music, a selection of three sauces(all rather tasty), some hot sauces and a roll of paper towels. There are three large flat screens on one wall, what looks like the stuffed head of long horn bull on a support beam along with various other western decorative items. A couple of nice pluses are that the there is plenty of parking in the parking lot, it’s located in a safe neighborhood and the place is spotlessly clean. I had the ribs which you can order with spicy or sweet sauce I ordered mine dry then applied my own sauce from the three on the table in order to have some variety. My ribs came as order, dry, and had a perfect, just the right taste of smoke about them. As sides, the coleslaw was also good as were my collard greens.

Glad we decided to check this place out again. Last time I was here it was counter food with rude staff and semi good bbq. Stopped in for lunch and we’re seated at a table and ordered some down home sweet tea and corn fritters soaked in honey, can we say delish!!! The smell of bbq and décor makes you feel like your deep in the south. If you haven’t been since the new ownership… give them a second chance. You will be pleased!!!

Great food. The smoked wings are excellent. The beer prices are great. Carissa is an excellent server and enjoys a good«ribbing». I highly recommend it and go Steelers!
