The Vega Lounge

If you’re going here and also The Foundry, which is next door, get drunk beforehand and take a flask of liquor with you that you can take swigs of in the bathroom. The drinks here are pretty expensive. There are a lot of attractive yuppie girls here… However, they only seem to want white-​collar guys who make six figures. I make decent money doing blue-​collar work but they don’t want someone who breaks his back to keep one of the basic needs of society functioning. The drinks are too much though. The scene here is kind of like in «The 40-​Year-​Old-​Virgin,» when they go out to a bar and it’s «$ 9 beer night.»

This is probably the best place for a young professional to come relax have some drinks and socialize in the city of Pompano Beach.

Vega is a neighborhood like cigar bar, and as such they strict enforce it. No cigarette or pipe smoking inside; cigar smoking only! You can smoke cigarettes or pipes out on their plaza sidewalk patio, but don’t even think of trying to do that inside because they’ll either make you get out or put it out.
As a cigar bar, it’s friendly enough, has a humidor thing but it looks more like a small soda pop cooler with a about the smallest selection of cigars of any cigar bar I’ve ever been at. However, for a small selection, nicely varied.
It’s a full liquor bar and the drinks they serve are pretty good, the bartenders do a decent pour, are polite and mannerly. The ambiance is fairly decent, dark themed, nothing modern, has good bar stools, a decent chairs, a comfortable and relaxing sofa. The walls are adorned with some artwork, mostly of fish skeletons, rather amateurish in my opinion, all posted for sale by the artist with prices generally in the area of $ 550.
I kind of like the place but can’t say I’m a fan of it either because as cigar bars or cigar smoking lounges go there are better choices, but most of those are beer and wine only. So, the only thing that sort of sets Vega apart from the others is that it has a full service bar.

Great little spot. I am a cigar smoker. They sometimes have bands, and with the outside seating its one of the few places I can smoke a cigar and have my wife with me.

My wife and I spend way too much time here because we have too much fun. Great bartenders, people who have become good friends, excellent happy hour prices and a fine selection of wines and craft brews.

If you want a classy place that has top shelf drinks, then this is the place for you.
Also great music and top quality cigars.
A great local place to hang out with cool people and not having to worry about drunks and rowdy crowds.
For all you complainers that the prices are too high, and that rated the Vega one star, you should try the redneck bars down the street where you can buy $ 2.00 watered down draft beers.

This place has serious attitude. The bar help was as ignorant as he could be. The barmaid is very unfriendly. This place won’t be around for long. It’s awful. Don’t waste your time. One star rating is one too many

Pompano needs a place like this. This establishment will definitely be successful, they have a liquor and cigar store next door. Stephanie is a knowledgeable bartender. They have a great selection of beer and liquor. But, drinks are pricey esp beer for the what it is. It’s a very small bar with tiny seating arrangement, you have to sit at the bar. They live music outside on the weekend however. Other than price (club drink prices) it’s a great option for something chill

It’s feel like the bartender is so raises, I can’t even believe it.
I came from California to visit my family and I went to this place for a date with a South American beautiful girl.
She walked to the bar to ask for a drink and so the bartender wasn’t nice at all, when my friend told me about it I wasn’t really got mad but the next time I walked to ask for two battles of water she played like she can’t even understand my accent after I asked three time for a battle of water, then I asked her «does my accent so heavy so you couldn’t understand what I’m asking and then she did a ugly face to me and the manger was siting on the bar without even apologize for it.
Any way this place is pricy and I didn’t like the way they behaved me and I’ll never go there again.
Miami as a so many immigrants and those people closed mind, I think they should move theirs bar to Texas, over there they won’t see anyone but themselves.

Great staff, atmosphere, and entertainment. Not a crazy college bar, which allows for a relaxing time to have a drink, and network.

Great new bar in Pompano Beach. YOU need to check out this sleek, chill, lounge with amazing hand crafted cocktails! Shiah is a fantastic bartender who knows how to make an awesome Manhattan. He really can make an cocktail you ask for, and they all taste delicious. Stephanie also did a great job with the cocktails. They have a nice beer selection as well. They are putting together an outside patio area, and they also have space for live music. Soon as a cigar shop will be open a few doors down. I would definitely take friends here for a nice evening at a great, local, lounge right down the street from the beach. Make sure to check it out if you live in the area or are visiting sunny South Florida!

The Vega Lounge is fabulous.
The atmosphere makes me feel at home straight away. The selection of beer liquor and wine are the best of any wine and cigar bar I have ever been to.
I keep going back because the service is so good. They have so many wine and beer tasting events that offer rare opportunities to explore brews and wines from near and far. And great cigars.
No review of Vega would be complete without mentioning the music. World class jazz, folk, rock and more outside, with very comfortable seating.
Easy to find in newly renovated and rejuvenated area, what’s NOT to love about Vega!

Spent a wonderful night at Vega celebrating my wife passing the last exam for her CPA license. As usual the service was great and the beer cold. They had a nice duet of dudes rocking out on Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen on the patio area and the usual suspects came in throughout the night.
The beer selection here is top notch with Stella and Chimay on tap and all the usual domestic bottles. They also have a great happy hour everyday from 2PM to 7PM when most drinks except the exotics are half price.
If you want to experience the best Pompano has to offer check out the Vega either before or after you duck into Houston’s for their prime rib. You will want to come back.

Live Jazz music playing… with a little mix of Sting and Pink Floyd??? Satisfying everyone’s musical taste… as we sit outdoors and smoke these Gurkha and Avo Cigars with friends… Incredible!!!).
Full bar… great staff. Located across from Houston’s on East Atlantic Blvd… Vega is the perfect place to hang out after a nice dinner or any time… and just have few drinks and Cigars.
Pompano Beach changing… what was once a sleepy little town where the local nightlife revolved around Starbucks (no…unfortunately I’m not joking. lol) now is building a vibe with younger professionals who had been waiting for places like this to show up.
Saturday night… just had dinner at Houston’s…pull up to Vega… music playing… crowd from early 30’s plus… some dressed up just coming from dinner… and some in jeans… everyone having a great time.
Found an open high-​top table outside… picked our cigars (if the lounge doesn’t have the cigar you desire… Vega also has a cigar shop a few doors down in the same plaza where you can select any cigar and take it back to the lounge)…and shared some fireball shots.
Every time we come here… the crowd seems to be building… they are growing out of the small space they started with… and will definitely have to expand at some point… but the outdoor seating is plenty… and Vega delivers to Pompano what it had been missing for so long. Great job… and btw… compliments to our (Latvian?) hostess… great service… great vibe.
Why only 4 stars? …just saving that extra star not to set the expectations too high… afterall, Vega is not a NY or Miami-​style fancy Cigar lounge overlooking the City etc… but it is good… and maybe one day as Vega grows over the years… it will become a 5 Star cigar lounge. The future is bright… it is very obvious… now sit back and enjoy! My only request to owners… always maintain high quality Cigars at the lounge… so when the Cigar store is closed… we don’t have to settle for low quality brands. Thank you!
